Ha ha didn't go in as hubbys mum lives close but looks a lovely pub.

Go to the railway regularly. I would highly recommend

good place, nice people, pool table is good.

Having a quiet drink and there was a few youngsters being a bit loud but not really troublesome , ne t thing I see the hired tugs (door men) attack them is the only word I can call it the door men were excessively violent as most were willing leave without trouble saw one bouncer using a choke hold which is a dangerous move ,the management should be ashamed employing thugs like that , t incident did not involve me as a 60 year old male who used to to be in the forces I was shocked at their attitude they seemed to be looking for trouble not stopping it won't be visiting Bridgend again.

The best little local bar around,where the welcome is brill,the craic is good and the beer is even better. They certainly know a good time here

Great food. Always clocked fresh. Excellent service and welcome.

Staff so friendly above and beyond. Soup cold but lovely flavour. Mains was cold again and dessert was lovely but run out of most desserts so my child had no dessert. Basically stay at home and save your money...

Different. ... lovely food and plenty off

£8.50 for a traditional Sunday roast. Homemade soup or pate for starters, 3 veg plus roast potatoes and Yorkshire 3 meat choices, lush puddings. Saw a dog in bar but didn't think to ask if dog friendly but assume so. As for gf took my own gravy powder as hadn't let them know and it was made up in a separate gravy boat, couldn't have 2 of the desserts. Was told if next time, there will definitely be a next time, if I let them know I wanted gluten free they would have items for me. Meal was 😋 delicious.

Fabulous Sunday lunch all freshly cooked very reasonably priced.

What a dump very slow service 30 minutes between 1st and 2nd. Food was cold and very poor,please avoid if you do not want to be rip off.

Amazing food. Massive portions, shame they only serve food on Sunday. Waitresses are there straight away and always smiling, never waiting more that 10 minutes for food, it's quality fresh food and served boiling. Very cheap and enjoyable

Did have a warm welcome however the decoration here needs a lot of work and was a little cold . I was disappointed with lunch my meat was very thinly sliced and was stone cold there was just enough veg for us two but we are not big eaters our boiled potatoes were rock hard definitely would not come again x

Stayed for 2 nights with our Minature Daschound. Good quirky Inn with accommodatio ,good food, good service good selections of Wines-Beers-Ciders. On the river bank with 2 out door terraces to chill out on, off road parking.Ideal bolt hole to explore the surrounding attractions. Place could do with a little TLC as it needs upgrading however excellent place to stay.

Fab service, very good prices on the food for big portions, great with kids, amazing warm friendly welcome can't wait to try the Sunday lunch, really happy and would recommend.

Quiet country pub, nothing fancy just good beer good company and a warm welcome

Disappointing, slow, no-one knew alternatives to set menu, when food arrived it was bland. On the plus side the chocolate fudge cake was great!

My wife and I called in for a Sunday lunch with company and ordered our meals which were served very quick considering it was quite full in the restaurant, The meal including desert was not to bad but have tasted better, The staff were very friendly and helpful thoughout the service, This pub could do with a good re-furb to bring it up to a reasonable standard which I think would bring them a lot more custom and maybe charge a little more as I found their prices very cheep, If you do make a visit make sure to take cash as they don't accept payment by card...

Each time we've eaten here (mountain biking trip) the staff are friendly, the food is great, the price is superb. Highly recommend.

Went to pub for a meal which is advertised on the door. And told they don't do food anymore. Sorry for that. But please change your signs so everyone knows.

Myself and a friend were staying in the Yurts nearby. We stopped at the pub for a pint, on the way back to the tent yesterday ( 19.03.15 ). All I can say is that, I am kicking myself that I did not go to The Railway sooner, as we are off home today! Absolutely brilliant laugh! The locals made us feel so welcome. We met brilliant characters and had lots of banter and giggles! We were even told by a few, to come back in the summer. I am hoping to do just that! A fantastic, memorable night! Thank you ;() Binny

We called in, for food they were very accommodating and couldn't do enough, the food was delicious albeit small portions but for the price you cannot fault

My Dad loves this pub so I come here with him on occasion. It's very dated but the food is great, love a good old steak and ale pie and chips.

this is a lovely restaurant that used to be a real pleasure to visit, however recently it has become more difficult to get a meal of your choice here. On November the 2nd 2013 (a Saturday) we arrived at the Railway Inn. Llangynwyd Having booked a table for four earlier in the week. We were given the menu and made our selection. My wife ordered Green Thai curry. "I'm sorry there's no green Thai curry left we've been busy". My friend ordered Lasagne. "I'm sorry there's no lasagne, we've had a party here today." My friend settled for chicken curry. Success! Only to be told, "I'm sorry we have curry, but no rice. You can have a jacket potato if you like". I appreciate the restaurant is busy but as the banners stated it was a 13th birthday party. Children with sophisticated tastes? The sad part is there's a Tesco's, Asda and Aldi's all within two miles. If you intend using this restaurant I recommend when you book your table you ask them what food you need to bring with you.

OK... Lets be fair... This is Pub Food but it is very good pub food. It pretends to be nowt else. The owners have done a great job saving much of the bar and not turning the whole place into an eatery (as so many pubs do these days). So one may have a drink before and after the meal in a proper pub environment.... Really nice staff.... cutlery that does not bend in the hand... good menu and very reasonable price. All round my wife and I really like this place and we will visit again.

This village pub serves a range of drinks including a real ale and prices seemed very reasonable. We arrived too late for food (times seem quite variable so best check in advance) but the landlord was happy to advise on options and provided a range of take away menus. The locals were welcoming and the place had a nice feeling. As a registered taxi driver with a small minibus Steve was more than happy to arrange transport home for our group making the location easily accessible. 2 of our group are also looking forward to Sunday lunch today which is very reasonable priced.

The staff and people who go to the pub are very helpful and as we where staying at cwm tawel and we didn't know much about the area but the residents of the town did tell us about the town I will coming back :-)

We always recieve a lovely welcome, the best Sunday lunch in the area, and lunch on Saturday was just as good. One of the rare pubs that serve real chips ! The staff and service are first class, they certainly have our custom and recomendations to others.

We love the Railway, not only for its Sunday lunches, but for weekday meals too ! and the staff are fantastic, nothing is too much trouble ! Gary and Tracy have turned this place around, but nevertheless have managed to keep it a traditional valley pub. and the fillet steaks - OMG to die for !!!! We have been visiting since September 2011 on a very regular basis and will continue to do so. Buffets for parties are second to none also !

Delicious Sunday lunch for Father's day. Booked last minute so table in pool room not ideal but service excellent. Great value, meat plentiful, veg perfect. Would definitely recommend. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Walk in on what you think will be a quiet Wednesday night and find a local traditional sing along with guitar and hand drum in one room, the pool team thrashing it out in another and all the local gossip in another, this pub is so alive with all the good stuff! Oh and the serve a lovely pint of doom bar! :-)

Definitely the best local restaurant to eat!!! ,we have eat here several times and can honestly say we have not had a bad meal, I've eat fillet steak here and mussels all of which were delicious !!! Undergone a transformation-which looks fantastic. I would recommend highly for any occasion - Gary and Tracey have done a wonderful job and always go out of their way to ensure we have everything to our taste, stunning food, ambiance and wine!!!!! Well worth a visit
