For me, Galvin La Chapelle is the finest restaurant in London in terms of the adaptabiliy and consistent high quality of their cooking and service, and looking after their customers. We have what everywhere else considers extraordinarily difficult dietary requirements and an inconvenience, but Galvin LC appears to see them as an exciting challenge, which they always overcome to create quite beautiful food. Thank you!

Had an amazing time, what a fantastic selection of cheeses and wines! We stopped and had a couple of drinks, great selection of beer, wines and cocktails. Call out to Darius, who knew everything about the wine selection, was super friendly and made us feel really welcome

4 of us dropped in to share a bottle of wine after we went to a nearby show. It was so noisy inside that we asked to sit outside, after we ordered the wine at the bar. It was their house white and cost £38 which is the cheapest bottle they have. We offered to take the wine out with us and they said no, someone would bring it out. They did, whereupon they opened it and filled all four glasses to the top. We did ask them to stop, as not all of us were drinking as much as the others - I only wanted half a glass as I was driving. But by then it was poured out. We redistributed it. They didn't bring us water or anything else. We asked for the bill and paid it- afterwards I noticed they had charged us £4.75 service charge. I should have checked the bill at the time of course and I'll be more careful next time. I won't go there again.

Been meaning to visit for some time and really glad that we did. Well located on Brick Lane. Food was great. The French onion soup and 3 cheese plate were so good. As were the mussels and beef onglet steak. We also had the Tarte Tartin & port for desert. Alongside the great food, the service was really good 😊 Given we regularly visit this part of London, we look forward to returning.

We had afternoon tea at Vicinity after doing the engine room tour of Tower Bridge. We could not believe the location of this restaurant and the view! We had a window seat directly facing Tower Bridge. We were surprised that the restaurant was not completely full as the location cannot be beat. Lovely outdoor patio was also available for a sunny day. The tea was served on a Tower Bridge shaped serving tray which was a very cute addition. Everything about this afternoon was a five star, except unfortunately the food. It was good but not great. All in all, though we would definitely return and recommend it. Had a wonderful afternoon at Vicinity.

I’ve always associated Paul with quality, but my latest visit was a huge letdown. I ordered a mocha, expecting the usual rich, indulgent taste. What I got was far from it. The mocha was lukewarm, watery, and bitter — completely lacking the smooth, creamy consistency I’m used to. It tasted like they barely added any chocolate, and the espresso was burnt. I honestly couldn’t finish it. To make things worse, the service was slow and indifferent. Even though the café wasn’t that busy, it took ages for my order to arrive. When I politely mentioned the mocha wasn’t up to standard, the staff seemed dismissive, offering no apology or attempt to make it right. This was hands down the worst mocha I’ve ever had. For a brand that prides itself on quality, I expected much better. I hope this was just an off day, but it’ll be a while before I consider returning.
