On my first visit to London from Scotland I visited the Bistroteque for brunch. My niece and I received a warm welcome from Julio who gave us a lovely table next to the piano where we enjoyed listening to the music played by your talented pianist. All the staff were very friendly, efficient and helpful. I had the french toast with cinnamon which I thoroughly enjoyed. The menu provided us with some excellent choices. The restaurant was lovely, it is very bright and has a nice atmosphere. I will visit again the next time that I am in London.

Place and overall environment are so cool!! Staff is incredibly friendly and make you fell comfortable from the very beginning! They are simply amazing! Only note they should highlight/communicate on the menu if a plate is spicy / very spicy etc....but otherwise quality of food is excellent! We then went downstairs to enjoy a show...so much fun! I strongly recommended this place!

We went for brunch on a saturday and the staff was very nice the decor is great the live piano performance is adding this je ne sais quoi to the overall ambiance! We chose the fresh mint tea and the vegan chickpea pancake with a delicious dressing that has a kick to it we had to order bread as the meal was perhaps too light I think a second pancake on that plate would be great. My friend chose the English breakfast which was very generous in terms of portions! Recommend to go and try this restaurant ASAP!

I used to love this place... back in the day (circa 2017) when it was vibrant and great value. But the prices now are just silly!! Yes, the food is good, the service welcoming, but its really now just pandering to the over-bearing waspy wallets who have moved into Hackney and gentrified the area, killing the original charm! So sad!

Friends and I try and do brunch once a month and we hadn’t been here for ages. Amazing service and perfectly cooked French toast. So so good.

Bistrotheque has excellent food and ambiance, and their customer service management is the best. I had an issue with the booking platform, which overcharged me unfairly, and the restaurant had a prompt and effective response. So yes, I’ll always recommend this place for the way they treat their customers, on top of amazing food.

I recently visited Bistroteque to celebrate my partner's birthday, a place we've frequented often. I've always perceived it as a private spot with a serious approach to customer service, hence my hesitation to write a review until now. However, I feel compelled to share my experience. I was quite disappointed to find that the burger, our main reason for visiting, has been removed from the menu. The alternatives, like the chicken with mayo gravy, didn't quite hit the mark for me. This is still a charming place, but the changes, particularly the shift from their signature chunky, crispy fries to what seemed like regular frozen ones, and the absence of the delicious aioli sauce, were letdowns. The staff mentioned that many customers have requested the return of the burger, and I echo that sentiment. An additional point of letdown in my experience at Bistroteque is related to the value for money. The burger, which was not only delicious but also reasonably priced, offered a much better deal compared to other menu items like half a chicken for £25. The burger's removal significantly impacts the overall dining satisfaction, as the remaining options seem overpriced for what they deliver. This factor, combined with the change in side dishes, further diminishes the appeal of the restaurant's current offerings. While Bistroteque remains a lovely place, I am inclined to revisit only if they bring back the beloved burger!

Good food, great friendly service by Carlos, perfect atmosphere at Thursday night

Just got back from an excellent dinner; had the beef short rib which literally fell off the bone, pop corn Parmesan chicken and all THREE of the desserts. Everything was delicious. Service was great (we had Carlos!) and I loved the decor. Will be back soon.

Me and my partner had a brunch here today and both food and service were amazing! Light piano music, huge portions (don’t over order!) and incredible service from Carlos!!! A real hidden gem!!!

It's unfair of me to comment on the main restaurant because we were downstairs watching an incredible performance from David Hoyle, but the food and wine were delicious (I had a caramel chicken that was incredibly moist) and the staff were super helpful and attentive, even though they had all upstairs to deal with as well. Loved it, definitely would come back.

We’ve been coming to Bistrotheque for years and a festive/birthday brunch has become a tradition. Excellent food, and impeccable service in a great atmosphere. Great atmosphere, food and service

We had our work Christmas party here and WOW, seamless from start to finish. A massive thanks to Camille and Julio for making our evening one to remember!!!!

I had been a few times years ago. Four of us went again last night. The venue is in an old warehouse. The ambience usually is pretty cool but is somehow ruined by tacky plastic Xmas trees, flashing blue lights and shiny plastic curtains at the moment. The food is lovely. Unfortunately, a lot was missing from the menu. We were warned about one dish missing when we sat at the table, but it turned out that two dishes we chose were also not available. Eventually, a fourth dish that two of us had ordered was also off the menu. The waiter apologised and kindly offered to replace it with something else on the house. We had booked at 9:15 pm, and they take reservations until 10pm. Perhaps we were just unlucky on that day, but maybe book an early table to be on the safe side. And I would definitely avoid the Christmas period (and probably Halloween) the next time I want to show off trendy bits of London to my visitors.

Mole was perfect, the artichokes was unique & the ambience was ideal for all occasions.

Wonderful! From the service to the building to the food, just fantastic. £9 for a can of beer is kind of wild… draught beer would be good, that’s my only criticism😊

It's the second time we come, and while the initial experience was not ideal (we were slightly rushed and seemed waitress was in a hurry to get our order and food took a while) the manager made sure our experience was great and took 50£ off our bill at the end. It is wonderful to see how nowadays people still care about customer experience and just for that, Bistroteque is officially my fav place to go to in London. THANK YOU! Food was phenomenal too :)

The staff were really welcoming to both me and my little schnauzer. I had lots of gluten free and vegan choices. I tried the farinata with candied squash. It was divine. The cocktails were delicious as was the food. I can’t wait to go back!

Good food and chic atmosphere. Peach pie is absolutely delicious - the vegan cream is better than the real thing. Accommodated really well for a large group, however some of the desserts pre ordered was not what we received and the choice of wine by the glass was somewhat underwhelming.

Mixed experience of Bistroteque on Friday night. The service was so friendly - huge shout out to Carlos who is a legend. We arrived a little early for our 8:15 reservation and were sat at 8:09 - the biggest gripe for us is that we didn’t get our food until 9:07, despite ordering at a normal speed. We were starving by the time it got to us! Food was really good though - special mention to the popcorn chicken parmigiana and the vegan carrot dish - both full of flavour. My partner had the burger which was good, but chips were sub par considering a portion was £7.50! Overall had a good time but not in a hurry to come back

Absolutely fabulous meal in a very cool warehouse setting. The service was incredibly friendly and helpful and the food was spot on. Would recommend!

My daughter who lives in London took me here to one of her favourite restaurants with some of her deaest friends, and what an amazing venue it was for such a special occasion. On arrival I found a nameless facade on this quiet cobbled side street, with the restaurant in a door off the leff of a courtyard, then up a stairway. Clearly an East End secret, shared smong those in the know. I had a Virgin Cocktail, the Dolly Eek which was delightfully flavoursome, and which I ordered several of through the evening. The Twice Baked Soufle was spectacular, a real mouthgasm, with rich flavours and textures. For main I stretched my repertoire anc tried the Rabbit Schnitzel with a mustard gravy sauce that in combination, was again an explosion of flavour and a beautifully exrcuted dish, probsbly the best Schnitzel of any kind I've had. For desert we all shared an Apple & Hazelnut Galette, which was really beautiful, and cleaned up well by the five of us. The service throughthe evening was exceptionally good from enthusiastic friendly welcoming staff. Perfection on every level!

We found this place by accident, since then we came back four more times. The staff is really friendly! Our waiter was a tall Spanish guy, he suggested to us their roast chicken, was the perfect choice! It takes a while to arrive as they need to roast it but definitely worth it. Also their french toast is just awesome. Shout out to the manager wearing glasses! He always is really helpful. Thank you guys for always treat us so good! If you’re starving around Bethnal Green! This is your place.

We visited this restaurant yesterday for a girls lunch to celebrate our friends 50th. From when we first arrived, throughout the delicious meal every-thing was just wonderful. The staff here are so attentive and the half chicken i had was just soooo good.

Taken here for brunch by my daughter as her dad had gone cycling. Absolutely loved it! Had booked bar seats as that was all that was available online but quickly got moved to a table on request. Light airy dining room with a good buzz. Waiting staff were super helpful with recommendations and top service. Trout with sauce vierge was memorable and we loved our soft shell crab Benedict. Will definitely be back cannot believe this place has been open for 18 years and this was our first visit.

Food was really great. In terms of constructive feedback selection was limited, service was adequate with some mistakes. Wine quite expensive. Would consider going back but hope service and choice would improve. Members of our group enjoyed the soufflé, leaks, pork chops and burgers. Vegans were happy!

This is my favourite place in London to go for a meal with friends. The food is amazing, the service is incredible and the vibe is the best in the city in my opinion. Been going for years and still it feels so special… like connecting to the heart of the creativity and culture of the city.

Went for Sunday brunch. Place was rammed, with tables close together. Noise level extremely high, as all hard-edge. You get he table for 1.5 hours only. 3 of the 4 drinks came quickly, had to chase several times for the fourth. Just getting tucked into the cocktails when the food arrived, clearly pre-cooked. My chicken schnitzel appeared to have been cooked an earlier day and reheated. Slightly burned, dry as dust, I ate only a bit of it. I did not want to send it back because of the family situation in which we were dining. And they tried to charge us for 6 cocktails when we had only four. Never again.

Had a reservation for 6 people and came in 7 as a friend joined last minute. Staff refused to find a solution and told us to leave the restaurant. The manager even cancelled my booking on their reservation system, not sure why as we were at the restaurant at that time… at that point I believed what I was living was not happening for real. Had to beg for letting the group stay and split into two tables. There were several free tables and the staff even refused to let us seat in two tables next to each others for some of their ambiguous “policy reasons”. Having said that food is average, cutleries fell from the staff while changing plates a few times, and a few items we had order were never brought to the table. I was shocked by the reaction of the staff and felt really uncomfortable as I had never been treated in such an impolite manner before.

We’ve visited many times before without our dog, but brought her along with us today. Within a few moments of our small dog letting out a couple of short, settling in woofs (in a busy, noisy restaurant) it was suggested that we took her out. We did as asked when this happened again later. This was not loud, continuous nuisance barking, more like dog ‘chatter’. I absolutely get that some people find this irritating, and I know that dog owners do become blind to how noisy their pets really are, but the friends we were dining with agreed that she wasn’t particularly noisy. We were happy to comply with the staff requests, but please don’t be fooled by the endless articles describing this as a good place for a relaxed brunch with your dog. Perhaps the website could be updated with ‘dogs allowed but no dog noise tolerated’? Food was excellent though.

We had booked a month ago for my daughter’s birthday. We showed up on time. My other daughter had joined us, which made us a party of 7. Front of house staff said the restaurant had a strict policy of 6 people and that we could leave. No apologies, no effort to accommodate us. A very off-putting, unpleasant experience. Spare yourself the trouble and go in the many other excellent restaurants in London that actually have staff with manners.

We had heard a lot about this restaurant . However we found the menu extremely limited and extremely overpriced especially the drinks £60 for a bottle of Cotes de Provence Rose , £6 for a small beer .

This is my second visit, amazing both times. Food and cocktails are delicious, chilled out vibe and fantastic service, friendly and attentive. I loved the French toast (the main and the dessert! ) and my 3 friends and I loved everything we ordered! We are already planning our next trip back:-) thank you!

Bistrotheque is one of the better places for intriguing brunches. Spacious, always surprising and offering curious and tasty variations of typical brunch meals, it is a place to visit multiple times.The only thing that you need to have in mind, though, is that if you come late your choice would be somehow limited as often some of the “crowd-pleasers” in the menu are finished up pretty quickly.

We had our daughters wedding reception here on Friday, it was fantastic. The drinks on arrival, the canapés, the 3 course dinner were all superb. Staff were so lovely and attentive.

I visited with friends on a Sunday for lunch, we had the crab egg florentine and beans. Unfortunately by 3pm they had run out of a lot including avocado, so might be best to go earlier. I was shocked to see the soft drinks and mocktails were £7-£9, so expensive and what I would expect to pay for alcohol! I’m not sure how they justify these prices. They don’t make note on the menu what is veggie/vegan and what isn’t, I am a pescatarian and had the beans, thinking they would be regular vegetarian beans, this isn’t noted anywhere and once home, I googled ‘Boston beans’ and to my horror it contained pulled pork. In 2021, this sort of info should be clear on the menu. Other than this, food was really tasty, but I wouldn’t pay £38 for a brunch dish and soft drink again.

Todo lo que pedimos estaba delicioso, pero los schnitzels en particular fueron lo más destacado.Tuvimos un camarero encantador que nos cuidó toda la noche, que fue extremadamente atento y siguió el distanciamiento de covid perfectamente. Incluso se agregó una mesa adicional a nuestro lado para colocar todas nuestras comidas y bebidas para que nunca se acercara demasiado.Si está buscando una comida decadente pero a buen precio, ¡debe probar aquí!

Éramos un grupo familiar que celebraba un evento importante y una de nuestras hijas, que vive en Shoredith, dijo que a veces trae clientes aquí. Este restaurante es tan típico de Shoreditch y es muy molesto. Para quien no esté muy familiarizado con la guerra interior de Londres por el barrio más cool, Shoreditch es un barrio londinense del East End que se cree "super cool y moderno", pero desde fuera, Shoreditch es más "delirante y arrogante". Y este restaurante es una perfecta suma de esto. Primero, luchas por encontrarlo ya que está ubicado en el primer piso de una fábrica / almacén en desuso y no hay letrero en la entrada, solo una puerta metálica abierta, por lo que es imposible saber que se trata de la entrada de un restaurante. . . Le mencionamos esto a la persona que finalmente nos recibió en el piso de arriba, y él respondió "somos el restaurante sin letrero afuera. . . ”. A esto lo llamo arrogancia, pero eh oh. . . especialmente porque cuando dejamos el lugar 2 horas después encontramos otra pareja en la calle exactamente como nosotros luchando por encontrar la entrada. . .La decoración se centra mucho en el blanco (cajas blancas, paredes blancas, lino blanco, sin cuadros en las paredes). Es una interpretación moderna del bistrot francés a la antigua.Ahora, la comida, qué puedo decir, es bastante inconsistente, ya que mi ala de patinaje era muy buena, pero el plato de mi esposo (un escalope de pollo) estaba tan seco y duro que no era comestible. El camarero se ofreció muy amablemente a cambiarlo, pero el otro pollo que trajo unos minutos después no estaba mejor, así que decidimos no decir más. Pagamos y nos fuimos. Teniendo en cuenta que este lugar es bastante caro, realmente NO tiene una buena relación calidad-precio, por lo que no regresaremos.Solo ventajas: los camareros son encantadores y eficientes.

Visité la bistroteca por primera vez hace unos años con amigos para el brunch del domingo y realmente me encantó, el bullicio, el ambiente, el pianista, la comida, todo fue genial. Lamentablemente, mi última visita no estuvo a la altura de las expectativas. Al principio, encontramos el restaurante frío, tal vez porque era una noche inusualmente fría y hay menos clientes debido a las precauciones de covid, independientemente de que tanto mi pareja como yo estuviéramos fríos durante toda la comida. En segundo lugar, el vino, tomamos champán y compartimos una botella de rosa. Era demasiado caro y claramente normal. En tercer lugar, los platos principales, teníamos dos alas de patinaje que estaban muy bien, pero de los cuatro platos de acompañamiento disponibles se habían quedado sin espinacas con mantequilla y patatas dauphinoise dejándonos con patatas fritas y ensalada para elegir, de nuevo, esto fue decepcionante. Solo te irás decepcionado, así que ¿por qué molestarte?Lo mejor del restaurante para mí es que se adapta bien a diferentes ocasiones. Puedes rockear en el bar, sentarte y tomar una copa y charlar y ahí está tu noche. Puedes llevar a tu pareja a una comida romántica, pero igual de bueno es reunir a tu grupo de amigos y almorzar. Por recomendación de un amigo reservamos Bistrotheque para cenar anoche.En la mañana de la reserva, recibimos una llamada telefónica preguntando si queríamos estar sentados adentro o afuera. La pregunta se formuló de la siguiente manera: ¿le gustaría disfrutar de un largo masaje relajante o de un golpe en el ojo con un palo afilado? Así que fuimos por el masaje, es decir, afuera. Más tarde se hizo evidente cuán falsa era esta pregunta: parecía que todos los muebles de Bistotheque se habían movido afuera y no había adentro. "Ouside" estaba en un par de esquinas en lo que parecía ser el estacionamiento de una fábrica en desuso. No obtuvo puntos por estética.La UX (un término que creo que es popular en estas partes) fue realmente horrible: la cola en la calle no se movía rápidamente, el personal no parecía del todo cómodo, ni familiarizado con estos nuevos, y uno solo puede esperar algo temporal preparativos. La comida se pidió de un menú muy restringido (3 entrantes, 5 platos principales, ninguno de los cuales se parecía en nada a la calidad de las fotos de la comida en el sitio web principal, y todos llegaron en cajas de cartón para llevar). La opción era pedir todas las bebidas y alimentos al mismo tiempo: la ventaja es que el laborioso llenado del formulario en línea solo fue necesario una vez, pero todos los alimentos llegaron juntos. We had a great time here for my sisters wedding reception. The food was nice and the service was good. The place is cool and I would like to return for dinner another time.

Always a favourite! Amazing service, great food, & a really cool space! Plus with current situation, tables were appropriately spaced apart to maintain ‘social distancing’ given these crazy times!

Great service and good restaurant for a nice occasion. Good location just along from Cambridge Heath. Excellent choice of wines. Only thing holding it back from 5 stars, is I've had better food for less money elsewhere. But the atmosphere here makes it worth it.

A converted warehouse has turned itself into an elegant, modern dining experience without losing any of its personality and rustic atheistic. The food was delicious (even if the menu was hard to interpret) and was well suited to a enjoyable family lunch. Staff were extremely accommodating; I especially enjoyed the pianist who played some serious bangers throughout our meal. No bargain bucket here, but worth it for a special occasion!

We were a party of 8 for a 30th birthday. All meals were delicious, not trying too hard. We ordered a huge range from the menu; steak tartare to the Bistrotheque brunch, pancakes with bacon and maple syrup, fillet steak and a potato and compte cheese pie. Staff were friendly and helpful and the birthday girl’s chocolate torte pudding was given foc with a candle.

Haven’t been here for a while... I remember it as being noisy and I guess it is when it’s full - it can be very lively and buzzy. That’s a good thing, but I liked it more on a quiet Thursday in January and the food was way better than I remember. Really outstanding, some of it. Highly recommended but pick your time carefully depending on your tolerance for noise.

Hidden gem - incredibly charming staff and absolutely fabulous food. The soufflé with walnuts and truffle cream is a dream!

Went for a Sunday evening early meal with some friends and we had such a wonderful time! We had the Prixe Fixe menu, which was excellent value and so tasty. The restaurant decor is beautiful and the staff were great. We’ll definitely be back!

We live in East London, and we love to come and enjoy a fine meal every so often. Menu is fun, elegant service, hard working chefs! Thumbs up!!

Love the atmosphere of Bistrotheque. The service made us feel welcome and it was overall a nice place for a date or catching up with friends. The restaurant is quite discreet which is nice as it has a hidden vibe. Would definitely come back.

We have been there last evening and it was fantastic!Bread just out of the oven with butter at perfect temperature!My friend is vegan and she had a lot of choice which is great. I went for the tartare (so hard to find in the U.K.!) and the vegan crumble with coconut ice cream as desert, lovely!Wine really good and fantastic service!Definitely will be back really soon

Locale dall'atmosfera molto piacevole che propone una cucina (abbastanza legata alla tradizione e al territorio) ben preparata e presentata. Giovane e corretto il servizio. Conto in linea per quanto offerto. Vale lo spostamento fino a East London.Anche se non ha insegna con google maps risulta facilissimo da trovare.

Sat at the bar for brunch, waited 10 minutes before I was asked if I’d like a drink whilst I waited for a friend. Appreciate it was busy but no one likes to see someone who arrives after them be given a drink straight away, regardless of how well staff know them. Food was nice as it usually is, and there was a lovely buzzy atmosphere. Nice to hear a piano in the background.

Une belle et grande salle d un blanc immaculé (mais pas trop bruyante) où vous pouvez déguster un brunch vraiment délicieux. Le « French toast » est une tuerie et le Regent’s canal juste à côté offre une des plus jolies balades de Londres.

Nice venue - open kitchen and buzzy atmosphere. Such a shame the food didn’t match.
