I visited some years ago. Went for the tasting menu. The food was delicious and perfectly presented. Offering a wide range of tastes and textures. The setting is jaw dropping, nothing else like it in London, and I don't know if anything like it elsewhere in the world. The ceilings are so high that on some days you can't see it due to the fog. With high windows, the restaurant floods with light whilst not having those outside looking in.

Staff were fantastic and the food was exceptional, however no draught beer ( out of gas) then did not have the first choice of wine ( white malbec) missing a trick here, then did not have our second choice of wine in stock. Our visit was thursday lunch the sommelier did not order one of the cocktails that we ordered. Again if it wasn't for the waiting staff doing such a great job , sommelier excluded we would have given a lower star rating

Great location with modern and very classic design elements. Service very friendly, attentive and relaxed. The food was very good, the main course in the menu was my personal highlight. I think it's good value for money but almost a little too expensive. All in all, highly recommended for a special occasion.

Beautiful setting, with plenty of staff, high ceilings and interesting decor. Food 4/5, some consistency challenges. Desserts acceptable at best. £200 per person for a tasting menu (5 courses), no alcohol - seems excessive. Not a Michelin grade cooking. Poor value.

I recently dined at Galvin La Chapelle, and it was a wonderful experience. The pasta was cooked to perfection—el dente and delicious. The service was exceptional, with the two young girls at the reception being particularly lovely. Overall, Galvin La Chapelle offers fantastic food and a warm atmosphere. Highly recommended!

During a business trip to London, I had dinner at Galvin La Chapelle and was fully satisfied. The location is very suggestive and the French cuisine is refined and taken care of down to the smallest details. The gazpacho, in particular, was outstanding. The friendly and attentive staff made the experience even more pleasant. Edit October 2024: I returned to Galvin for another business dinner, and if anything the experience was even better! The mushroom-based menu is delicious, and once again high level service!

The experience was amazing. The service was great. Every 5 minutes, you can see waiters looking over to check up on you. Never leaving you waiting for something. They also frequently clean your table which is a nice touch. The food was amazing. I bought the 7 course tasting menu. Each meal had a flavor that followed another and another. My favorites were the potato dish, a BBQ rib and a chocolate cake with mandarine sauce pistachio ice cream. There was also the bread they brought which came along with some amazing fish butter which combined perfectly with the bread. They have small plates to place the bread and a butter knife to use the butter. Overall a great experience, if someone is thinking of trying out this place go ahead. It'll be worth your time and money.

I spotted the Autumn menu was back and visited again with a friend. Each course was very good showing off the flavoursome mushrooms with some good textures too and the high-quality sauce making you'd expect. I don't normally get excited about fish courses but the grey mullet was surprisingly good. The venison was good and celeriac was a great companion. If the last course is a dessert then the audience will be very divided on that. I enjoyed it but I wouldn't consider it a dessert. Some excellent petit fours appeared while we discussed the dessert question accompanied by a pleasant dessert wine. At 60 pounds including a glass of (decent) cremant it's very good value. I did the matched wines for 94 in total, recommended. I particularly liked the pinot gris, never thought I'd say that. For a dinner I consider the dishes to be slightly too small even with the bread. My friend noticed a few occasional mild wafts of drain smells, this must have been subtle as they didn't reach the other side of the table. There was occasionally a bit of imprecision in the descriptions of the dishes/wines as they were delivered. I'd say it would be 5/5 without those factors.

Absolutely fabulous meal at Galvin La Chapelle. We were given a voucher for Christmas last year and finally got around to using it. We weren’t disappointed! The building is stunning inside. The staff were really friendly and very helpful, the food came quickly so we were never waiting too long for our courses. They brought us out a canapé to start with our sparkling wine. We had Duck Liver Royale and Scottish Salmon for starters, both had the sirloin for mains and and Apple tart and warm chocolate mousse for dessert. This would be a wonderful location for a special night out.

For me, Galvin La Chapelle is the finest restaurant in London in terms of the adaptabiliy and consistent high quality of their cooking and service, and looking after their customers. We have what everywhere else considers extraordinarily difficult dietary requirements and an inconvenience, but Galvin LC appears to see them as an exciting challenge, which they always overcome to create quite beautiful food. The food was good, the pigeon in particular was excellent as was the John Dorry However very chaotic and disappointing service - food menus were only given to us 10 minutes after sitting down, dirty plates took an age to be cleared (we even had to wave at waiters to come clear plates / empty glasses at various points) - not what you expect from a restaurant of this supposed quality and price

First visit. Won’t be back. The building is beautiful but not really over joyed with the service or the food. There was no description of our dishes when they were served. Had to ask for a wine list as not offered. We bought in a bottle of Dom Perignon as a birthday gift for a friend and were told by two waiters that it would have been better if we’d bought a different vintage. Quite arrogant and rude. The duck was tough and the mushroom starter was tiny. Service was aloof. Shame really as it had so much promise. Perhaps the Michelin star makes the staff think they’re better than the customers.

Excellent place to celebrate my partner's birthday. Fabricio, Valeriano (i hope i have recorded the staff names correctly, apologies, if not) and the rest of the team made our experience fantastic from the moment we entered the beautiful, historic building. We felt truly special and taken care of. Food was without doubt delicious, presented beautifully, served graciously explaining all the detail around it. The sommelier suggested a beautiful sparkling wine, excellent to my liking, we did not regret the choice. My partner was positively surprised when the desert with a candle arrived, such a sweet touch and subtle presentation. Everyone made sure that we have the best time, I would not hesitate to going back again and recommending this restaurant. We particularly enjoyed the smooth cooperation between everyone on the floor, everything was orchestrated so well, and we could also see the chefs in the kitchen via the small window, which was quite nice. I visited this restaurant some time ago, and while I’m certain the menu has evolved since then, perhaps this review will still be useful to someone. The location is undoubtedly one of its most unique qualities—set in a repurposed chapel, the ambiance is distinct, blending historic charm with modern dining. The menu was versatile, and as a vegetarian, I had no trouble finding suitable options. While none of the dishes left a lasting impression in terms of standout flavors, the food was certainly pleasant—well-prepared, with clean presentations. It didn’t push boundaries but offered an honest, satisfying meal. What truly elevated the experience was the service. The staff were attentive and professional, creating a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere. We invited guests who thoroughly enjoyed the occasion, largely thanks to the seamless and polished service. Overall, while the food may not have been groundbreaking, the combination of setting, service, and solid execution made for a pleasant dining experience.

We went recently for the 5 courses menu. The decor is very nice, the food was enjoyable, though not exceptional. However, the service was quite disappointing, particularly for a Michelin 1* restaurant. The experience didn’t even match the standard of an average restaurant in London. We waited 10 minutes before receiving the menus, and no one took the time to explain them. Our wine order was a disaster: we requested it three times before it was taken and another three times before it was served, arriving only after our food. The dishes were barely described, with the staff cutting explanations short and disappearing mid-sentence. Given that it was a quiet Sunday evening, this level of service was unacceptable. Unfortunately, I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant, far better options in the area.

The food was great, but I wouldn’t recommend going outside of key times. The sommelier was excellent, but the rest of the staff seemed to be rushing us out as soon as we arrived. We ordered a cocktail and, later, wine, but the first course was served while we were still finishing our cocktails within a few minutes, despite them not being paired. This rushed pacing continued throughout the night, with courses being served without any description from the waiter, until the fourth course when we stopped and asked for more details. This isn’t the usual standard for a place of this price or reputation.

He went above and beyond to give us the experience we needed and wanted. I had booked a dinner for myself and my friend as a catch-up a month ago, but for some reason, the website didn't book the Taste of Summer menu for us. Rocco informed us of this, but then kindly requested the chef to prepare it for us anyway. That was truly the kindest thing he could have done for us. Dining at La Chapelle is less a meal, more a set piece event, where you’re the audience. From the moment you set foot in the Grade II-listed former chapel, until the time comes to begrudgingly step back out into the streets of Spitalfields, the wider world pauses whilst you take in the culinary spectacle. We sat down for my fiancé’s birthday. One of the few Michelin-starred restaurants to cater for, meat-eaters, vegetarians and vegans, we sought out the menu gourmand and its vegetarian sibling. The menus were preceded by a canapé - a small, light bite of gustatory wonder - and the sommelier helping us select our aperitif. We failed to receive a single plate that did not burst with precisely framed colour. The plating was impeccable, the different shapes and colours danced round in the bowl: girolle and deep violet flower atop seared tuna ceviche combined woodland and sea; charred escarole obscured by a foamy sangria viniagrette alluded to a hidden forest of flavours. Every dish combined complementing textures and tastes. It was gustatory entertainment, rather than simply one of three daily meals. Each dish was brought out (almost) like clockwork, and one can only marvel at the show. So many moving parts - the sommelier floating from table to table with a chummy comment and an insightful wine suggestion; the runners ferrying cutlery to the place of each patron whose mouth waters at the coming of the next act; the waiters cruising from the service hatch to the destination, presenting the dish with a flourish of pouring; the head waiter gliding round effortlessly, checking in with each guest to make sure that their evening is made up, his reassuringly unflustered demeanour hinting at his decades of expertise in such demanding environments. We were not left wanting for anything (including bread, of which the offer of another delicious plate was eventually and politely refused). The staff make this place - they have the perfect balance of warmth, friendliness, professionalism, attentiveness, and the knack of seeming conscious that, ultimately, you’re here to enjoy a special evening with your close friend. I have never been to quite so impressive and accommodating restaurant, nor had such competent and artful professionals serve me plates of such mind-blowing pleasure. Sure, the lo-fi house music that is two-a-penny in high-end London establishments felt incongruous, and something softer and more analogue might have better-suited the vibe, although equally it might have not. Ultimately, through La Chapelle, we have been introduced to a novel and magical way of experiencing food. La Chapelle will live long in my memory, and the warmth we felt when the head waiter, Franco, wished my fiancé a good birthday and thanked us for celebrating it with them, I felt like it won’t be the only memory of this place that we will create.

The only reason I give 4 instead of 5 stars for service is there was a longer than expected wait between getting the menu and our order being taken. The rest of the service was impeccable. We are regular customers of Gavin Greenman in Essex and visit this place occasionally, this time with two visitors who we were trying to impress. Food and service were first class as usual. Had the taste of summer menu with the wine pairing. When considering that the Wine pairing is an additional £35 per person, being served essentially small samples of 4 otherwise fine wines was quite insulting and falls well short of the standard that I have come to expect from Gavin over the years. I went for lunch here on a Friday afternoon, after being interested in going here for years. We arrived and were seated promptly in a lovely corner seat with only their Taste of Summer menu on the table with a QR code on it. after that, we waited 25 minutes for an order to be taken we asked for the taste of summer menu, only to be told we couldn’t have it because it was a book in advance thing only, but we could have their set menu or a la carte… at which point we said we hadn’t received any menus yet. 30 mins in, we received the menus for their a la carte and lunch menu. We ordered the three courses with 1/2 bottle of aine pairing and petit fours for £68 which felt like great value. We asked to do half a bottle of white and half a bottle of red. When we asked what the ones were, the waitress said she would get the sommelier to talk to us about it. We had to ask a further two times for the sommelier to arrive, who was able to talk through the wine ably and confirmed the order. The food itself - sea bream carpaccio, pork cassoulet and white chocolate mousse - was excellent. The wine was also excellent. After dinner, we ordered coffee and finished this. Petit fours didn’t arrive until after we had finished coffee, and only after we asked. We were offered a free coffee as consolation but at this point we’d been in there for over two hours - for a 3 course set menu! - and it was far too late to have a second coffee. What could have been a great experience was seriously letdown by lacklustre service. I would very much hesitate to recommend the restaurant to anyone despite the excellent food and reasonable prices due to this.

All dishes very well balanced, excellent in flavour and fantastically presented. Exceptional value and a great wine to boot! Thanks so much and keep up the great work. Ps the building is incredible also.

Our lunch on 11th August was a delightful experience. The reception from the minute we walked through the door was friendly and warm. The ambience is classy and the high ceiling gave it an openness and sense of space. The service was attentive, friendly but professional. The food was exceptional ( loved the butter) and well presented. It is not cheap but I felt that I got my money's worth. This place is highly recommended.

Pretty good Michelin starred restaurant in the vibrant Liverpool Street , ideal for the “Michelin taster” in terms of price, quality and overall atmosphere ; service lacked at places , but has not ruined the altogether view! We opted for a la carte menu , as had gift voucher to spend , but there are set menus , and veg menus available as well , which both caters for a variety of food preferences , but also variety of wallet options . We have lined out our allergy and food preferences during booking and those have been adhered to impeccably ; all dishes discussed with our lovely Italian waiter (sadly didn’t get his name, otherwise would mention here) Starter was Dorset crab raviolo with bits of caviar and beurre blanc - now I was pleasantly surprised to see my raviolo being filled with crab to the t , normally you get tiny bit and plenty of empty in that raviolo. Main course was Hereford beef chateaubriand which we shared for two , cooked to our specification , comes with roasted baby potatoes and beef drippings sauce - wonderful , classic done well is a respect to classic , which is great to see ! To close of , we had Amalfi lemon tart with liquorice ice cream ( not a fan of liquorice myself one bit , but this was light and tasty ) that came with variants of coconut and agave for texture . Food wise , nothing to complain , tasty, classic - well presented food ; one often misses this in the great overwhelming times of new ways of cooking , re - imagining of well established dishes etc . My one negative would be all service at times ( not by our main station waiter , but other staff that were bringing the likes of bread etc) . But , did it ruin our experience ? Absolutely not! We had voucher for 250£ and we have fully exercised it , without alcoholic drinks , but shateaubriand did cost 130£ out of 250£, which means if you avoid this , and opt for fish or chicken main course , you would end up with even smaller receipt ;)

My wife and I come here every year for a tasting menu and they never disappoint. We loved our meal this time around, the charred watermelon gazpacho was the start dish of the night for both of us! The wine pairing is fantastic and we love the journey we are taken on describing the wines, why they are paired and what flavours to expect. The team really go the extra mile in service and make us feel welcome every single time and the food is luxurious, elegant and delicious. Such thought is given to every bit of food on the plate and that's why we come back year after year. Thank you again for a wonderful evening, we'll be back!

Thoroughly enjoyed the summer tasting menu with wine pairing, which was exceptionally good value Service was exemplary from the minute we walked through the door. A couple of the wine pairings didn’t quite work for me, but I enjoyed the wines without the food The only dish I was unsure about was the dessert, the liquorice ice cream didn’t work with the Amalfi lemon tart for me. However the ‘take on a cassoulet’ was very very good, if only I could make sauces like that To make it perfect, the wines should have been poured in larger glasses, which they did for us, once I asked. The small glasses were killing the aromas of the wines and the white wines were served way too cold, but that’s a common complaint of mine! But all in all we had a wonderful time, and it’s such a beautiful venue

We got the 5-course tasting menu (taste of sumee 2024) First four were delicious The last one (Amalfi lemon tart) was standart The bread and butter were completely different I think the only drawback is that there is no isolated hand washing area I think washing hands while looking at the toilet is unpleasant

Franco and the team were on top form looking after us as we indulged in “The Taste of Summer” menu with matching wine flight. Wonderful food and difficult to choose what course we enjoyed the most. The wines were expertly chosen and are great value. Highly recommend for any occasion.

First time visit, great low key atmosphere and attentive but invisible service. Tried the summer menu in which most combinations hit the mark for me apart from one. Wine pairing well worth the journey. Well presented and paired. Will come again.

Always love coming here, the food is delightful and original with combinations I wouldn’t expect work but do. The service is amazing too, I always feel like a VIP. So helpful with food intolerances, and manage to be both personal and relaxed while attentive and professional - clearly a great team.

4 of us dropped in to share a bottle of wine after we went to a nearby show. It was so noisy inside that we asked to sit outside, after we ordered the wine at the bar. It was their house white and cost £38 which is the cheapest bottle they have. We offered to take the wine out with us and they said no, someone would bring it out. They did, whereupon they opened it and filled all four glasses to the top. We did ask them to stop, as not all of us were drinking as much as the others - I only wanted half a glass as I was driving. But by then it was poured out. We redistributed it. They didn't bring us water or anything else. We asked for the bill and paid it- afterwards I noticed they had charged us £4.75 service charge. I should have checked the bill at the time of course and I'll be more careful next time. I won't go there again.

Porciones pequeñas y sobrepreciosas - más estilo que sustancia ¡No recomiendo! Ni siquiera pude encontrar el lugar - no hay señalización para las personas que no son locales
