The Retreat

Grassington, Craven, <20£
14/07/2019: Gave this 5 stars on my first visit. This time, although the quality was good it wasn’t great. Had the mushrooms on toast but it was dry and just came on one very small slice of sour dough, for nearly £7 or £8. Standards have dropped so only giving 2 stars this time. Hopefully a bit of a nudge to pull socks up, not take customers for granted and get back on track
11/07/2019: Great food and yes you can get a beer or wine as well as all kinds of teas.

The Corner House Cafe

Grassington, Craven
10/07/2019: We stopped off in Grassington whilst visiting the Yorkshire dales. There were plenty of cafes to choice from but we decided on the Corner House cafe for it's menu options especially for vegetarians.I chose the veggie sausage sandwich and my wife had the garlic mushroom panini both were great. All the food we saw looked excellent especially the cakes and the salads which were well presented.I would highly recommend this cafe to anyone not just vegetarians.
04/07/2019: Probably the best cheese salad I have ever had! The presentation is beautiful and really makes your mouth water. There was no need to struggle cutting up large chunks of apple as it had been careful sliced into bite sized pieces and there were lots of little tasty extras to add to it. The cheese is not the typical crumbly Wensleydale you'd expect but a really smooth, creamy texture with a beautiful subtle flavour that was the perfect pairing to the little slithers of radish, pickled onions and cucumber twirls. Good value and will look forward to trying the chicken one when we next visit.

The Game Cock Inn

Ingleton and Clapham, Craven
15/07/2019: We stayed on the campsite nearby and because this inn is closest to that site we eventually went here for two dinners and sunday lunch. We wanted to enjoy our last holiday dinner here as well but this plan was turned down because I had not made a table reservation.
14/07/2019: Very high standards, both food and service excellent. Value for money and definitely recommend. We tried the house special menu but olenty of hoice reasonably priced.

The Old Post Office

Ingleton and Clapham, Craven
11/07/2019: Visited The Old Post Office while staying in Ingleton. The hosts were very welcoming at this friendly little bar. A lovely little bar serving an excellent range of ales. Very well decorated with lots of things to see......the room behind...has an interesting array of weaponry.!!..and there is a secret garden at the rear. Was quite busy when we were there....so get in early if you want a seat!!!...
04/07/2019: Quirky and interesting bar with a good selection of gins and beers. And a very helpful barman! Definitely worth a drink here.

Craven Heifer

Penyghent, Craven, 20-30£
16/07/2019: What a lovely place to spend the night after a good day's walking. Our room was clean and bright with lovely silk poppies - a touch of summer.
25/06/2019: We chose to eat here because of the excellent reviews on TripAdvisor. They weren’t wrong! This is a friendly little pub, with welcoming staff, and a good choice on the menu. We both had the lamb shank, and it was one of the best I’ve had for a long time. Other customers‘ meals looked equally appetising.

Rozi's Tandoori House

Grassington, Craven
09/07/2019: The final evening of a four day trip hiking around the Dales brought us here to Rozi’s, a very small and cosy upstairs restaurant, also apparently good for takeaways as well according to our B and B hosts. One of the nicest curries I’ve had in quite a while, a great tasting lamb rogan. Bring your own alcoholic drinks, they do soft drinks. On busy nights you might have to book as there’s only room for four or five 4 person tables. Next time we’re up this way we’ll be back here without fail!
30/06/2019: We visited Rozi’s last week , it’s only a small restaurant but wasn’t busy so no trouble getting a table.

La Cascada

Ingleton and Clapham, Craven
04/07/2019: Called in without a booking and got a table no trouble. Really lovely meal and a nice bottle of wine, would definitely recommend.
04/07/2019: Very tasty tapas, with plenty of choice. Home made breads. Good value, friendly service. We wanted a light meal, served quickly and got just that, without feeling at all rushed. Veggie, meat & fish options all tasty.

The Old Vicarage Tea Room

Settle and Ribblebanks, Craven
13/07/2019: Came to the old vicarage tea room as I took a wrong turning and glad I did. The chicken & mushroom pie was brilliant as was the lamb & mint.
08/07/2019: We stopped off here for tea and excellent deserts, having seen other reviews. Some recommendations from locals and a very extensive menu means we will definitely be back for a longer visit! A place with a really good ambiance.

Springfield Tearoom

Grassington, Craven
17/07/2019: Arrived for a late lunch after a lovely walk north of Grassington. Dirty boots were not a problem and we were made to feel very welcome. Enjoyed fish finger butties outside on the patio - brilliant. Highly recommended.
11/07/2019: Nice tea but a much-depleted selection of cakes - none of them enticing enough to order. Rather disappointing

Bernies Cafe

Ingleton and Clapham, Craven
08/07/2019: We found Bernies when looking for some lunch before doing the waterfall walk, and it's certainly not your average Dales cafe serving the usual food. We found the menu to be very good with more than a hint of American. I had a Reuben, my wife a falafel wrap and our son a grilled cheese sandwich and all were excellent. The loaded fries are superb! Try it if you're looking for something a little out of the ordinary.
04/07/2019: After all the good reviews we were really disappointed with a bitter cup of coffee and a not particularly fresh mass produced toasted teacake. Will go elsewhere next time

The Old Hill Inn

Ingleton and Clapham, Craven
05/07/2019: Six of us had a wonderful meal here on Tuesday evening. Great service, really well cooked food and imaginative and well presented desserts. Enjoyed it so much that we returned on Wednesday evening for a repeat performance and we were all equally impressed. Recommend for great food, friendly service, old world ambience and good selection of beers.
16/06/2019: Used to camp here when I was younger. Returned as a group of 4 for a lovely meal, small menu but all reasonably priced. Puddings are a must!

Talbot Arms

Settle and Ribblebanks, Craven, <20£
17/07/2019: We were in Settle on a week's break and ate here most evenings. All of the meals were first class, but the venison burger, chicken grill and the lasagne deserve a special mention. A good choice of ales, lagers and ciders available, we tried a few and were never disappointed. A very welcoming pub, very friendly staff, would highly recommend. Should also mention the desserts, we only had one each, but they were great, the gluten free chocolate cake was incredible.
17/07/2019: We arrived in Settle which seemed deserted at 7:30pm hoping to find a meal. We chose the Talbot and we are glad we did. I think everyone in Settle were in this pub as it was packed. Chose simple pub grub and it was superb and very reasonable.
