The Retreat

Grassington, Craven, <20£
09/03/2019: We have been here a few times and the food is gorgeous and consistently great. I am wheat and dairy intolerant and they have loads of options for me including yummy desserts. My meat eating husband loves the food. The staff are always welcoming and friendly. I would recommend this cafe to anyone especially if they have dietary requirements.
08/03/2019: The only reason I wanted to leave this review is because I wanted people to know that this place makes the best tuna baked potato in the world. I couldn’t keep this information just to myself.

Springfield Tearoom

Grassington, Craven
03/03/2019: What a lovely find in Grassington. Such a greeting on arrival from really welcoming and helpful staff. Out toasties were wonderfully presented without much delay and were really enjoyable to eat. Can highly recommended this charming tea room.
03/03/2019: Have been here twice and took some friends from Surrey. They were very impressed - one had the toasted corned beef sandwich with chips which he loved ! I had ham sandwich and coffee. The chips were amazing ! The owner is very friendly and very attentive . He brought our dog biscuits and a fresh bowl of water. It is definitely a must when walking from Burnsall to Grassington! I have given up bringing a picnic !

Tea On The Green

Barden Fell, Craven, 20-30£
05/03/2019: This little cafe never disappoints! We have visited several times and the food and service are always top quality. The homemade soup is delicious and the cakes a real treat. We misjudged the timing of our walk last Sunday and arrived tired and windswept just as they had closed- they kindly wrapped us up some treats (vegan brownies) to takeaway and even offered to make us a coffee.
20/02/2019: The team did the catering for our son's christening and it was excellent. We have been regular visitors to the tea room and always impressed by the range of home made cakes so asked if Cath and Stuart could provide cakes and snacks for the celebration in the nearby village hall. We were blown away by what they did and found the price to be very reasonable, especially when compared to what we had been quoted for our other son's christening a few years ago. Cannot recommend highly enough.

19/03/2019: Me and my family come here about 3/4 times a year and have never had a bad meal! The steak frites are to die for! The steak is always cooked to perfection and you can tell it isn't cheap steak! Another think I highly reccomend is the salmon dish. Again, such fantastic ingredients. If you want a good meal in skipton then I will always recommend here!

06/02/2019: Lovely little restaurant, lovely food and staff. Would come back and would recommend to family and friends
05/02/2019: Very good meal in the small upstairs restaurant section. Soft drinks available but you have to take your own alcohol as not licensed....a good point to note if you like a beer with your curry.

Luby's

Glusburn, Craven
27/11/2018: We booked here for our daughters birthday after having had afternoon tea ourselves (see other posts). The staff really pulled out all the stops; we had an Alice in wonderland theme & they provided all the props including tiny cake domes with cupcakes in. The food for the children was perfect and they even provided a pass the parcel & party bags all for £8.50 per head. Our daughter and her friends had a fabulous time, we will deffinately do this again. I could not praise this lovely tea room enough.
14/11/2018: How this place has changed again! Run by a lovely girl and her mother, truly delicious food that is reasonably priced . Retro feel and very fun for children, well worth a visit 😊

The Tempest Arms Restaurant

West Craven, Craven
15/03/2019: We’ve been to The Tempest Arms a number of times for a drink as it’s a lovely pub. Last night we ate there and had a really superb meal. The food was excellent and piping hot, the service was great and the staff very friendly. Will definitely go back again to work our way through the menu!
08/03/2019: Went here because doggie friendly (haha) over priced wine and food not that good usually just had a drink and eaten elsewhere but on the odd occasion i ate here found the food bog standard. Carpets and decor very worn and grubby. Staff not that experienced seem to change them on a regular basis. No we would not go back the owners dont like the truth.

Elaines Tea Rooms

Ingleton and Clapham, Craven
17/03/2019: The two of us just popped in for a cup o’tea and a slice o’cake whilst on a walk. From our arrival to our leaving, the service and hospitality was perfect and the food, well... Passed on the cake and had a really tasty fruit scone (that’s scone as in “gone” ), homemade and served warm with cream and jam, well it would have been rude not to - divine. Will definitely make an effort to revisit when we’re in the area (which is fairly regular). Heartily recommended.
09/03/2019: There is nothing pretentious about this place if ever there was an establishment that was more hospitable and accommodating I haven,t seen it. Walkers with muddy boots, dogs, very elderly slow and frail, the little ones with picky ways doesn’t matter they will make you feel welcome and feed you well. The food is generous good home cooking, locally sourced, the waitresses were attentive ,respectful , fresh faced local country girls. Over the last number of years we have visited from Canada and nothing has made us feel more in the heart of the Dales than here. The small lane you drive up to get there rewards you with beautiful views. The farmhouse atmosphere is heartwarming. My advice is book because you don,t want to miss out. Fabulous food p.s. save some room for the crumbles, pies and cakes they offer
