Waterside Inn

Bray, Windsor and Maidenhead, >100£
13/04/2019: We had lunch at The Waterside Inn to celebrate a very special occasion. The service is out of this world, the food sublime and all in a magnificent setting. It was simply perfect. I advise booking to avoid disappointment and leave yourself plenty of time to enjoy this great eating experience. Whilst it is expensive, it is worth every penny.
13/04/2019: We had amazing experience with our friends. Very expensive but beautiful. The staff was very helpful. Quality of the food was very good. Excellent view.

Castle Without, Windsor and Maidenhead, 20-30£
15/04/2019: On frequent visits to Windsor, we head straight to Meimo for a delicious evening meal. Lovely staff, exquisite food and atmospheric ambience. Can recommend the sharing meze dishes in order to enjoy as many tastes as possible.
15/04/2019: Easy to find and a nice feel inside. The staff were helpful and very good to my 10 month old son. Food arrived quickly, it looked and tasted great, potions could be been a bit bigger. Would go again

The Dew Drop Inn

Hurley and Walthams, Windsor and Maidenhead, 20-30£
13/04/2019: Great atmosphere lovely food and brilliant host thoroughly recommend it also dig friendly which was great for us as we had three dogs and nice thing was we wernt hurried out
07/04/2019: Pretty much everything served up was low grade food. The meats were very very fatty, everything came at different times, kids cheese burger was worthy of a photo. Friendly staff but clearly were over stretched, waited over an hour for the main course to arrive after the starters. Dogs had a great time and a lovely surprise treat.

The Oxford Blue

Old Windsor, Windsor and Maidenhead
07/04/2019: Heard lots of good things about the Oxford Blue and so glad I went. Service was faultless and the food was divine. The beetroot cheesecake was really fun and the cotes du boeuf was the best I have ever eaten. Will definitely be back!

The Fat Duck

Bray, Windsor and Maidenhead, >100£
17/04/2019: A restaurant that really needs no introduction, I had been trying to book this for months, if not years, but with all places being sold within a minute or less of them going on sale, it really is very challenging to get a table. The “experience” (for that is certainly what it is, not just a meal) starts a few weeks before hand with an e-mail asking you to fill out a questionnaire such as favourite childhood memories. Apparently this customises the experience somewhat, but we couldn’t really think what to put and so left it, consequently I can’t comment on how effective this is. Then a week or so beforehand you get a phone call with your “storyteller” to go over things in more detail, including and likes or dislikes. Although I can’t imagine that anyone who’s fussy eater would choose to go here. I mentioned a dislike of offal and got a long spiel about bone marrow (whipped in to a foam and spread in a sandwich), ox tongue (in a consommé) and duck heart among others, but there was really no concern at all, portions are obviously small due to the number of courses, and there are so many other flavours going on, that it’s really not an issue.
14/04/2019: Let’s start with the given .... Heston Blumenthal’s The Fat Duck is somewhat of an institution in Bray and has been around since 1995. He is known for bringing his childhood food memories to the table, by dreaming up innovative and very much science driven ideas to translate these ideas into the dishes he served. These end up being dished such as crab ice cream or having you listen to the sounds of the ocean through earphones out of a seashell whilst enjoying his fish course. The entire experience is about involving all of the senses so you’re completely immersed in the meal and the adventure he is taking you on. It’s about story telling, playfulness and theatre. Some of these ideas appealed and wow’ed us, some just came off as slightly gimmicky and felt like they were sacrificing the actual flavour profile of the dish.

The Drawing Room at Coworth Park

Sunningdale, Windsor and Maidenhead, 45-60£
09/04/2019: We visited on the afternoon of April 9th for Afternoon Tea. I have never received such stunning service - from my first phone and email enquiries with Lisa and Mardi, to the attention received on the day. I was treated to Afternoon Tea for my birthday and it was absolutely delightful! A special thank you to the young ladies who served us, in particular the lovely Lauren. Their service was very attentive (but not obtrusive), smiling and friendly - just impeccable. We had the vegan Afternoon Tea, which was very well thought-out and absolutely delicious. It's fantastic that Cowarth Park are incredibly flexible with all dietary requirements. The choice of teas is amazing and I was very kindly allowed to try two different ones as I couldn't decide! I was also treated to an extra little cake with 'Happy Birthday' on the plate - so appreciated! We could not have enjoyed our experience more and will definitely be back. This is such a classy place and not be missed!
20/03/2019: Afternoon tea or a light lunch in the drawing room at Coworth Park, need I say anymore, delightful, simply delightful.

The Bull Inn at Bisham

Bisham and Cookham, Windsor and Maidenhead
13/04/2019: We were taken here with friends and had a thoroughly enjoyable evening and meal. The food was brilliant, indeed some would say too much. The had served vegetables was a nice touch, rather than a fully plated meal. Go again, you must!
10/04/2019: Celebrated my cousin's 60th Birthday in this beautifuly decorated restaurant. The food and service was excellent. The steaks were huge and succulent.Portions were large. Everything was hot and beaufifully presented. Amazing dessert trolley. The staff were excellent and tentative and nothing was too much trouble. Very helpful with children's meals. Everyone had a wonderful evening, which none of us wanted to end. I liked everything about this restaurant. Would definitely go back again and so would all our family and friends. Thank you to the wonderful Carmen and her staff for making my cousin's birthday special.

Cinnamon Cafe

Castle Without, Windsor and Maidenhead, <20£
08/04/2019: We dropped in here on a recent visit to Windsor for a Coffee and Cake.I had Carrot cake which was up there with the best and my Wife had Victoria sponge which was a much smaller slice than mine.Portion sizes varied quite a bit but the quality is there.Even though my Wife asked for a coffee with cold milk we were given hot milk,I don't mind but attention to detail counts. Friendly staff all smiling happily, would recommend the cakes though and happily return for more.
29/03/2019: Outstanding cinnamon buns and great coffee! Central location for all four seasons. Definitely worth a visit!

The Pinkneys Arms

Pinkneys Green, Windsor and Maidenhead, 20-30£
14/04/2019: Went for a family meal with four kids, two dogs and five adults. Sat in the barn which was very funky and chilled and our kids played outside safely until it was time to eat. Food was delicious...we had starters and roast dinners. Our veggie family member had nut roast and said it was amazing, we all had lamb, pork or beef., all delicious.
07/04/2019: We went here today after seeing reviews on the roast dinner and were not disappointed. It was really tasty. Lovely roasties and a great choice of chicken beef lamb or pork so suited all tastes. Will def go back.

La Sorrentina

Sunninghill and South Ascot, Windsor and Maidenhead
13/04/2019: Went for a romantic meal lovely food, staff and surroundings. Would definitely recommend this quant little restaurant in sunninghill village.
13/04/2019: Our daughters kindly suggested we go on a date night tonight So hubby and I headed to our favourite Italian restaurant where they were as excited to see us as we were to see them! Thank you team for a wonderful evening x As always, you make us feel welcome, food delicious, highly recommend xxx The days of Teddy Freddy seem long ago, I might start bringing him myself! Picture is of the “doggy bag” we brought home for hubbys breakfast, 15 year old just inhaled it!

The Belgian Arms

Bray, Windsor and Maidenhead
31/03/2019: An upmarket local pub, that is really a restaurant with a bit of room for casual drinkers (unless you want to sit outside) with a good range of beers, wines and cocktails.
30/03/2019: Possibly the best steak I have eaten for a long while, tender, juicy and cooked as requested. Superb french fries. Could not have asked for a better meal. Service was highly professional, discreet and attentive. The atmosphere was smart and relaxed and we all agreed that we will certainly be eating here again.

The Tablespoon Brasserie

2 offers
Sunningdale, Windsor and Maidenhead, 60-100£
03/04/2019: We had a wonderful 21st birthday celebration for our daughter here recently. We held the family dinner in the private dining room, The Pantry. The whole dining experience was a huge success - the assortment of varied dishes ordered were delicious as were the accompanying wines. Esha and her team ensured the whole celebratory dinner was organised and carried out to perfection. From the start of organising the event to the actual fruition of the special day, Esha was highly conscientious and obliging. At all times Esha and her team were polite and cheerful.
24/03/2019: What a lovely evening meal had by the three of us. The service was very good as was the food too and we would highly recommend. The menu had good choices with something for everyone. We will be back!

Shurlock Inn

Hurley and Walthams, Windsor and Maidenhead, 20-30£
08/04/2019: Our first experience of the Shurlock Inn and their ‘ROAST FOR TWO’ (see pic attached). On both counts we were far from disappointed! As we entered the pub it had a welcoming busy atmosphere, which is always a good sign. The staff were very friendly and the service was excellent. The ‘Roast for Two’ was superbly presented and delicious. There was more than enough for two people and we would highly recommend it. We look forward to returning soon.
01/04/2019: we love going to Shurlock Inn food & staff are great but we only go for special occasions as it's not cheap went Saturday 30/03/19 for mothers day and although our waitress was good she was the only one! serving everyone they could really have done with at least 2 more staff

Sebastian's Italian

Castle Without, Windsor and Maidenhead
16/04/2019: We ate lunch in this restaurant, the food was delicious, good service, pleasant place Highly recommended
13/04/2019: As others have said a hidden gem. We arrived yesterday just before they opened at midday. By 12.45 the restaurant was nearly full. Ordered a pasta dish which was absolutely stunning and a pizza equally as nice. The staff were extremely welcoming. The chefs cook inside the restaurant with a huge clay oven which adds to the authenticity of an Italian restaurant. Would highly recommend a visit. We will definitely be back.

The Royal Oak

Hurley and Walthams, Windsor and Maidenhead
14/04/2019: Visited in 2018 and had a lovely experience, very good food and service. This time (April 2019) wasn't so good. The waiter (young French man) served wine to my friend with his arm right across my face! He was very rushed and seemed impatient, and then dropped dirty cutlery on my wife when hurriedly clearing the table.
09/04/2019: Another good lunch. The food is well prepared and the service warm and friendly. Starters and main courses were good with the slightly sweet pickled veg accompiments to the pigs head fritter delightful. For a dessert try the passion fruit soufflet- brilliant.
