Piper's Pitch

Longhoughton, Northumberland
18/06/2018: The Auchtermuchty was incredibly tasty and the proprietor was friendly & courteous. Would strongly recommend Piper's Pitch if you're in the area.
15/06/2018: The other half and I had enjoyed a walk to Dunstanburgh castle, happy in the knowledge that refreshments would be available on return to the car.

South Jesmond, Newcastle upon Tyne, <20£
21/06/2018: Such a lovely place, baby mozarella starter was amazing and the Nonna Maria malloreddus was like being back in Sardinia! The staff are attentive and happy and the food and wine are sooo good
20/06/2018: Went on the spur of the moment after the restaurant we were meant to go to had closed its doors. Really impressed. Very similar to Panis in Newcastle city centre (the staff here used to work there.). Slightly worried about the 'Sicilian/Scottish' menu (!!) but all the food was great. Small and intimate, very much a local bistro (don't go expecting 'fine dining') but do expect a lovely time.

Di Meo's

Whitley Bay, North Tyneside
20/06/2018: Great place. Excellent service and food and ice cream to die for. Atmosphere superb and very courteous and friendly staff.
19/06/2018: A good location just near the beach. The ice cream is excellent and the pizzas are brilliant! Haven't tried the pasta but it does look good.

Simbla Indian Resturant

Westgate, Newcastle upon Tyne
19/06/2018: The Simla is probably one of the finest Indian cuisine I've ever had! I should not be suprised by this as I have been using this establishment for many years. In that time it has never let me down and being a "curry head" I like to try many of the dishes on offer. On this occasion I had a starter of garlic mushrooms on puree, the mushrooms were done perfect and not over cooked and the garlic not over done with a soft puree. Onion Bhaji was light and crisp. The main of Chicken Vindaloo was perfect and spiced perfect for this hot dish. I really can't find anything negative to say about this restaurant...keep up the good service.
18/06/2018: One of the top Indian restaurants if not the top one in Newcastle. (In my view anyway)

The Village Tearoom Alnmouth

Lesbury, Northumberland
17/06/2018: My parents and I nipped in here for a coffee before exploring the Alnmouth Arts Festival.
16/06/2018: Stopped here for a late lunch. I had a lovely bowl of soup and my friends had fresh crab 🦀 sandwiches 🥪 lush! The staff were lovely and so attentive to the dogs as well as us!!!! Definitely visit again. 😉

The Craster Seafood Restaurant

Longhoughton, Northumberland
18/06/2018: Eat here if you can... go out of your way if necessary! All the dishes we saw looked great, but we chose the fish and chips... so glad we did: lovely fresh white flaky haddock with beautifully cooked (fluffy inside and crisp outside) chips. Just totally delicious! And prompt service from friendly, attentive staff. An absolute highlight of our holiday.
18/06/2018: We visited The Craster Seafood Restaurant on a recent stay in the village and the seafood served here was a highlight of our trip. The restaurant is small but busy – all tables were booked when we rang to arrange a table but the friendly owner/manager opened half an hour early to accommodate us – so don't expect to just turn up and get seated. Unsurprisingly, given its name and coastal location, it specialises in fish dishes and there are daily specials dependant upon the mornings' catch.

Guisborough, Redcar and Cleveland
21/06/2018: Great meal, some unique dishes, along with some unusual ones and some classics. Really good service. Well worth a visit.
18/06/2018: Great tapas washed down with a splendid red in an informal yet high quality restaurant. Relaxed Mediterranean feel to the place with very knowledgeable and attentive staff

The Raby Hunt Restaurant

Heighington and Coniscliffe, Darlington
17/06/2018: We had been wanting to try here for a while and finally got the chance. We booked the chefs table which added to the experience and I would highly recommend doing so if available.
16/06/2018: Very knowledgeable and friendly staff, very relaxed and comfortable atmosphere but most of all absolutely incredible food. We have dined in many Michelin star restaurants home and abroad, this is up there with any of them and indeed our current favourite.

Low Lights Tavern

Tynemouth, North Tyneside
11/06/2018: Absolutely splendid summer salad added to the menu. In addition to the usual very good home made dishes a really special salad has been introduced for summer; honey smoked salmon and prawns, plenty of really tasty fresh honey smoked salmon and juicy prawns in a sumptuous varied salad and marie rose dressing. Incredibly tasty and different excellent value for money.
10/06/2018: Only been twice but the service is excellent. Staff were friendly both times and the food was beautiful had me beat both times will definitely be back

The Manor House Inn

South Tynedale, Northumberland
17/06/2018: With very little notice the Manor House owner managed to give us a table for our family of 9 today! Brilliant service from the bar staff and got all our drinks delivered in no time. Starters were utterly delicious....mackerel with strawberries my total favourite and the Scotch egg was a firm with others. Moving on to the main courses....most of us had the Sunday roast.....beef was done to tender, served with amazing vegetables. Desserts finished the meal yummy chocolate brownie, while other had superb rhubarb crumble. Thank you all for a lovely meal for our family. Oh and I must say it was a cracking Malbec. Cheers
12/06/2018: We has a table booked at 8 pm Saturday night with friends, when we got there we were told there were no fillet steaks, no vegetarian dish , no lamb and only 2 belly pork left which didn’t leave a great deal of choice as menu fairly small , we felt this was a little ridiculous as it wasn’t particularly very busy. We then ordered our starters then after 10 mins we were told actually they had ran out of them to ! , however the mains that we did have were lovely as were deserts. After the meal we were offered coffee which we ordered 2 , waiter than came back to say we couldn’t have a coffee as coffee machine was turned of at 10.15 and it was now 10.25pm as they close at 11 , at this point we had all had enough of the lack of customer service from the waiters and also the lack of apology for all the inconvenience. The day after I emailed the restaurant to make them aware of our poor experience to be more or less told it was our fault for not complaining on the night ( which we did) however manager more or less implied we must be lying as she had asked her staff of whom both denied it. I am absolutely apauled by the managers response surely trying to keep people’s custom is highly important when running a business.we certainly won’t be returning which is a real shame as a little more customer care would of gone a long way in making the night much better.

Whitley Bay, North Tyneside
19/06/2018: A must for your stay in Whitley Bay. The friendly greeting is just the beginning of a truly memorable night.
19/06/2018: I love love love this place, i have been many times, and have not once had a bad meal, the food is fab, the staff are fab, this place is my favourite place to go for an indians

St Aidans Restaurant

Bamburgh, Northumberland
21/06/2018: Beautiful views and the food is excellent. The chef is very talented and we will definitely go back next time we are in Seahouses. All the staff are very good at their jobs, very efficient, polite and just really nice. I loved the decor too and would like to stay there another time. I also recommend booking. The warm apple & cinnamon slice was the best! Well done to all the team there
18/06/2018: Situated on the seafront this bistro has superb views towards Bamburgh castle. It is exactly what a bistro should be with a limited but varied menu with well cooked and executed dishes. Flavour combinations are well put together by the young and very competant chef.

Lezzet Turkish Restaurant

Benton, North Tyneside, >100£
19/06/2018: This is the first time we have eaten Turkish Food and this restaurant was fantastic. It is such a shame that it is not local to us. Food was delicious and the service was excellent.
29/05/2018: The food was okay only downer was that the lamb chops weren’t well cooked and the meatballs as the main were too much for my liking. But the starters and everything else was lovely! Such a nice place 😁

The Old Post Office Bistro

Amble West with Warkworth, Northumberland
09/06/2018: My second time now to the old post office and it’s superb. Had the ‘special’ crab samosas with mango salad followed by the chicken skewers, both were delicious. We shared a couple of deserts between 4 of us and can heartily recommend the cheese board too.
04/06/2018: On the way home from our holiday we normally stop here for food. Menu is varied and there are always good priced deals. No exception this time. Staff always friendly and helpful. Meals well prepared and freshly cooked.

Socrates At No 5

Morpeth North, Northumberland
16/06/2018: If there was a prize for getting as much food on a plate a possible, this restaurant would win hands down. Sadly volume comes before quality.
11/06/2018: This was recommended to us so we thought why not!!
