The best restaurants in Maldon East of England

I took my daughter as a special treat for an afternoon cream tea it was amazing! Beautiful tasty fresh sandwiches amazing cakes and scones, Service was fantastic Chloe our waitress was great nothing was too much trouble always smiling & happy checking that not only us but everyone in the room was okay. Mrs Salisbury’s is absolutely fantastic we will be back very soon.

Delicious is all I can say! A cheese scone with cream cheese, chives and chutney for £3.50! Quirky place. Friendly service. Great

Excellent service from phone booking through visit the following day. Lots of choice on the menu and ability to cater for intolerances including the combo of gf with df! Good location.

We enjoyed the Sunday roast recently , it was very tasty and plentiful, looking forward to making it a regular thing over the coming winter!

Emily and Laury run a fantastic coffee shop in Burnham-on-Crouch. The coffee and home made cakes are wonderful as are the savouries on the menu. It is so much more than a coffee shop though. As a meeting place it is second to none, the weekly pizza night (delivery based) is the best around and if you want special orders for particular events or occasions then they will go above and beyond to give you what you want. We have used them for a variety of occasions and Peaberries never fails to deliver a top class product and experience. Simply first class!

What a lovely little find! We were going to go elsewhere, but Essex Highways decided to close off most of the roads out of the Dengie on the same day and roads out were chaos! We actually live in a nearby village and had seen the signs to Manor House, but had never been. Relaxing decor, wonderful welcome and service. Food was great (recommend the smoked salmon bagel) and didn’t have to wait long. Lovely friendly lasses working there, homemade cakes and bread pudding , clean and welcoming….What’s not to like?

Can never fault them. Always friendly and always consistent with their food. And I've tried a handful of different things from their menu. If you haven't tried their new menu, you have to try their smoothies. Their mango smoothie tastes like summer and is my new addiction.I often get their stuff to take away and am never disappointed

Absolutely unreal. We have been coming here for a few years now and it never disappoints. I literally crave the food here . Make sure you eat outside the restaurant in the summer and watch the sun go down over the sea .

Great food and hospitality, if you really love your curries I would recommend that you visit Kings, authentic Indian food. Not like normal Indian restaurant serves authentic Indian food only no chicken tikka masala so you have an opportunity to try something different. Fantastic service and they will help you with your choice of dish, I have my daughters with me who are not spicy food lovers so the owner brought out 3 small dishes for them to try before they ordered. The food was exceptional and cannot wait to return.

Sadly disappointed. Wanted a couple of pots of whelks but advised we’re still frozen. As were the prawns & cockles. It was 1pm.Chise to have a bag to go. While waiting asked for 2 oysters to enjoy at the small stand up table. Oysters were opened and prepared and offered to me on nothing. I asked if there was a plate and after waiting the oysters were again offered this time on top of a square metal pot of ice. They were delicious. I also noticed how other customers had the same frozen issues with one electing to have crab/fish sticks. The sticks were picked up by hand and bagged as the gent serving did not seem to know another way.

Just had wonderful cappuccino and amazing coffee and walnut cake , this place is so so much better than anywhere else locally , a good selection of food and a friendly atmosphere . Highly recommended , pay them a visit and have cake

If there’s one thing I know from my first-class days, it’s how to spot top-tier service and great food—and the tapas evening at Cap & Feathers in Tillingham did not disappoint. Four of us touched down for a night of food and fun, and we were in for a treat! Every table was packed, and yet the service was smooth, with friendly staff and that fire roaring away, adding the perfect cosy touch. Now, onto the food: prawns, chilli chicken, beef, and a paella that made us want to stay grounded for more. Those dishes were the stars of the night, bursting with flavour and seriously good value. It’s not every day you find a menu that matches the quality you’d expect at 35,000 feet! A special shout-out to Dave, the chef, who came out for a chat, making sure everything hit the spot. It’s those personal touches that make all the difference. And with the music and buzzing atmosphere, it felt like a full-on fiesta—no turbulence here! Honestly, it was an evening where everything came together perfectly—great food, great company, and even better service. I’ll definitely be booking another seat at this culinary flight!
