Superb meal in this charming restaurant. The proprietors are very experienced in their field and the whole dining experience is how it should be. One of the best meals I’ve had in a very long time. Will definitely return next time I’m in the area. The scallops were the best I’ve ever had.

What a lovely find for nice food and not overpriced like the bigger'chain' garden centres I ordered a combo meal of tuna mayo sandwich and tomato+basil soup and 'other half ordered a piece of quiche (again a very generous portion) and 'coriander+carrot' soup Both soups were much more generous than the places where the price is double what we paid here and my sandwich had lots of filling and was in lovely seeded bread The staff were all lovely and very friendly and welcoming Will defo call here again- sorry Strikes you need to take a leaf out of their book and have a look at the portion sizes and prices that you provide

Nice place and lovely atmosphere. Shame about the food though. We went for breakfast, and both the drinks and food took quite a long time to arrive, even though there were several waiting staff walking around. My mother-in-law’s poached eggs were hard-boiled, and my Yorkshire breakfast was already a bit cold when it arrived.

Great service as usual from a family run restaurant. Staff very friendly and attentive. Food is always to a very high standard and the desserts are sublime. Definitely worth a visit. There is also a farm shop with lots of various products to buy and also now a Candy Store.

What a little gem of a cafe. Breakfast service is personal and welcoming. The menu was taylored to my choice and so tasty. Yet to enjoy the evening menu but it always looks so warm and welcome when I drive by in an evening.

We have been regulars at the Bay Horse for many many years, but feel the need to write a review. We are finding that the portion sizes have decreased quite significantly and the prices have increased by a couple of pound per dish over the past couple of years. Most notably the large Parmo is way smaller and the half parmo is literally half of a large one but not half the price! The portions of chips have also got smaller. The cheesecakes which they make themselves, although delicious, are now half the size and the desserts have gone up to £8.95 which is now ridiculous. We would always have ordered a dessert each in the past, but now only order one between us if we feel the need to have one at all. It is such a shame that things have changed as we always looked forward to a great meal at the Bay Horse, and it WILL be noticed by regulars. Instead of making more money they will be losing money. We don’t visit anything like as much as we used to.

The staff behind the counter were very rude and grumpy. What a disappointment. I ordered three large tubs and one small. Whilst the lady was preparing my ice creams I asked if I could change the small one to a large but she didn’t respond. Once outside the shop I realised that the woman on the till had charged me for four large tubs. I went back in to point out the mistake but she refused to change the small tub for a large. After a very grumpy response she finally agreed to give me a refund for the difference. This was extremely bad customer service and the ice cream was frankly disappointing. In future I will be going to Pacittos in Redcar for a lemon top instead.
