Had lunch and dinner here whilst staying at the hotel Leeming Wells next door. A vast menu of delicious, home cooked high quality food, lamb Henry to be recommended. Large portions, hot and service brilliant. Canāt recommend enough. Great atmosphere and very friendly and efficient staff who are working so hard to give customers the best experience.

Not fine dining in tge culinary sense but fine dining in the nice pub sense. Friendly staff who made me welcome even though the kitchen would close in 15 minutes. Good service carried on even though it was the end of a long day for the staff. Good views too.

This place seems to divide opinion judging by the reviews but we thought it hit the spot nicely. Yes, the owner does invite you in if he spots you looking at the menu but we felt able to walk away, check a couple of other places and come back with no pressure. Sat out the back where there is lots of Bronte and Railway Children memorabilia on the walls. Even on a dreary day there were decent views over the valley towards Crossroads. In the summer the terrace would probably be lovely. We had homemade lentil and vegetable soup each, two sandwiches served with salad, pot of tea, bottle of water and a toasted tea cake for Ā£25. For Haworth thatās not bad. Food was served quickly and was good, solid, no frills stuff - ideal for a grey autumn day.

When ordering our food to eat in the cafe we were told that it would take about 30 mins until the food was ready (only soup and a cold sandwich) but the people that came 10 to 15 mins after us received their similar order straight away. In fact they had ordered, eaten and left before ours came. When it did come the soup didnāt taste of anything and the sandwich was so dry that I couldnāt eat it. We werenāt given any cutlery or sauces or told where they might be and had to queue up again to ask. After finishing our meal I went back to the counter to order a cupcake. I wasnāt asked if I was eating in or taking out so it was put in a paper bag, which I didnāt mind. I took it back to my table and started to eat it when an older lady from behind the counter came to our table to tell me, extremely rudely that I hadnāt paid the extra to eat it inside and thatās why it was put in a bag and not on a plate. Her manner was very curt and unnecessary for the extra pence that I hadnāt paid. I felt humiliated as she ātold me offā loudly in front of everyone else in the cafe. It was obvious that we had paid to eat in there from all our empty plates and drinks (paying Ā£40+ ) and that I hadnāt done it on purpose. Customers really shouldnāt be treated so badly. I wonāt be returning there and wouldnāt recommend it at all. Thereās much nicer cafes with better staff in Haworth.

Four of us had dinner at Haworth Old Hall on a busy Saturday evening and right from the start one could see the team's friendly professionalism in practice. The menu offered a good choice of reasonably priced pub-food, all of which lived up to expectations. But when it came to dealing with my lactose intolerance (actually more serious than a standard intolerance), I was blown away. Our server (can't remember her name - possibly Jodie) insisted that I approved the ingredients list for my meal, which was odd but totally in my interests, of course. When the rest of our party had their food delivered, I had to wait an extra 15 seconds or so for our original server to bring my meal. This, she explained, was because it was policy that any meal with special dietary requirements was only ever discussed, prepared and served by two people - one chef and one server - to eliminate misunderstandings and miscommunication. Having suffered badly (very seriously on one occasion) from such miscommunications in the past (in other establishments), this practice was a welcome and eye-opening initiative. To top off my lovely meal, the chef managed to find me some tasty lactose-free ice cream in three flavours that wasn't on the menu. Take a bow team - you deserve it :)
