This place seems to divide opinion judging by the reviews but we thought it hit the spot nicely. Yes, the owner does invite you in if he spots you looking at the menu but we felt able to walk away, check a couple of other places and come back with no pressure. Sat out the back where there is lots of Bronte and Railway Children memorabilia on the walls. Even on a dreary day there were decent views over the valley towards Crossroads. In the summer the terrace would probably be lovely. We had homemade lentil and vegetable soup each, two sandwiches served with salad, pot of tea, bottle of water and a toasted tea cake for £25. For Haworth that’s not bad. Food was served quickly and was good, solid, no frills stuff - ideal for a grey autumn day.

The Owner is proactive in attracting customers, his keen eye spots the hesitation as you look around for somewhere to eat. His humour adds to the excellent food on offer, it is great quality and well priced. An added bonus is the restaurant being Dog Friendly.

Probably the worst place I have been in the last ten years! The food was mostly burnt and it tasted awful. No one asked if our meal was ok. I mentioned it was burnt when paying and was told I should have sent it back! It should never have left the kitchen! The person outside who may have been the manager was stopping people walking past trying to get them to come and eat. Two ladies said they were quite scared as he was confronting and bossy. This is a shame because Haworth is a lovely place to visit.

Got to be the most uncomfortable place that I have ever stayed. From the flippant greeting to the bed that kept myself and my partner awake all night. Asked for coffee with breakfast and got tea instead. When my partner informed that we had the wrong drink. She was scowled at. I would not recommend anyone to stay there unless they love a really poor experience.

On arriving an older gentleman who worked there told us to go inside and find a table somewhere. As my husband and I were just walking in the owner it seemed burst over and said “ where do you think you’re going “ ? Taken aback I said “ I’m so sorry but your colleague told us to come in and find somewhere to sit “ He said “ I will show you “ !! We were then handed dirty cutlery in a sheet of paper no better than a piece of tissue / toilet roll. As pensioners, if we hadn’t been hungry, thirsty and in need of a sit down to rest we would normally have left. The food was tasteless and not offered anything like sauce or mayo etc to try enhance it. The poor staff looked so down beaten and losing the will to live or even try offer a smile. All the while the same owner stood with his arms folded watching all staff and customers as if making sure NO ONE put a foot out of line. Such a disappointing, hostile atmosphere to both work and eat in for such a good location. On leaving we were made to wait awkwardly to pay the bill while the same owner continued chatting away to someone else with his back to us. On such a nice day in lovely Haworth we didn’t want to get into any discussion / fearful argument about our experience and spoil our day out. All I can say is if you like being spoken down to, treated as if you don’t exist and are back in school waiting to be disciplined you will fit right in with the owner ! What a sad establishment spoiling such a nice place like Haworth !

The guy who invited us in as we walked past seemed quite jolly, but when I went in, with face mask on as required by law he was very sarcastic, pretending he couldn’t hear me and saying “we’re trying to be normal in here”; very poor. The tea and cake were, however, good. We returned later on for lunch. A boy told us upon entry that hot food had finished; fair enough. We sat down, the same guy as before came up and asked us what we wanted. When we said about no hot food he said “who said that?”, then went and checked something, came back and said (in a very rude way) tell me what you want quickly”; we just had tea, got out quick and won’t be returning. Rude service (from one guy only) and disdain for the Covid rules.

2nd time we have stayed at this quaint, beautiful place. The brothers who run it are do friendly. They can't do enough for you. It's obvious how good it is because most of the guests had stayed here before as well. Its location is perfect, being right in the middle of the bustling street, where there are plenty of pubs, restaurants and quaint little shops. The price is very reasonable. The rooms are spacious and clean. Plenty of towels. A hairdryer in the room as well! Breakfast was lovely, especially the bacon. Won't hesitate to stay here again.

The Apothecary Guest House is above the old apothecary run by Betty Hardacre who supplied Branwell Bronte his lethal doses of opium. The downstairs apothecary is now a soap shop selling soaps and soap salts in all sorts of mindboggling shapes and sizes. But that is a separate shop. The Guest House is run by a duo of brothers Nick and David, who was 64 when I was there, and couldn't believe it. Nick manages the overall running and David cooks and serves the meals. Breakfasts were sheer joy with David serving love and friendship with steaming hot eggs, toasts, beans, sausages and strong Assam tea. The Guest House is on Main Street up at the top in front of Haworth Church. So, if you want to spare your legs a steep walk up the hill with your bags, you should get off the bus from Keighley at the bus stop called Doctor's Chambers, which is the NHS clinic, at Heathcliffe Mews. Go across the car park and up the little lane onto Main Street. Turn left and walk to the church crossing, and the Guest House is on your left. There! The views of the Worth Valley from the dining room are spectacular. I was there during the September full moon, and I admired the moon all evening and night from my room window. In front of the Guest House is the old Hartley's Post Office and Shop, run by Margaret Hartley. Her great-grandfather established it in 1796, and it was here that the Brontes came to mail letters and collect letters and parcels. "Our Margaret" is a walking history lesson, and she will tell you all the old stories and gossips nuggets you don't find in books. What Margaret misses, David fills in! You can pick up second clothes in gorgeous styles and colours from The Souk, run by Diane. They are very reasonably priced, and you can land yourself a chic outfit for a song. The Souk is to the left of The Guest House, next to The Black Bull, Branwell's second home.

This is not the Ritz, but it offers the genuine service of being served by people who are interested to offer food while away from home. Everything was prompt and served warm and the general feeling is that of being at someone's home not a branded tea room or restaurant which is attached to a hotel.

We couldn't get anywhere near our favourite Cobbles and Clay cafe for queues, so decided to look elsewhere, and as we approached the top of the main street, a guy wearing an apron practically dragged us in, with promises of a seat and great food, so we decided to give it a go. The acid yellow walls, with black painted windows was a little alarming, but each to their own! We were taken to a table in the room at the back of the building, resembling a sort of conservatory add on, but with absolutely wonderful views. We ordered hot beef in a roll with gravy?! and bacon rolls (without being offered a choice of bread) tea, and a glass of water. A young waiter brought cutlery, plonking it into a pile on the sticky table, so not the most hygienic start. We were very hungry by the time the food arrived, so even the sight of a cheap white bread roll filled with beef, sitting in a pool of gravy, didn't put us off completely! My daughters were able to eat the top half of the roll, the bottom was a soggy brown mess, and the beef. The bread is advertised online as fresh daily, but it doesn't say where from, probably the cheapest from a local supermarket. The bacon was chewy, and again served in a horrid cheap white bread roll. The tea was ok, the glass with water marked, probably from a dirty dishwasher. To top it off, when paying at the till, the little elderly lady was trying to add up the bill in her head, at which point the whole experience reminded me of a scene straight out of 'the acorn cafe' with Victoria Wood and Julie Walters! Come on Apothacary Tearooms, you have a prime spot in this very popular tourist destination, with a fantastic opportunity to offer great food in a clean and potentially attractive environment, it's not that difficult, you just need to make an effort, or maybe you think people like us who can't get into the better places at busy times, will simply make do with the way below substandard crap on offer at yours!

First visit to Haworth in over 35 years and we decided to sit out in the lovely Autumn sun watching the world go by after some gentle persuasion from the owner David. Situated at the top of 'Hovis Hill', we were served promptly despite there being seven of us and the Roast Beef and Gravy roll was fantastic with the beef just melting in your mouth. The banter with David was great especially when we told him where we were from and what we did for a living. Called in late afternoon before setting off home. Ordered cream tea which included 2 scones, butter, jam and cream. On the table next to us a couple complained about their coffee and that the scones were a bit stale. When ours came they had been warmed up making them soft and a bit 'claggy'. The portions of butter were small and given the scones were warm did not spread far. There was one small plastic carton of jam which might have been sufficient for one scone and a small dish of cream. Thankfully the tea was ok so was able to wash most of it down. With so many other places in the village to choose from ( been to a few in the past but like to try new places) don't think we will be returning.

Una vez que nos registramos en el hotel nos llevaron a nuestra habitación doble con baño en suite. Stayed here for two nights with ten friends for one of their 50th birthdays, it was a nightmare from start to finish! We arrived to a note on the door stating no-one was available to let us in - we know Haworth well so went to a local bar to kill time, suitcases in tow. We were eventually allowed in and shown our rooms, this was after 4pm.That night the owner came in drunk and knocked two of my friends out of bed as he'd forgotten his key!!! He was very drunk but did apologise at breakfast. The second night he caused great disturbance in the corridor again waking four of my party and became very annoyed when told he was being unreasonable, to which he replied "put it on Trip Advisor"! At breakfast his brother had to apologise for him as he was nowhere to be seen. Rooms were dated, my shower was absolutely hopeless (room 3), and others stated their rooms were dirty. Food was lovely, however, being watched over eating your breakfast was unnerving! All in all a great weekend with a fabulous bunch of girls but I'd never stay in this establishment again.

Like Derek H, we were also passing and the proprietor was so persuasive that the Roast was good value for 6.20 with pudding included! There were 3 of us, two ordered the Roast whilst I ordered a vegetarian dish. I made it clear that only two would like the main with pudding so that mine will only be 5 pounds. What a shock when the food came - on a Yorkkshire pudding were some veggies and 3 paper-thin slivers of roast beef with runny gravy! Not wanting to make a scene, we carried on without complaining thinking the pudding will make up for the atrocious misrepresentation. When we asked for the 2 pudding, only one came brought by the young girl helping out. She insisted that should only one pudding! She disappeared and the elderly lady (mother of the proprietor as was introduced to us) came and gave us a funny stare and disappeared. A few minutes later the second pudding arrived. When my niece went to the counter to pay, the elderly lady charged us extra for the second pudding which was included in the roast set menu and also charged for my meal as a set menu when in fact, I did not order neither did I get the pudding!! When she was queried, she got agitated, so my niece just paid and left. All in all, not a pleasant experience, so unacceptable that it left such a bad taste in one's mouth. What could have been a positive experience in Haworth has been tainted by this meal. I do hope that other service providers in Haworth do not practice this modus operandi.

We were passing and the proprietor said that gluten free food was provided, however the mature lady that served us said "they don't get much call for it" so my wife went hungry. We should have left then but I ordered scrambled egg on toast with sausages and whilst the scrambled egg was OK, the toast was white rather than brown and the sausages cheap, chewy and very small. Frankly not a good experience and annoying as when we walked down the hill a couple of doors away was another establishment offering gluten free on their board outside!

Not an obvious choice, as its tucked behind another building as you come down the steps of the church to the left of Rose and Co. Apothecary, but the owner spotted us and invited us in. Really friendly staff and lovely, reasonably priced food. Good for lunch or just coffee and cake.

Good service they were straight over as soon as we sat down and it was busy. Food and drinks came relatively quickly. Nice selection of sandwiches and soupas well as jackets. Their speciality is various fillings in a Yorkshire pudding. Nice cup of tea too. Great view out on the country side from the back room, well it would have been if we could have seen it for the rain.

The cafe we normally use was closed so we ended up here! The food & drink quality was very poor quality and possibly warmed up or kept warm for too long. The fizzy drinks didn't taste like premium brands and there wasn't much fizz either! No food allergy information on the menu.Beware! Gluten free not well catered for here, owner not sure what's ok and what's not but will check each item... We found this process time consuming and embarrassing. We would never go here again :-(

I will start with the very few good things about this cafe. Friendly swift service, clean and spacious toilets and beautiful hilltop views. That is all that is good. I would call this more of a transport cafe rather than a tea room. By today's standards, there was very little on offer on the menu except that which you would purchase from one of those vendors in a lay-by. I ordered a jacket potato which was over done (probably pre cooked and warmed up) and also not warm enough. Very little effort had been made in terms of the awful side salad which consisted of one small slice of tomato, one slice of cucumber and a small amount of the awful iceberg lettuce! The coffee was served in a tall mug which wasn't hot enough, and to cap it all, a large jug of ice cold milk was put on the table for four of us to use in the tea and coffee! We were not offered warm milk.I should have realised not to go in this cafe as the owner waits outside to draw people in. A good establishment should not have to hound people to go in.The whole place is dated and in need of a refurbishment. Some floral soft furnishings would be an improvement together with new menus which looked rather grubby. My friends had soup and a roll. They complained about the bread being very dry and to me it looked like bread fingers from a cheap supermarket packet.Needless to say, none of us will return to dine here. I recommend you go to the bottom of the hill where there is a nice looking coffee shop which looked very inviting.

Had lunch here today. Had soup and sandwich. The soup was very nice. The bread for the sandwiches was very dry. There was a mix up over my party's bill. The owner was very rude. Firstly they worked out the bill to be more than it should have been. I wanted to pay my share of the bill with my debit card. He worked mine out to more than it actually was, albeit only by 20p. He got quite irate and said "is 20p so important to you". We had left a tip and no 20p wasn't important to me, but his attitude was. He was outside his establishment touting for business. This place was at the top of the hill as we approached the village, and he obviously wanted to catch tourists before they got further down the hill where there were a lot of other eating places. Not a pleasant experience.

As always Haworth is a charming village , and at the top of Main Street ( cobbled street ) lies a hidden gem directly opposite the black bull pub and the bronte's church ! This is the apothecary guest house and tea rooms , it has a stunning view over the worth valley , it is a family run business for over 25 years and is a very friendly place indeed , the Sisley brothers David and Nick along with Margery there mum offer every hospitality and always greet there guests with a hot cup of Yorkshire tea , the guest house is clean and has all the amenities you would expect including TV and tea/coffee making facilities , large rooms with en suite facilities in each room bar one ( room 4 ) but this has a super are private bathroom . The breakfast is a traditional English breakfast with as much tea and toast you can eat and the breakfast can be tailored to what you want too .as for the tea rooms they serve all sorts of food through the day and it is all very reasonably priced , can't fault this establishment at all , if you want something then the sisleys oblige happily . Try the apothecary guest house and the tea rooms . We go at least twice a year and stay here each time , it's great value for money and it's as friendly a place as love seen

Call in for a bite to eat and and brew over Easter. The restaurant was clean and busy. Our order was taken and we waited for the Drinks. This is where it all went a little wrong, the drinks order arrived wrong and when questioned the lady doubted I had asked correctly, despite other members of the family quite clearly hear me order Coffee and hear her confirm it , we ended up with a cold drink. This was finally rectified and we awaited the food. again this came wrong, and I ended up with different food than ordered, only for the waitress to doubt my order again, this time a check of her pad confirmed my original request. It all seemed a little like a Victoria Wood sketch and to top it off the food that I ended up with was nothing to shout about with tasteless soup and dry cheese sandwich. Would I call Gain......No plenty of other over priced eateries up Main Street Haworth that can at least get the order correct.

This beautiful building caught my eye, as did its unusual name. Apparently, the Apothecary was frequented by Branwell Bronte in his day. If he were to pop by today, he would not be disappointed! The view I had from my window seat was wonderful, lots of greenery. I had a lovely cup of coffee and the staff were friendly and welcoming. The menu had lots of yummy food on it and if I had time, I would have stopped by in the afternoon for lunch!

We have been to the Haworth Christmas Market, saw the cafe as we came out of the carpark and the Owner was greeting people in his Christmas Suit of the 20s, we said we would walk the market and call on our way back And I am glad we did, the other cafe's we so small and cramped, we had a pushchair and granddaughter with us, We were greeted with a Right Yorkshire Welcome, we asked if they minded us bring a pushchair in, He said of course not (unlike at lot of the others who said NO pushchairs), he saw us to a table asked if we needed a high chair which we didn't, Menu were given and asked would we like some hot to drink, Yes Hot tea's around, it was a cold windy November day, Tea arrived straight away and our orders taken, Menu of the day, LARGE yorkshire puddings with Roast Turkey, Stuffing Balls, Carrots, Potatoes and peas, lots and lots of gravy, a place was brought for the granddaughter so she could have some of ours, she was also given a little cup of cool tea for herself, once we had finished, the plates were taken and the pudding menu came, choice, Christmas pudding, Apple Pie, or Tart and custard, cream of ice cream, My Christmas pudding was lovely, lots of fruit and brandy in there.. All the time the staff were excellent, asking if there was anything else we needed, We were not rushed at all. Once people left, plates cleared away, NEW clean tablecloth put on the table... Lots of room to sit, Not squashed at all... Yes I would definitely be calling again. Thank you for your Right Yorkshire Welcome, We will certainly be telling our friends.

Good points - great location opposite the church with a lovely view of the main street. Breakfast room very bright and cheery with lovely countryside views and friendly service.Bad points - the room had a very strong chemical citrus smell when we first arrived which must be some sort of cleaning product, it was pretty overwhelming and unpleasant and the next day I had to go and buy some joss sticks to try and get rid of the smell. :-(Rooms and bedding were clean but the beds not particularly comfortable and I struggle with lower back pain so felt stiff in the mornings. Pillows were also a bit flat. Feel like I'm being a bit picky here but if you suffer from a bad back then a firm mattress and good pillows are pretty important for a good nights sleep!Breakfast was plentiful and filling but a little lacking in taste.Overall for the money this is a very good little B & B and I would definitely stay here again.

We cant comment on the interior as we had booked for 2 nights through Late Rooms and received confirmation, but when we turned up after a 5 hour drive from the Highlands of Scotland, he informed us that we couldnt stay because Late Rooms had messed up.....He found us 1 night accommodation elsewhere but it was highly unsatisfactory and was only for 1 night when we had wanted to stay in Haworth for 2. He claimed he had tried to call us but the number wasnt correct, but even if the number was correct we had no signal where we had been staying. His attitude via email since has been extremely uncommunicative leaving us to contact Late rooms to try and sort out what happened. He claimed this had happened several times so to any one booking this guest house I can only stress that you MUST call him immediately to confirm he hasnt double booked again. Late rooms inform us 'We are doing our best to make sure that any human errors are eliminated from the booking process by instructing hoteliers on how to manage their availability effectively.' Our visit to Haworth was completely spoilt by this. My marking of the restaurant is not accurate as I couldnt submit this with out giving a rating...I have no idea how good or bad it was.

We stayed at the hotel for the night so we thought it was easier to eat in the restaurant before we went out as we had an event on at Dalby Forest. When we checked into the hotel we were asked to let them know if we would be having dinner in the restaurant, we said we would be but wasn't sure what time, that was all fine but they said it might be busy. We went down to the restaurant around 6pm and it was dead. There were quite a few in the sports bar but the restaurant itself was empty. There were 2 waiting staff on who both spent most of the time looking at their phones. The menu online was entirely different to what was given to us in the restaurant. The online menu made the food sound a la carte but it was pretty basic, usual pub grub menu- steak, burgers etc. I ordered a medium rare steak and my partner had a burger. My steak was OK and it was probably medium rare but it was quite tough and bland and nothing to be excited about. I cannot remember the exact amount of the total bill but we did think at the time that it was a bit over priced for what it was. Wouldn't recommend unless that's your only option to eat out. Not impressed.
