Visited Salty Dog yesterday. Not been for a few weeks (avoiding the school holidays). Greeted, as always, by friendly owner and ordered a bacon and egg roll and cheese wrap. Both as delicious as always. Thank you, we will be back again soon. I would not normally comment on other reviews but might I suggest to the person who knew they would need to take medication that they take a small bottle of water with them on their visits out and about (as we normally do). There is always the option to actually buy a drink too. Shouldn't be relying on others to provide what you can do for yourself with just a little thought beforehand.

Visited this place during a weekday when not busy. Such a joy. Good food, great staff. Visited on a Sunday. It wasn't actually that busy. Couldn't try the food as the table ordering service was closed and the male staff member who served me at the bar was indifferent. It was 1pm so not late or too early. Poor staff member made the visit a poor experience overall.

This is a marvellous place. Such a lovely warm welcome when you walk in and it is like stepping back in time safe in the hands of experience. The menu is simple, well priced with something for all and very tasty as well. Spotlessly clean. I would recommend and look forward to returning.

Went for the steak meal 2 meals and a bottle of wine £30. We opted for no wine so the 2 steak meals were £25. On first entering the pub we were greeted by some men sitting at the bar. One of the men could not string a sentence together without a swear word between even word. His language was very bad and he was very loud and did make the place seem rather uncomfortable. We decided to stay. When the meal arrived, the plate was overflowing. Sirloin steak chips tomatoes mushrooms and peas. The steak was cooked to perfection. ( I have rare, hubby has medium rare). The steak was so tender and tasty I have never had Sirloin so good. The barmaid told the man to curb his swearing as there were people eating and did not want to hear his language. He did stop for a while, but he did become quieter. I would definitely recommend this pub for a meal. Do not take the pub at face value. Not only is it value for money but the food was amazing.

Called in at lunch time, clean and tidy and welcomes dogs. Decent menu, I had a lovely jacket potato filled with tuna and a nice salad garnish including coleslaw. Hubby had ham, egg and chips. Only observation here would be use carved ham not packet, as a slice of packet ham is slightly disappointing. The prices were very reasonable and the young lady serving was very pleasant
