Reflections Bistro in Teignbridge

I eat here regularly, and am always pleased with everything. The food is always of consistently high standard, as are the drinks. Nice coffees with different milk options. The staff are all friendly, helpful and understanding, and the owner is exceptional. Customer service top notch. Would recommend this place to everyone. Best place to eat and drink in Dawlish.

We stopped here for lunch. My son is allergic to fish so that ruled out the chippys in the town. However we were not disappointed to call in here. The food was delicious! Even for my fussy child!! The whole family absolutely loved the food! Staff were brilliant too, so helpful and friendly! Would definitely hurry back!

We as a family go to Dawlish every year and found this restaurant and I fell in love with the homemade pie. They were very popular as we were told we should reserve them which we did before coming down for our holiday. This year we were all looking forward to our meal of course the adults all ordered the pie. But we noticed something missing this year, we were brought our plates with the pie and mash and wondered where the vegetables were. We were told no vegetables are with this meal yet there always was before. The pie was again lovely but the mash had hard undercooked lumps in it. We were ready for desert but half were now missing and it was virtually just cake from a glass unit. Ok so we ordered different slices of cake for all of us and it was all dry and stale. Coming to this restaurant was one of the highlights of our holiday and we were left disappointed. The two stars of for the pie and staff but I'm afraid the restaurant has lost my customer I can only think it has changed hands but not for the better it used to have high standards

Having read some of these reviews these people can not be eating at the same place I’m at. This being my third visit I have received nothing but polite staff attention and excellent food. It is a small understated gem and we will certainly return to enjoy their menu again.

Found this lovely place when visiting Dawlish. Food was lovely staff were very friendly and helpful. If I lived here, it would be somewhere I would visit regular.

Excellent little restaurant- we came as a family of 4 the children’s menu is good but the full menu is even better a nice balance between tradition and grill menus- I chose the sea bass with stir fry vegetables and my husband had the steak and grilled chicken combo- it did not disappoint. The home made desserts were delicious. The staff were friendly and attentive. We will be back!

We popped in just before lunchtime, looking for Brunch and it was glorious. The staff are excellent, helpful and professional. My request for extra’s (fried bread with breakfast) was no trouble and the food was marvellous.

Poor food... Fish and chips were bog standard... Not sure if the battered fish was from a packet?.. Left an unpleasant after taste from the oil it was all cooked in. We was also charged for a meal that we didn't have due to it being sold out. We only realised this after we had left.

Called in here on the off chance as we hadn’t booked a table. We really fancied a roast. It was midday and they only had one table available so that was lucky. Very friendly staff. Food brought to your table. I had pork and my husband had beef. We thoroughly enjoyed it. The deserts were lovely too. Glad we went in when we did as they had to turn people away. This seems to be a very popular little bistro. So my advice would be to book your table. You’ll not be disappointed. Will certainly be returning.

We were recommended this place by a bus driver acquaintance. What he told us was true! the service was friendly and prompt but not pushy, the menu was varied so there was no problem finding something to suit us both. I had lasagne and my wife had a vegetable and feta panini, both were tasty, we also had a pot of tea. Portion size was good , not small and not too much. The restaurant is spacious and comfortable with good toilet facilities including wheelchair access. It fell to me to pay the bill, and what we paid was good value for money for freshly prepared food, we both agreed that we will visit again when next in Dawlish.

Very good restaurant! It was recommended to us and we are passing the message on. Service was excellent. Food was really good, very tasty. I was too full to have a cake, and if we had more time would have called in a different time just for a drink and a cake. The prices were more than reasonable. If we are in the area again we will return.

Looking for a cup of tea and piece of cake and struggling having not realised that some of the tearooms in Dawlish close very early on a Monday afternoon Reflections saved the day. We were tempted by the desserts along with a cuppa. Shame they weren't open in the weeknight evenings or we would have paid a return visit.

Two good size scones with lashings of clotted cream and oodles of jam! Although they ere very busy - extensive menu by the looks of the other tables - the service was quick and food fresh . Best value sit don cream tea we could see in town

My Wife and I had dinner here Friday night and was very pleasantly surprised by the great menu selections. The food we had was really well cooked and delicious. Service was friendly and efficient. We really enjoyed our Dinner and drinks. Thank you .

Brilliant service as usual, my kids love this place too, high top bays for privacy, food is cooked fresh I usually come on here for the breakfasts they are tasty! You would think you’re in a weatherspoons but better!!! Highly recommend a visit.

What a lovely cafe we popped into on our holiday whilst looking around Dawlish town. Generous portions of cream and jam which went down a treat… delicious.

We went to their recent Greek night and would thoroughly recommend. The food was excellent and plentiful and the staff were efficient and friendly. We would definitely go again.

Had a wonderful meal there last night - we walked in without prebooking and got a great table! We have 4 month old twins and the staff very kind & extremely accommodating and made us feel at ease saying there was no rush to eat, the kitchen would wait for us due to us feeding the twins. Food was superb - the homemade steak & mushroom pie was the best pie my husband had ever eaten! Very reasonably priced too. The restaurant needs to sell this place more as it wasn’t very busy for a Saturday night (which was ideal for us as a family during these current times) as it is a little gem of an eatery!

It is not just about the tea bag. Read On.My wife and I met some friends for coffee and decided to stay a bit longer to have a pot of tea and some food.I ordered Earl Grey tea but when it came it was a bit wishy washy so I went up to the counter and asked if I could have an extra tea bag. I was told I would be charged extra and asked how much to be told she did not know. Thinking it could be anything up to 50p I went back and enjoyed my tea.When we came to leave the lady who served us, the tea bag lady, told the lady on the cash till we had more tea cakes than we had. This was quickly corrected and a final payment was requested. As there was no bill I asked how much the extra tea bag cost and was told £2.25.This seemed unfair so I asked to speak to the owner and was told it was the tea bag lady, the same lady who claimed not to know the cost and tried to charge us for an extra tea cake.

We have only lived in Dawlish for a few months and are still discovering eating venues .We had family visit the weekend after Christmas and decided to eat lunch at this restaurant. A pleasant atmosphere and attentive staff. All our meals were very good, well cooked and delicious. A good menu range offered. My daughter in law has Crohns and therefore diet is very important, the staff and chef were very accommodating. We will definitely be returning.

Wanted to try this place after the reviews. However we found it to be ok. Bit like a 70s restaurant, bright lights cafe style. Would be nice to make lighting dimmer for evenings. Food was ok. We both had chicken dishes, the chicken was a bit dry sauce was ok. My supreme sauce was not that flavoured just ok. Not enough sauté potatoes so left feeling a bit hungry. Sweet was old fashioned crumble and nice. Tried it but unfortunately disappointed. A lot of elderly women there so maybe it is aimed at this market.

I visited with my parents today.They both had the house special and I had a cheese ploughman's. All three meals we lovely. The side veg that came with my parents meals were cooked beautifully.The place was clean and beautifully decorated, and we were looked after very nicely. Cannot fault them!

One of the best meals I’ve had. Tasty, perfect and well presented. It didn’t stand a chance on my plate!!After seeing it as one of the closest and highest rated restaurants on Trip Advisor we opted for Reflections as a quick decision. We arrived at 5:00pm and were told the evening menu didn’t start until 5:30pm. We were invited to sit and have a post-promenade walk coffees and teas whilst we waited. This gave us plenty of time to ponder over the wide variety of simple, yet mouth-watering dishes. The staff were exceptionally polite and patient staff - my family had lots of requests! The ambience and decor is lovely; bright yet subtle and relaxing. I couldn’t decide over seafood tagliatelle or seared salmon. The waitress suggested Salomon which arrived quite quickly. The lime and ginger sauce was amazing and the fish cooked to perfection. And I mean that, sincerely. Sautéd potatoes and veg topped it off perfectly. Family had a variety; steak, pizza and the crepe de la creme of seafood salad. Calamities is such a touchy and hit and miss food but this was fantastic. A large portion, well cooked, slightly too salty if I’m being picky but great meal with scallops and prawns. The pizzas, even ‘boring old’ cheese and tomato were delicious. Chatting to the manager (we think) everything is home made to order as it should be, including the tomato topping sauce and pizza dough. It shows. Desserts were fairly standard choices, but amazing in quality. Chocolate cake with fudge sauce and clotted cream was actually lighter than all I’ve had before. The sauce was thick and tasty but not too rich. At £120 for 4 adults and 2 kids with drinks and the preceding coffee, teas and J2Os, I think it’s pretty good value for money.

Well what a little gem this turned out to be. Impromptu visit on a Sat tea time and we were warmly greeted . Even though their tables were already reserved they welcomed us . I opted for liver and onions on the special board outside and even though this was a lunch time meal, they told me they would make it for me. Meals arrived , mine was excellent and delicious , such tasty gravy and hubby had Spagetti meatballs which were superb. He is a good cook and makes is own and he said they were just like how he makes them , tasty and well seasoned . Superb meal, excellent service , lovely atmosphere great price ,meal with Drinks came to £ 30. If you are in Dawlish , a must to visit . No wonder the tables were reserved!

The decor and cleanliness of the place was good. There was an offer on for steak the night we went in so we ordered two steaks both medium to well done. Mine tatsed great and was cooked to how I like it. However, my partners steak was very red throughout. Had I been served with her steak then I would have had to return it as undercooked. While the staff were pleasant I did not sense much atmosphere in the establishment. The desert menu was not that extensive but what was available certainly tasted nice. Considering the steaks were on offer I did find the place quite expensive and the portions smaller compared with establishments in my home area.

10 of us gathered for a catch up and lunch. Had a young toddler with us, she was made very welcome and her food adapted for her. Everyone enjoyed lunch. We didn't bother about pudding as we headed for the beach and an ice cream. Will be returning its so nice.

After a long day whilst on holiday, we found this restaurant online. 3 adults and a child had lovely food... starters, mains were all presented well and tasted yummy! The service was very good! The sweet cabinet was a winner for us all too. Thank you!

Good experience, good service but knowledge about the need for gluten free food was non-existent. A real shame because we can't use them.

Three of us went for an evening meal here on a Saturday in June. We loved the atmosphere and ambience, and the young lady on duty (Jess) was coping with the entire place on her own admirably. It was her birthday too! She gave us clear warning of the time the food would take to come so we were well informed, and when it did arrive it was very tasty and enjoyable, although my one complaint was that the burger I had was not home-made and was a bit gristly. My two companions had faultless meals so I must have been unlucky.

Waitresses are really lovely, friendly, welcoming and helpful. Nothing is too much trouble. Coffee is great - and the cakes. We always have a great meal there whether it is the cooked, specials or just a sandwich or the naughty but nice,

This is my 3rd visit to Reflections. As on the previous visits both the service and the food were extremely good. Nice atmosphere, clean loos, friendly staff.

We visit this cafe on a monthly basis with our daughter who has autism. The staff go out of their way to be accommodating to her needs which we really appreciate. In addition the food is simple but well cooked. The cream tea is very good as are the panini.

The owner & the Staff are very friendly & professional. The food is always excellent & the atmosphere is good. It's not cramped. I recommend Reflections. Their steak pie is absolutely delicious.

As before, the friendly staff welcomed us promptly, made sure my (disabled) sister was comfortable and served us a good meal. It was a truly foul day, but they made the sun shine inside.

Reflections is a friendly cafe during the day offering drinks, sandwiches, cakes nad meals etc. On a friday and saturday night it becomes a restaurant offering superbly cooked food by very friendly staff. Thoroughly recommended.

My partner and I often have lunch here and are never disappointed. There is a good choice of food: my partner chose Liver and Bacon today and said "it was as good as his mother used to make". I had a light breakfast which was perfectly cooked and presented. The restaurant is always clean and tidy and the staff friendly. A lot of the locals meet and eat here too - always a good sign. There are theme nights I.e. Greek. Good clean toilets too.

Two of us had lunch here today, we had noted the good reviews on Trip Advisor and thought we would check it out.

We needed to book somewere for 8 people at rather short notice very recently on Saturday night.We used trip advisor as we were only visiting the area and were very plesed with the choice. Great atmosphere,Great service and great food priced well for a Bistro as you would expect delivered and presented in style. Would chose here again when in the area we hope.

My parents own a seasonal caravan in dawlish and one of their many stops is reflections for their usual two pots of tea and a lemonade.

Me and friend came here after doing a 18 mile walk and wasn’t disappointed. I had the seafood tagliatelle which was with Scallops and Prawns in a creamy garlic sauce. The portion was just right.

Visited Reflections after stopping at a couple of other pubs/restaurants and being underwhelmed by their menus. Saw Reflections by chance and managed to park. Looks like its a busy street - narrow too.

In light of all the reviews on Trip Advisor we should have been on to a winner here. Sadly both my wife and I were disappointed with our meals.
