We had a lovely lunch in this retro style restaurant. The lunch menu is incredibly good value including a starter, a main and a glass of house wine for less than £15. I had a baked egg with spinach and seabass with potatoes and veg. The service was friendly and quick. Definitely recommend the week day lunch!

If you want tapas in a relaxed atmosphere then this place is ok but it is a bit average. The menu looks better on paper than it tastes. Some of the dishes would benefit from adding something - salt, pepper, chilli, paprika, garlic - all things I’d associate with Spanish tapas but that were a bit lacking. We had the pardon peppers (good), chorizo in cider (tasty), patatas in blue cheese (probably our favourite dish of the night), meatballs (very bland tomato sauce, odd inclusion of peas), squid (well cooked but bland, would have been great with some chilli oil and garlic), prawns (garlic not infused, bland) and tortilla (was bland, like a homemade omelette with no seasoning). Apart from the food service was friendly and efficient. The staff were keen to go home early though I think. Starting packing up at 9.30pm on a Friday night whilst customers were still eating, which is a bit of an atmosphere killer.

I want to warn everyone about the manager of this establishment, Jenny, due to an extremely unpleasant experience. I recently underwent cancer treatment, which has left me with a stoma and bladder function issues. After our meal, I went to use the disabled toilet, inserting my disability key into the door, when I was suddenly pulled back. The manager, Jenny, physically stopped me, looked me up and down, and demanded, “What’s wrong with you then?” I explained my condition, but she responded dismissively, saying that “anyone can buy those keys off Amazon,” in an aggressive and rude manner. I was visibly upset, yet she showed no empathy or care. As a 29-year-old woman who wears a wig, I may not “look” disabled, but this is exactly why no one should judge a book by its cover. Following this incident, we emailed the business, and they assured us that staff would undergo disability awareness training. They also offered me a £100 voucher, which I accepted—despite never wanting to encounter this woman again. However, weeks have passed, and they are now ignoring my emails. Given their lack of response, I felt it necessary to share this experience. If you have a disability, I strongly advise avoiding this place.

Dropped two stars because, staff ask whether you are drinking in or takeaway. Me being honest, I said drinking in and pay for the privilege, but there were a lot of people who clearly paid for a takeaway drink (who have takeaway cups) which is cheaper and sit in to have it. The staff should enforce this, or don't charge different prices to drink in and takeaway!! And FAR too many dogs inside !!

I popped into Eats 101 for a breakfast and enjoyed it very much. The husband and wife team were very friendly and helpful. This is not a "fancy" establishment but do not let the décor put you off.

Quite probably the worst curry I’ve ever had. We called in to order a takeaway which confused them and they didn’t apply the collection discount ! When we got the curry home it was almost cold despite actually having literally just collected it from the restaurant ourselves having waited for it to be cooked.. I had a Jafrezi which was just a greasy brown mush with tough chicken. My partner had a biryani which was completely tasteless. Cold rice - congealed greasy and tough chicken. Avoid ! If I could give zero rating I would.

Really nicely blended food and great flavours. Railway Lamb was gorgeous and had a bit of a kick and the street food options all delicious. Will order again soon!

Great whisky tasting evening at the Leafy Elephant. Ollie was a brilliant and very knowledgeable host. The nest is a very unique and chilled area to retreat and enjoy the excellent choice of whisky and rum. Can't wait to come back.

We arrived at 6:55, were spoken to by 7:05 and told that the people at our table were paying the bill - they left at 7:15, and we were seated at 7:18 We were served quickly and the drinks came really quickly - though my brother who just wanted water had to wait ten minutes for a glass to drink it from! The starters came by 7:50 and the first two mains came whilst we were still finishing our starters so we were impressed - until the rest of the mains still hadn't arrived ten minutes later. We asked the waitress who said she'd check, five minutes passed and we asked the waitress again and she came back with the receipt to check what we'd received - evidently to tell the kitchen to cook the 6 mains that we hadn't received! The two people who got their food were finished eating before ours arrived (pictured). I was quite surprised that we were still expected to pay full price after having to wait 20 minutes for the rest of our food, and our main waiter didn't seem to know it had happened. It was packed and incredibly loud. Delivery drivers were waiting 10+ minutes and giving up and walking off. I understand it was Saturday evening but if you can't handle being full, maybe don't have as many tables. I don't understand having to wait when we had booked, either make bookings longer so people are actually finished in time for the next booking, or put signs on the table to tell people that it's booked and they need to be gone by a certain time.
