Great food, on par with the Royal Hotel, Ventnor but very slow service. Sat down at 1pm. Starter arrived at 1.30, main arrived at 2pm.

We came to visit the isle of white over the bank holiday week as the weather was so lovely and searched the cafes we wanted to visit prior to our trip. Lilly’s did not disappoint on the cake front!! They had a good variety even on a super busy day and they were delicious. The wait time was a little while but due to the amount of customers they had we didn’t mind and took our takeaway to have by the seafront (cake with a view) great customer service throughout and nice music.

What an amazing place to get to see where Mermaid Gin is actually distilled! As regulars to the IOW and the pub, in it's previous form being where my husband (as a child) stopped at for lunch after the ferry and en route to their campsite... It already held memories. So we popped in on our way home to pick up a bottle of gin... It was early so we were the only ones there. Immediately, we were greeted by a charming man who directed us to the shop and up popped Ebony from behind the counter. Full of smiles and simply a joy to talk to... So lovely! Came for a bottle of gin and ended up buying rum, salt vodka, a sea towel, bar slade, tote bag and a bar runner! Didn't get the chance to eat but the stunning interior and menu made me feel sad that we had a ferry to catch... Plus, we could have chatted with Ebony for ages given the chance! The bottles are now in, what used to be my utility but has somehow become, Gary's bar! Will definitely return to see Ebony and enjoy the sofa's, cushions and food! Thank you xx

I always look forward to visiting The Old Fort. But, and there is a but , if while enjoying your lunch your require a piece of bread you will be asked to queue at the bar and pay £3.50 for it. This is not good, customers do not like that sort of grasping attitude. European restaurants always give water and bread.

We had been looking to visit here for about 3 weeks prior to our trip to IOW this week. It looked so lovely down by the beach and largely had good reviews. We went for breakfast today, not many people as it was early. Didn’t feel very welcomed from the off. Then breakfast arrived. Very very undercooked eggs, to the point where the white part of the egg had made the toast soggy. It wasn’t edible without making you have an upset stomach. I wasn’t rude just took it back and said these eggs are to under cooked for me, no eye contact from the old man behind the counter, no oh sorry about that or let me sort this for you! Nothing just silence acted as though - I was mud on he’s shoe!! Utterly disgusting behaviour, from who I assumes was the manager/owner, as he was a lot older than the younger boys that were there. Never, have I been treated that way before. He never said a word. It was completely unnecessary, I wasn’t rude to him. I couldn’t have eaten the eggs, they were snotty and not what should be served. Really ruined our day. It had such potential, it’s lovely inside the coffee was good. The view is incredible, but the staff let it down. I really felt there was no need for he’s treatment at all. I wasn’t being out of line not to eat raw eggs!!!! I’ve noticed there’s another review on here about uncooked food. I think they may need to retrain their cook. Shame…..

Stopped for a quick sandwich and coffee, smallest sandwich I I’ve had in a long while, served on thin sliced bread. Cost for 2 sandwiches and 2 coffees was £24.20, extortionate in my opinion

From the outset the bar staff were friendly and helpful and could not be faulted the food was exquisite and the portion sizes were just right , the value for money was spot on. The ambiance with the view over the Solent as the sun went down was captivating Thank you Seaview Hotel for a memorable evening

Breakfast baps are lovely. Good price and quality Some staff aren't very helpful though? Let the cafe down but the baps are worth it!

worst customer experience ever ...made to feel unwelcome as soon as we walked in it was 8pm (they were open untill eleven)the place was all but empty apart from 1 table and four staff at the end of the bar we were asked by one staff member if we were wanting to eat...we had planned to have a couple of drinks and to make a gift purchase ...but i thinking they only wanted to serve us if we ordered food said sure we might have something ...only then to be told by 2nd staff member they are not taking any more food orders and then by a third staff member that we could go and try somewhere else and suggested somewhere !! I decided to make my intention very clear ie to buy a gift set and have a drink or two ( ie spend £££) and the a fourth member of staff then served me the drinks and sold me the gift set we left within twenty mins and do not intend to ever return, could not recommend to anyone

Expensive takeaway of average quality. Food & Hygiene Rating 2!! Only saw this when I went to collect the food, if I knew that I would have avoided. Avoid the onion bhaji it was like eating fried hay. The chicken chat puri was a tika version with a very sad looking and unappetising salad. The best dish was the Lamb jalfresi which tasted very nice. The Nans were of a good size and cooked well. Having lived in India and Nepal I’m used to making my own curries, but I was tired and thought I’d treat myself. Prices were steep for an Indian takeaway compared to London but I thought judging by the area of Seaview the food quality would also reflect the prices, not so. Glad that I didn’t eat inside, there is no atmosphere at all whatsoever and no one in sight, very strange.
