WOW, what can i say.....Always a great experience...meals are superb...home made steak pie is a must. Staff always a smile and willing to help. A+++Definitely returning. As stated, returned, and no surprise, ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC.

Dined here with 2 friends last night. Never been before but will definitely return. The food was delicious and good portions. The ambience was good and customer service excellent. Afghan chicken was amazing. Sweet but spicy. Can’t fault it and would highly recommend.

Brilliant food, would definitely recommend

Always had a good meal from Heath Street (5 rating) but last week it was not up to its usual standards. There were a lot of black potatoes but as they give a generous portion there were still enough. The batter was not as well cooked as usual, a little soggy and pasty inside. The peas were really dry. Only today when walking up from the village did I notice that it has changed its name, no longer Heath Street Fish and Chips. Never used any other chippy as never needed to. We will give it one more go and if it is still not up to its previous standard we will maybe need to try some of the alternative suppliers in future.

We travel from St helens once a month to treat ourselves food always great would always recommend

Hotel was as expected for premier inn. Excellent. But the pub next door where meals are served needs alot of improvement. Waited an age for someone to serve us for breakfast and also the evening meal. In fact service was unacceptable even for drinks..the pub was cold we had to eat wearing our coats, staff said heating was off...would stay again but not sure we'd have meals again.

Got 2 x pudding chips n gravy cost 10.40 n my other halfs first words were , "are they kids meals theyre a bit scraupy" not the usual standard to be fair. Shame really as they are usually spot on

Agree with the other reviews about the smell and the poor quality of the beer, just wish I’d read them first. Normally an independent pub is better than a chain but this one would have soon had new management if it was part of a chain. Doesn’t serve food which is just as well because I doubt it would get a hygiene certificate. As for the smell, not sure if it’s the toilets or general damp but it probably says why it was so quiet. Takes a hardened drinker to be happy in here.
