Best chippy around friendly staff, fair prices and don’t forget the curry sauce because that is just delicious!! 🤤

The pudding chips & peas were good value. However, the other sides were very powdery and the Donner meat was very poor value & we will not order this again

The fish from here is the best around, always so fresh and flaky. We order at least once a month but today forgot to order the curry sauce. Not a problem Golborne Fry noticed before we did and included a free pot with our order. Top service!

Tastiest Haddock and chips ever from a chippy. Sausage was bang on too, as was mushy peas and spicy curry sauce!

They even added some free complimentary food which was amazing

Just stopped in for the first time and all I can say is I will definitely be going back. Spoke to the man in there ( im sorry i didnt catch his name) who I assume is the owner and what a nice person. He struck up conversation about my day and just was really welcoming. After I placed my order he gave me a free fishcake to try and wow. It was so nice!! My order was cooked fresh and came in good time. I got my food home after a short drive and it was piping hot. I had fish and chips, my daughter had sausage and chips. All cooked amazingly and really tasted fresh... can't recommend this chippy enough!!!!

Food was cold asked for well done meat it was hardly cooked and chips were still hard we have ordered twice a week from here and always been good but tonight was just horrible

2nd time ordering. Both times, Came earlier and food was fresh and piping hot. Highly recommended

Had fish and chips tonight, hot and tasty, ordered by phone ready within minutes, fish was delicious and the chips were plentiful and fresh, best chippy for miles and by miles! Lovely friendly staff too!

I’m losing the will to live with chips shops in and around Goldborne, they haven’t got a clue, I’m sick to back teeth of being over charged, receiving slow service, and served with poor manners. I’m starting to think customer service ignorance is Wigan thing!?! The shop was absolutely freezing inside , parking was a nightmare and prices extortionate, the food was bang average. Never again. I’ve ran businesses and granted it is very hard, but getting the basics right is a must especially with food, no excuses.

Food is absolutely brilliant although I have to say have ordered serval times in the last few weeks and was disappointed that the kebabs were so small not the usual portions ???

Really nice chippy as usual but after going for along time may have to find somewhere else. stopped doing large chips for some reason and now have two order 2 portions which costs alot and end up throwing a large amount away. such a shame

Just been to pick up our order, cost over 25 pounds for absolutely rank food. Donner kebab awful donner meat was as thick as steak, my wife had a halloumi gyros looked like a baby had thrown up on her plate. Will never return and not recommend.

Best chippy I have ever been to. The owner is super friendly will have your talking that long you don't realise your food is ready. Always eager to offer advice on food and pies. The food is lightly battered so is crispy and not too greasy like heavy batter. Good choice with the pies. My new go to chippy not sure the chippies near my home are going to be able to compete with this one

It's hard to come by a decent chippy these days. I ordered a battered sausage and chips with the Irish curry sauce and it was the best I've had in a long time. I will definitely be ordering from here again!

Arrived cold and not that tast, would not return.

Had this 4 times now and it’s been consistently good every time. Chips cooked perfectly, cod cooked perfectly, barm soft and buttered. Delivery either on time or early.

We have been here the last 3 times as we live locally and I have to say, we will not be going back!! Awful staff, so rude and abrupt and have got all 3 orders wrong!! Every single time we have got home we are missing food, when we go back to get the rest of the order, the staff don’t even apologise. The portions are small and always seem soggy. The gravy is also like water which was the deal breaker for me!! Avoid!!!

Absolutely lovely - the fish was good quality, and the batter fresh and light. I've tried so many places around here with stale and thick batter, and fish that's obviously not cod. Chips were nice, gravy was great. Will definitely try again.

Hot cooked to perfection. The fish was very nice with a perfect amount of batter, chips were delicious and peas were very tasty for chippy peas... I like that there's an option for separate salt and vinegar too. Delivery was fast. Would highly recommend!

Ordered one large chips and one reg chips came in a box and defo wasn't one of each size put together. Large cod very greesy and chewy. Sausages peas and gravy were great.
