Queen Anne in Wigan

We’d gone in after craving one of their all day breakfasts only to find it was no longer on the menu but THEY MADE THEM FOR US ANYWAY! Great food and brilliant customer service!

Service was amazing, the waitress did amazing serving such a busy restaurant area by herself, extremely polite and helpful and couldn’t have done enough for us. Only thing I’d say about the food is to state how well done you want your steak as ours came rare, but the food was spot on. Prices are fair as the food is fresh and really nice and there’s something for all budgets

Tasty, wholesome meals, Typsy Lamb a favourite and the Sunday dinners are great value with option of upto 3 courses, which are a cracking deal. Eat in the general pub area or book in advance in the restaurant. But lovely food and fantastic varied menu x

Nice, varied menu. Good value. Staff come straight to your table to take a drinks order and then you can order food at bar. Only need to pay when you leave, which makes a nice change. Can’t fault the food and portion sizes.

I had a Queen Anne Special hot sandwich. Loved it. The chips were hot and crisp on the outside, yum! (it's not that hard to do fresh hot chips but so many fail)

Intimate pub with a traditional feel. Good service, good food, we always enjoy the Queen Anne. Took 2 people with us who lived in Warrington all their lives who were amazed they had never been there before. They gave it high praise.

Our go to place for a decent meal, consistently good, great menu choices, meals are always freshly cooked and hot, 4 of us had different meals and all were excellent, at a reasonable price,great staff, can highly recommend the Queen Anne for quality and service.

Food and service underwhelming and disappointing unfortunately. We arrived 10 mins after it opened, had to wait over half an hour for 2 simple meals. Other tables got their food before us having arrived later than us. The food was mediocre at best, and we certainly didn't get service with a smile!

took almost 1 hour to bring out food forgot second drinks had to ask again wasn't busy so bo excuse on not bringing drinks. offered desert menu then asked if we could go eat desert in the bar as next guest's had arrived which was beyond belief they even knew one of the guest's could hardly walk . tipsy lamb was just gravy no lamb to be seen. roast dinner was OK

We were referred through a friend so we came on the off chance without booking. Glad we did. … the service was excellent the food was also excellent good value for money. We will definitely be back again thank you to all the staff they were all very efficient.

Had a really lovely lunch. The staff were so friendly and attentive. Awful party took over the room we were sitting in but the manageress asked if we would like to move and helped us to another table in a different room away from the ignorant group who were so rude to the lovely serving staff - one young girl asked the man who appeared to be in charge if he'd like any sauces etc and she got an abrupt "No". The staff were remarkably patient considering this party of about 20 hadn't booked and were very demanding and bad mannered. All credit to the pub for handling it so well.

Service was ok, food was ok. Only real issue for me was we all ordered drinks and for some bizarre reason my orange juice came in a small glass and was only half full. No explanation, did they run out of juice??

Pre booked a table for 8 for Sunday roast, 3 courses £19.95 all home cooked and everyone left with full bellies and happy, will be visiting again soon

Queen Anne was ok.......the menu was quite limited and pricey for what you got. I had the steak and kidney pie which was nice but not really worth the £14 it cost. Service was quite slow too. My family were the only ones in at the time and even though the starters came out quickly, we were waiting about 40 minutes for our mains afterwards. Also my meal came out 5 minutes later than the rest of my family, which really annoyed me. Overall it wasn't bad. Staff are nice and the pub has that old country pub atmosphere. If you're going to eat here I'd recommend going before 6 so you can take advantage of the early bird special, as it saves you about £4-5 on a lot of menu options.

I would try the steak pie next time. The fish and chips wasnt what i thought

We've started coming here on a regular basis. The food is always great ( clean plates never lie), staff are friendly, helpful and efficient. The atmosphere is relaxed. I especially like the specials board, changes on a regular basis and always tempting.

This was our first visit to Golborne in many many years, the visit was for a funeral wake. The food provided was very good indeed, lovely and tasty. Excellent service and very friendly people. I would without doubt recommend this pub.

Fairly standard pub menu. Famous for its steak pie,which is always good. Their burger is good value, I always double up and always fills me up, which takes some doing. Fish and chips looked good last time we went as did the gammon. The specials are always interesting and worth having. They have a good selection of beer. Over the last 20 years I've found it to be reasonably consistent in quality, which is why we always go back.

Food was delicious, but even better was the pint of Guinness!

Went here for a family meal. Was bloody brilliant. I would recommend this place to anyone who likes good food.

Did not go in the pub. Was there to take part in a march in memory of the miners that were killed in an explosion at Golborne Colliery. It happened at about 11 15am on the 18/3/79. 19 miners lost there lives and one was seriously injured. My thoughts and prayers are with them.

This was our first time at the Queen Anne. We were pleasantly surprised. The food was excellent with plenty of choice. Even my mum who is 87 and can’t cope with change was very impressed with everything.

The first time everything was fantastic food owner it was that good we went again. We are a group that’s set up I’m checking out pubs that will be good for our meetings I used to be a secret dinner. So I still use the same speel to see how they react. If you click on lowest score reviews you can see my points have been raised with other people.Especially with ethnic minorities. He targeted a lady in our group that was Indonesian. He was rude and whispered things under his breath. I can lip read!! My meal was taken away when I went to the toilet he offered to give me another portion of veg. I don’t want veg on its own I had a few chips left my sauce and all my veg. I said I’ll take a pudding home with me can I have it a £1 cheaper has a good will gesture. He went on about me taking food out of his child’s mouth. WHAT. I had my meal taken away that’s always the best bit. always look at all the reviews. Especially single out the bad ones if a lot are saying the same thing there probably true.

Last minute decision to have lunch at this pub, which turned out to be a good one. Service and attention very good. Atmosphere relaxing Menu brilliant so many choices, including choices for people that are vegetarian or gluten free. I ate the Tipsy Lamb so delicious, good portions. Good parking space, no EV availability. Disability access Good location en- route A580 Liverpool to Manchester at Golborne. Didn't use the toilet.

It's good it's busy but all the best tables were taken found it expensive on a Saturday evening not a good idea having people sitting at the bar that was drinking pubs but I know those people will with out dought go elsewhere if you take their stools away just can't get to all the bar area meals aren't bad we will call again 😉 😀 😊

A nice pub for our friend's local. A nice warm feeling when you enter. A good choice of drinks, if that's all you want. Some staple 'pub meals' to keep you filled. Staff are welcoming and friendly. Will definitely visit again when visiting our friends.

The pub speaks for itself. It's very homely has a good crowd of regulars. I find the food good. The waiting staff are very attentive to your needs. As are the bar staff

Very friendly staff, it was quiet when me and my dad went (we came around 17:30pm) food came quickly. Both ordered the Steak Pie as a recommendation to us and didn’t disappoint. Option with veg or mushy peas. My dad had veg, I had mushy peas both was excellent. The Pub has an early bird menu I think before 7pm which the initials E.B next to some menu items brings the price down (Steak Pie at £7.95) and makes the meal more affordable, better value and filling than an average Burger King meal. With room just for dessert my dad went for the apple pie and custard, while I went for the Hot fudge cake. Both amazing coming in at £5.95 for each dessert For 2 outstanding pub meals, 2 desserts, a large Pepsi and a larger shandy the bill came to £35.05

1st time weve try'd and were very impressed. We had the sunday roast and was delish. Reasonably priced to and staff were lovely. Will definately go again.

First time I've dined at The Queen Anne. Staff welcoming and friendly. Pub side was busy which was nice too see. Dining Room very clean, tidy but quite dark. Dark wood furniture and curtains. Dont let this 'Oldie Worldly ' dining area put you off. The food was amazing, large portions,well cooked and hot. The young waitress had only been employed at The Queen Anne a few weeks very attentive, clearly wanted to please. With regards to atmosphere, sadly the restaurant was not full. It was a weekday and cost of living etc. The food is reasonably affordable. I will go back. Please try it for yourself.

Spent evening in the concert room at a New Garret theatre musical presentation. Fabulous group of singers belting out a range of musical songs. The Freddy Mercury song was a highlight. Look out for them.

My first visit with friends for a 70th birthday meal, food was lovely will definitely be visiting again 😊

Nice place to eat. Been here a few times over the past 12 months. Good atmosphere but not too busy. Staff are attentive and friendly. Food delivered in good time. Only downside I found was the excess of cheese applied to my tuna melt sandwich. It was good but I had to remove a thick layer of melted cheese. Well, at least I know for next time. :-)
