We went for a meal Sunday afternoon the meal was perfect and the staff were very nice as always

Been a few times and can honestly say each time the food has been brilliant cant not fault the service either polite and helpful definitely recommend a visit the ploughman's lunch and the peppercorn chicken are our favourites

Had the Sunday dinner. Toasties were clearly cooked from frozen. Hard in places. Cabbage was uncooked unflavoured. No stuffing no mashed potato. Total disappointment. My partner said his scampi was undercooked. My son got two kids meals because one isn't enough but at 6.95 each not cheap. Think the prices of the meals are well over the top for what you get.

The Harrow Inn was recommended to us by my partners friends. We visited on a Thursday at about 5pm. There were two other couples in the restaurant area and a few people at the bar. One of the staff approached us at our table and asked if we would like a drink. When she returned with my red wine (very nice) and an Appletizer, we were ready to order: Steak & Ale Pie (£15.95) and the special of the day (well it wasn't on the menu) the Chicken, Bacon & Leek Pie (£15.95). Both pies came in dishes with puffy pastry on top with chunky chips and peas on the same plate. The gravey came in a gravey boat. Both meals were delicious with plenty of filling. We enjoyed our meals that much we decided to share a dessert. We opted for the apple & biscoti crumble with custard in a gravey boat (£6 95). This was my partner's choice as she can't eat chocolate. The portion size was very disappointing for £6.95. I found it very tasty. However, my partner wasn't impressed as she couldn't really taste the apple or biscoti. I did mention our disappointment with the dessert when I paid the bill (£44.70). The lady who took the payment looked surprised and said she would pass on our comment to the kitchen. The staff were very friendly with 80s music in the background.

A quaint little pub just on the edge in between Ashton and Golborne, it is a hidden gem in the local area. I have visited twice and neither time has disappointed. The first time I had the sunday dinner (priced at around £11) and had the American dream the second time (priced at £18) It might not be as cheap as some local pubs but you are paying for individualised meals, lovely staff, and a calm atmosphere all round.

Lovely place special to me and my hubby went on our first date there 23 yr ago Don't go as often as I'd like, always welcoming staff are lovely, cosy in winter with log fire, lovely in summer with vast beer garden. Mother in law had gammon and chips with egg just over a tenner for plate full. I had chilli with rice was expensive that I thought for the size of the portion just over 15 pound normally I don't grumble about prices but was a bit steep for size of portion Deserts lovely I had waffles and mum in law had bakewell both delicious Nice place it's you old world pub and it's nice to see , mother in law give me a funny look when she walked in but then as we leaving she said the place was lovely, I said yes because it's got character and its relaxing environment . I came in for a funeral on Friday what a fantastic place great service and the buffet was amazing we had a private room lovely and clean could smell the food that was being cooked and it smelt delicious can't wait to go back to try there food

Came across the Harrow Inn unsuspectingly on our walk. Popped in for a beer and to get out of the rain. The place was busy and had a buzz. Will have to return to taste the food. The menu looks good.

A very relaxing environment in a old fashion traditional pub. The staff are all welcoming and great service, had numerous meals at lunch time and dinner and the meals are always ten out of ten . The chuncky chips are amazing Overall highly recommended.

My husband and I have eaten at the Harrow on numerous occasions and thoroughly enjoyed it. So much so, that we recommended it to some friends of ours. We were not disappointed. The food was excellent, the staff were very polite and attentive and the atmosphere was great. Our friends loved it and are asking “when are we going back” Don’t change anything at the Harrow as we will be back very soon.

The first time in a long time myself and family have been going, took 35 mins to take order, when food came the soup had a skin on top of it which tells u it's been microwaved, when my son put his spoon in the soup which was chicken and sweet corn, was like gulp, I could of hung my wallpaper up with it, then my Daughter's chicken korma the popadom wasn't cooked. When I got to my pate the bread was only toasted on one side. Over the last 12 months we have recommended lots of people because the food and service is that good. When I told the staff I wasn't paying for food, I had no apology which I find disgusting. This will not stop me from going here but I will not go on a Tuesday night.

We go here every week with my mum. It’s a very friendly place and food is excellent. Highly recommend.

To the manager, I would like to make you aware of my disappointment following our visit to the pub today (Sunday 2nd July). I was part of a large party (14 people) attending for 2 birthdays. Our previous visits have been excellent (both food and service) however todays food was atrocious. Everything was pre cooked, the veg was over cooked (spouts rock hard) and the so called “signature gravy” was very clearly made from gravy granules (I expect due to not having any meat juices as the meat had been pre cooked and sliced). The food quality was so poor and reminiscent of something you’d get in hospital. A Sunday dinner with no roast potatoes is not a Sunday dinner - I understand there was an issue with the potato machine but this should have been reflected in the price or the kitchen closed. I believe the chef has resigned recently which will no doubt affect the running of the kitchen but it would have been better to close the kitchen rather than serve sub standard food. I was embarrassed to have recommended The Harrow to my friends who came with us for their daughters 18th birthday lunch. I would have raised a complaint at the time but due to being in such a large party with kids and some customers being stood at the bar I didn’t feel it was appropriate nor wanted to make a scene. I would add that when your staff came to our table to ask if everything was ok with the food, no one came to my end which would have been the time to raise this. The amount of food left on plates speaks volumes and I’m sure your staff would have noticed albeit probably don’t care. The total cost was over £150 (excluding drinks) and wasn’t worth even half of that. I’d appreciate your comments Regards Alex

Absolutely wonderful and amazing..Menu is perfect and not over done...wide range of options from steak, pie, burgers and hone cooked meals like shepherds pie and brasing steak...lovely place...great food very clean...enjoyable atmosphere...no loud music or people

Called in the orher day as part of our walk. It was an oasis in the hot weather.

Unfortunately our meals were not very good on this occasion. The soup was excellent but mains very disappointing. The chips were so dry and the gammon like cardboard.

I'm a support worker for people with learning difficulties, 5 of us went to a racing car day in Wigan and felt hungry afterwards, I put my satnav on for a food pub and the name harrow inn sounded really good !! We had great service by the staff, , food was lovely and it was a nice atmosphere , we are going back to the race track in September so see you again there Harrow Inn !!

Table of four. Three meals was edible but mine was sadly lacking. Supposed to be chicken, chorizo, pasta in a tomato sauce. Suspect tomato sauce had been frozen because it was very watery. Chicken was stringy and the chorizo was diced so small that it was hard to find. I left the majority of it because it was terrible. Commented to the waitess who said she would tell the chef. The chef never came out to see what the problem was so it seems he wasn't bothered. Will not be returning

Had a Sunday lunch for the first time. It was very dried up, only one type of potato. Disappointed. The regular menu is excellent, will stick to that in future

Traditional pub the staff are very friendly. The food is excellent. Never had a bad meal there. Well worth the money and a visit. You will want to go back again.

Having previously been for a sunday meal we went back in readiness to have a quality family meal. I requested the ploughmans salad. What arrived was an utter disappointment. Ham was full of gristle, Apple core still left on, Cheese was all dried out and crusty at the edge and salad leaves brown & wilted. Had no call back from waitress. So had to wait until the bill arrived to advise of my displeasure. Overall very disappointed with the whole experience. Unless the standard improves greatly we will not be going back.

Found this following a Google search. Excellent quality food. Proper home cooking, none of that mass produced pinger stuff. Decent sized portions. Yes it’s not your pub chain prices but given the quality and care it’s worth the extra. Now we’ve found it we’ll be back.

Second time I’ve come into arrow in and been disappointed in the service after visiting the arrow Inn for nearly 3 years now inn and off . The food is still up to the mark . I came in and wanted to seat in a reservation table that was going to be used enough time for me an my son to eat and pay and leave came in at 5:10 and table wasn’t going to be used till 5:45 since the manager I remember being around on the floor the last two visits I don’t feel comfortable so this will be my last visit to the arrow Inn even though I like the surroundings and the food because for me it’s all about the service as well as the food . In hospitality which I use’t to work in you have to give good service and make the customers visits welcoming and I don’t feel this experience of recent has given me that experience from certain staff at the arrow Inn . I’m about to go and pay now and still no show on that table

23rd December, rang and booked a table for lunchtime. Fairly busy, food was very good and also a generous serving. Not the cheapest but you get what you pay for and personally I thought great quality. Staff pleasant and helpful. Definately a place to go again.

Best 12oz steak I've had in a long time. My misses has the homemade stake n ale pie. All enjoyed including afters. Very reasonably priced. Would highly recommend. We will go back.

Excellent customer service with smiling faces. The Sunday Roast needed to be cooked more regards the sprouts the roast potatoes and Yorkshire pudding were like rubber. Probably need more quafied staff in the kitchen.

Nice quiet friendly place. Doesn't get really busy during the day but I've seen it 75% full at night with diners. It's clean and the staff are friendly. The food is standard pub grub so nothing spectacular as far as choice but I've never had a bad meal or bad experience there. It's located on a mega quiet road so no road noise. Go there for a chilled lunch time meal in nice sunny weather and it's especially good

First time in a few years went for a Sunday Roast. The girls were very polite and professional who were waiting on the tables. But very disappointed with the dinner. The veg cold and under cooked the beef was very tough. The potatoes were bruised and not roasted very well. Will not be visiting again. .
