Heath St. Fish & Chips in Wigan

Always had a good meal from Heath Street (5 rating) but last week it was not up to its usual standards. There were a lot of black potatoes but as they give a generous portion there were still enough. The batter was not as well cooked as usual, a little soggy and pasty inside. The peas were really dry. Only today when walking up from the village did I notice that it has changed its name, no longer Heath Street Fish and Chips. Never used any other chippy as never needed to. We will give it one more go and if it is still not up to its previous standard we will maybe need to try some of the alternative suppliers in future.

I am very disappointed with my first time at this chippy we ordered curry and rice there was not a enough to feed my 12month old nephew cost £8 for three curry rice that's what we got

After trying several chip shops around Golborne, Heath Street chippy is by far the most consistent and best. The cod is without doubt the best in the area.

Been coming to this chippy for a while now and food is amazing staff very friendly prices good can't see me going anywhere else

I love this chippy, the fish is always beautiful and they seem to add to their menu all the time with new things to try. I actually moved out of the area a few months ago but I still drive there every Friday for our regular meal and service with a smile.

Was passing this hidden gem and am i glad i did. They do a family meal deal in a pizza box, 2 fish,2 sausage, onion rings, extra large chips, peas,gravy and curry. All for £10 the staff couldnt do enough for us. We was eating in the car and they threw in trays and cutlery for us. Really friendly bunch. Weve drove back a couple of times since. The food is 5* unlike the chinese chippy up the road from it.

Been coming here just over a year and every time the food is bang on. The family meal deal is excellent value for money and does feed a family of 4 easily. Friendly staff aswell.
