The best restaurants serving Default food in Ribble Valley North West

We was in Clitheroe early morning & had two hours to pass, We wandered through the town following signs to the market, unfortunately the market wasn't on, however we stumbled across this lovely little place, didn't look much from the exterior but was early & assumed they was setting up, We went in, got a friendly good morning asked if we was ok, sat down looked at the menu, plenty of choices to be had, we both opted for a smaller breakfast (black pudding was awesome) & coffee, we did swap an item out. The breakfast came quite quickly lovely presented & very hot! A slight mistake probably due to me swapping an item, the lady rectified the issue promptly & apologised. We said no harm done & appreciated the fact it was sorted quickly. Toilets was nice & clean, smelt fresh, Water bowl outside for your dog. If we visit Clitheroe again, we will 100% come here again, A lovely proper cafe!

Beautiful place lost in time ! Great little wine shop on site and Fish Pie is a dream , great views of river and nice walk if you can manage after the fish pie

Nice hotel with a garden, a cozy lounge by the fireplace, friendly staff, excellent food, clean, comfortable rooms, beautiful view from the window. A worthy getaway for a short vacation to celebrate our next wedding anniversary.

Just had to try the Lancashire cheese pie after walking the Tolkien trail. Gorgeous

3 Millstones Inn is the best hotel in the area in my opinion. The rooms are very comfortable with fresh modern decor. The food is absolutely incredible! I had their trio of pork dish, and it's one of the best meals I've ever tasted! The staff are very obliging and friendly. Incredible value every time I stay!

Treat night out with friends, thanks to Ben and the guys working as hard as ever throughout the evening. It's worth booking a table for Fridays and Saturdays if you want to take advantage of the great tapas menu, although it is not necessary if just popping in for a drink. Always a great night out.

We love the Buck at paythorne, Excellent meals,good choice of menu,Rachel and Steve and there staff are so friendly and welcoming.Dog friendly, disabled toilets,roaring fire in winter.Friendly atmosphere.

They don't sell food, but do sell a range of good quality ales, beers, spirits etc with a smile in a good atmosphere.

We stayed B&B at Greendale as part of their evening meal package with La Locanda down the road in Gisburn (details on Greendale website). In my head, I'd got the Greendale down as a bit of a means to an end - somewhere to stay that was close to the excellent La Locanda. However, Greendale very quickly became an end. The Greendale gave us a spacious, comfortable, quiet, well-equipped room with a wonderful 180-degree panoramic view across the Ribble Valley. After a good night's sleep, we had a great breakfast of mashed avocado, egg topped with smoked bacon crumb and chives. Excellent range of tea and coffee. We then went for a great 5 mile walk straight out the door and returned to Greendale for a cup of tea and a piece of cake. And what a cake it was. There's some serious cake making going on here with their talented in-house chocolatier leading the charge. As this wasn't enough, the quality of the hospitality was outstanding. Bearing in mind we stayed over on a busy Mother’s Day when the clocks had gone forward (so they'd already lost an hour of prep time), all the staff were welcoming and helpful. Looking back, there was something life affirming about our stay at Greendale. In doesn't pretend to be a part of the crowded (and over-priced) Northern boutique hotel scene. Greendale does what it does on its own terms - outstanding food and hospitality at a very competitive price.

The standards are very high and on many visits very consistent, food cooked very well with a very good level of service ,would always highly recommend to anyone who hasn't popped in for a bite to eat to give it a try

ABSOLUTELY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!! I ordered a takeaway for collection and the order was wrong when I got home, they’d charged an extra full meal instead of a sauce - I phoned as soon as I realised explaining they’d given us and charged for a meal to ask for a refund and was told I’d need to come back with the card and we agreed I would call the next day due to not living in Clitheroe. When I returned for a refund the lady asked me if I had brought the food back with me??? She refused to refund me because I hadn’t brought the food back that I didn’t order - why on earth I would bring back cold food from the night before is beyond me. I’d spent over £40 and some of the food I’d not ordered. Be wary!!! I will not be returning!!!!

I am pleased to say that after such a long wait (due to Covid) indoor eating is now available at this excellent eatery. Food, service and location are all excellent and I could not recommend it highly enough Give it a go, you won’t be disappointed 😀

Came here today with partner and in laws and had a fabulous time. Service was brilliant and the food was absolutely delicious. Every dish we had (9 tapas and 4 desserts) was so tasty and we loved it all. Will 100% be back!!

Great throwback to old cafes. Friendly staff and a well looked after place. Lovely food and coffee done reminds me of what the 70s and 80s was.
