Kong San Cantonese Restaurant & Takeaway in Ribble Valley

Had a lovely Mother’s Day takeaway dinner from this super Cantonese Restaurant, we all shared the 1/2 Aromatic shredded crispy duck with pancakes, then for the starters my wife had the salt and pepper chicken fillets, our son had Aromatic salt and pepper mushrooms and I had the salt and pepper king prawns. For our main meal my wife and I shared the meat curry special with fried rice and our son had the hot and spicy special with salt and pepper chips. We were also given a bag of prawn crackers, all the food was delicious . Enjoy

Found this amazing place during lockdown. The service has always been fantastic. The food is delicious, fresh and would recommend to absolutely anyone. We have tried a reasonable selection of the food between the family and have enjoyed everything.

Ordered for the first time from here tonight. Completely blown away! The hot and sour soup was amazing, and the Char Sui Bao and Har GAO we’re both delicious. I could eat this every day! Fabulous food. Thank you.

Had our first meal from here and due to Covid-19 it was a takeaway. The food was really tasty and in reasonable portions for the price, we both enjoyed our choices. We will eat again here soon either as a takeaway or sit in once it has reopened. As the pandemic is still present Kong San has strict processes in place which appear to be beneficial and effective, orders are placed online and collected at a set time. The staff were pleasant and helpful throughout. Recommended.

Amazing, clean and delicious Cantonese food. Jenny is a phenomenal chef always willing to go above & beyond. The British "classics" are very enjoyable and done with panache, but I urge you to get something off the dim sum and tasters menu as this is closer to the real taste of Cantonese!

One of the best Chinese meals we have had for a long time!We visited Kong San with friends on a Sunday tea time, it is only a small restaurant so probably best to book ahead.We chose the set menu for four of us & every bit was delicious. The service was excellent, attentive & friendly & we cant wait to return!

Recently held a birthday party here for 22 guests and all I can say is what an amazing experience.From the planning, the venue, the meal and the service everything was 5*. We ordered the banquet option and made a few small changes to meet our personal taste. From the moment we arrived the staff were attentive and made sure that everyone's needs were met. To deliver meals to 22 people ensuring the highest quality and more than enough food to satisfy everyone was a significant achievement and exceeded our expectations. The owners approached us at the end to ensure we had enjoyed our night and also to wish me a happy birthday. Not one negative from anyone who attended and certainly lots of comments about wanting to return in the not too distant future. Well done to everyone at the Kong San for making it a celebration to remember.

We were visiting friends for the weekend and as they love this place so much, they wanted to show it off to us. From entering we were made very welcome, staff and owners all made for a great welcoming atmosphere, not just to us, but to every table. Even saw the chef come out and chat with diners. Loved watching the chefs in the open kitchen, it was amazing watching them, we were so impressed with their skills and how they were clearly loving what they were doing. Couldnt believe how they managed the number of meals they did. We had the set meal and every single course was fantastic, they even accommodated my food intolerances. Its was red hot, super tasty and just yummy throughout. Next time we visit our friends we are definitely going back, loved it.

Our first time to Kong San and it won't be the last. Emma and I had a delicious meal served by very attentive and informed staff. The visit to the restaurant was on a busy Saturday night, the atmosphere was welcoming and friendly. Once we arrived we were greeted and offered a drink and the menu. Emma is gluten intolerant so Jennifer went through the menu and explained what was available which was more than is normally offered in a Chinese restaurant. Throughout the meal we were looked after, never needing to wait for attention. The prices are very reasonable for food and drinks with parking outside the door too.

Five of us had a fabulous meal during Chinese New Year. Excellent food, great service and attention to detail made for a highly enjoyable experience. Good value for money too. Highly recommended!

We went for the first time we had a banquet it was delicious and plenty of food ,that much we had to take our main dish home.The restaurant was very busy but the staff and service was above and beyond thank you.Recommend highly we will be returning .

Just had another fantastic takeaway from this lovely restaurant, I rang my order in and within 15 minutes it was ready to pick up. The food is always cooked to perfection and very tasty, the staff are very friendly and polite and always have a nice welcome when you go in, the decor is lovely and colourful. The four of us had the Chicken & Mixed Vegetable Spring Rolls x 2, the Vegetable Spring Rolls x 2, Special in Garlic Sauce- Chicken, Beef, & King Prawns, ( Delicious ), Sliced Beef in Blackbean Sauce, ( Also Delicious ). Fried rice, Boiled rice and Chips, a feast fit for a King. Enjoy

We came for a birthday celebration. The food was extremely tasty and staff very friendly and attentive without being too fussy. The garlic prawns were delicious and the chef was able to adapt one meal to customer preference.

My husband and I were not intending to go to a Chinese restaurant but failed to book a restaurant in the village where we were staying and ended up looking for a meal in Clitheroe. We arrived hungry and thirsty and both were quickly assuaged. It is a family run restaurant who take a lot of care to ensure that you are happy . All the staff without exception are lovely but we were especially enchanted and touched by the lady owner (sorry I don't know your name) who spent time chatting to us despite the fact that we were just passing through. By the way the food was delicious and just hit the spot!

This is our second time here and it was great once again the staff are very friendly and the food is fantastic we had a buffet for two. We will return again.

We visited on a Sunday evening. The staff are so friendly and help full the owners Sam came out and introduced himself and was so friendly. We had a mixture of starters to share between the 6 of us and all was amazing. The main course was as good all piping hot and freshly prepared. We will definitely be back soon.

First time we have eaten here. Bit of a wait to get seated but well worth the wait. Had banquet, all courses were really high quality and we all enjoyed all them. Staff were really good with quick friendly service. Was busy which contributed to a good atmosphere. I look forward to going again.

was told it would be ready for a certain time turned up and still waited 25 minutes inside.The hot and sour soup was tasteless,very insipid;lacking many usual items that i expect in a good hot and sour soup. both main dishes had huge lumps of cauliflower and other veg in them as fillers;the beef in black bean was also very poor,3 meagre slices of beef in a boring plain sauce. the fried rice was also very run of the mill; to add insult to injury we both had terrible thirsts throughout the night,non stop water to compensate. there are many better chinese restaurants in clitheroe and the surrounding areas. we wouldnt return:

Called on spec mid week, had a fab meal chicken and sweetcorn soup, ribs and prawn toasts to start. Then had cantonese chicken with rice and noodles which we both really enjoyed and will be coming again.

Our caucasian Male waiter was very chatty and had a nice manner. Service very good i do hope the Tip went to him, Disappointed that I did not give it straight to him.

Booked a table for four shown to our table right away before we ordered our drinks there was a plate of prawn crackers had our drinks ordered our meal we ordered a buffet for four and it was fantastic. The service was great and even explained our dishes to us. Excellent.

We went to Kong SAN on a bank holiday weekend and the staff were so welcoming and the food was absolutely amazing. Really well priced too. The house beer was also incredible. Couldn’t recommend this place enough

Visited this quaint restaurant on a Thursday night. Surprised just how busy it really was which inspired to believe that actually this restaurant really was as good as people were saying. Pleasantly surprised by the food, service and the quality. Really will be making this a regular little haunt to drop in and have a Cantonese. We got the prawns in salt-and-pepper, duck and garlic chicken and all were absolutely beautiful and amazing fabulous flavours. Highly recommend reasonable priced great environment friendly staff service with a smile.

Went to celebrate our sons 18th birthday, we all had banquet c and it was so delicious! The food was hot and with just the right amount of time between each course. We all thoroughly enjoyed it and will be back again!

We have now been here three times and every time the food and staff have been fantastic. This time it was my husbands birthday and we took our children with us. The food never fails to offer complete satisfaction ( if you love Chinese dishes). The staff as always were attentive, chatty, and smiley. Value for money excellent, six people with pre dinner drinks, two bottles of wine and 3 glasses of red wine, ££185.00 a bargain !

7 of us have just had a lovely meal at this popular restaurant, I am glad I booked 2 weeks before because it was very busy. We all had starters and main meal and the food and service was brilliant, they were very very busy but they look after us brilliantly.

We visited the Kong San in Clitheroe last night for the first time and were delighted with our meal. Delicious crispy beef in chilli sauce and a great Cantonese mix of beef, chicken and pork, all served in a sizzling dish with chow mein and egg fried rice. King do spare ribs as starters were good too. The service was excellent. Friendly staff and happy to chat despite a busy Friday night. If there is a criticism, it's only that , as with most Chinese restaurants the lighting was a bit bright, but the decor was good and the food more than made up for that. This is a great asset to the town and we definitely will return. Less than £50 with a few drinks for two.

Just love dining at this gem of a restaurant. A menu full of favourites, freshly cooked and delicious and service which is attentive and helpful. Cannot recommend highly enough, its all you expect and that little bit more!

We selected a range of food as it was our first time here and wanted to know what we would choose for any future takeaway. Service was polite and professional and food served promptly. Quality was excellent with the food tasting fresh. We will definitely visit again but we had one concern. We ate downstairs and we could not see any fire exit signs.Obviousley fires are a rare occurance but with the open kitchen upstairs and seemingly only one way out from the downstairs dining area, it was a bit of a concern. Otherwise a great and tasty meal with great service.

A very busy place with a great atmosphere. The male waiter was very attentative and did a fantastic job. I was disappointed with the lack of tofu being a vegan which is my go to!. I had vegetables which were okay but the portion was small and left feeling hungry. My stepdaughter enjoyed her sweet sour chicken.

Just had a lovely family meal at this Cantonese restaurant, from the appetiser to the main meal all the food was very tasty and plentiful. Glad we booked because they were 6 of us and it was soon filling up even though it was a Wednesday night. Enjoy

Decided to try the newest offering Chinese / Cantonese restaurant in Clitheroe , was a very busy Friday night so opted for a take away , usual suspects menu available and whilst I was awaiting preparation of my order some lovely looking steaming hot food was served :) , My food when served at home was excellent and I will be back soon !!

We had first noticed this restaurant in May during the Ribble Valley Jazz and Blues festival as it seemed really quite busy, which can be a good sign.

This is a really nice Chinese restaurant. The food, service, ambiance and price are very good. We have been twice this year and have not been disappointed yet. It is getting busier since it first opened, so I would strongly recommend booking if you plan to go over a weekend. We will definitely go again.

I visited here last night with friends & family as it was recommended by my cousins daughter who had a takeaway the week before , and we were not let down ! The place had a really good ambience and the staff were fantastic especially the young man who served us ... he was very patient with us as we were noisy! And the food was served quickly and was excellent! We will definitely be back !

Me and my partner come here every couple of weeks the food is always great and is very consistent all of the staff are very friendly and helpful too would highly recommend this restaurant!

We still miss Jenni Pho's which was the previous version of the restaurant but not too much as she has brought all of her expertise to this new version. Both the "sit in" and "take away" offer a great choice and great value. Visit soon!

We went on a busy night but didn't feel it was a very long wait for food. The food was hot and tasty. They did forget to bring one of our side orders, so we reminded them, and this item was nocked off our bill because it didn't arrive with the rest of the main meal. Staff were polite, welcoming and had a sense of humour.

Came here yesterday for a family meal the food was amazing the crispy duck pancakes were absolutly fantastic we had no complaints had a lovely meal and lots to drink to go with service was fast only niggle was the service staff werent very good seemed a little lost and lingered at the table to much but all in all was a good meal and would be returning :)

Just called in on the off chance of a table for two. What a wonderful time, whisked off to a table, attentive staff and amazing food, ribs for starters massive portions, plenty of rice and noodles. Main courses came on a metal sizzling griddle and stayed hot for the duration of the meal. No massive Thirst after so even happier. Will definitely be going again. Just returned from a lovely meal. Service was super fast and food delicious. Our 10 year son is very fussy but demolished his food. Definately recommend.

The wonderful aroma of Cantonese cooking wafts down the street and entices you inside! There's an open kitchen where fresh ingredients are cooked while you wait. To start we enjoyed crunchy spring rolls and spicy, meaty succulent ribs. Main courses: chow mein full of king prawns, chicken, and beef; beef and green pepper in a black bean sauce; a side dish of egg fried rice. Portions are generous. The food is fresh, delicious and beautifully presented. Staff are friendly, helpful and charming. We had a lovely evening at Kong San and will definitely return when back in town. This newly opened restaurant in Clitheroe deserves every success.

Just had a very good takeaway meal from this restaurant, I rang my order in and it was ready within 15 minuets. The food was very tasty and the restaurant looked very nice, can’t wait to try the restaurant.

The starters were delicious, and piping hot, duck pancakes ( expertly shredded by Ben) and main courses which were sizzling and delicious. Lovely food and brilliant service, especially Ben. Great to have a Chinese restaurant back in clitheroe. Will definitely be back!

Four of us had dinner. The excellent food was served quickly. The staff are wonderful and are full of smiles and warmth. I would recommend the crispy duck - beautifully cooked and very carefully served. This is a must go back to place.

So pleased! Finally there is a good Chinese Restaurant/takeaway in Clitheroe or should I say a 50 mile radius! The food is prepared fresh not pre prepared and warmed up. It's tasty and perfectly balanced. We got a takeaway on the way home from a long days work. We had prawn toast, salt and pepper chicken wings and chicken chow mein. All very good. Would definitely recommend.
