Regent House in Ribble Valley

Came last week and had the set meal for 2. Came again this week to make sure it was as delicious as we remembered and we were not disappointed 😋 Lovely owner also, who helped us choose dishes.

The best Cantonese/Chinese in Whalley. I don't need to say anything else and it's certainly much better than the fiery

Best Chinese in the area, third a few things from there, last time it was curry. Meat felt fresh and soft, rice was nice, curry was nice, with a bit of a spice to it, just right for it to not be blunt. Will be ordering again today, so excited 😊

My kids are very picky, Regent House adapted their meals without issue, my Vermicilli was super fresh and tasty, kids were very happy and said it was the best They'd had. Starters and sauce were a hit. Kids gave it a 9 and a 10. Very impressed. Will definitely use again

Best Chinese take away we've found in years

Wow, just doesn't cover what you get at this family run Take Away. I ordered Shrimp Chow Mein and wow, what a suprise. The portion was Hugh, enough for two really and the quality was superb, a good range of veg with noodles and every bit was oh so tasty. Her indoors got the Barbecue Spare ribs with fried rice and curry sauce. Again, large portions and she was amazed how tasty the ribs were, and proper Chinese Chippy Curry sauce. Which I also tried and it was delicious. Will definitely be back. Only slight criticism was the waiting time as a lot of telephone orders arrived for pick up.

Always a good take out. The owner David never fails to deliver a good authentic Chinese.

Fantastic half crispy duck.. Chicken fried rice is excellent and a huge portion.Chicken and spring onion with ginger and Chicken and veg also excellent..

Oh wow! The chef has simply given up. The food was genuinely unexceptional. The fried chicken in my dish was chewy and seemed days old. The rice and [especially] the chips were completely overcooked. These are cheap and easy to make yet this takeaway managed to serve undoubtedly warmed, old produce. Genuinely, if you can't get the rice and chips right, how can a customer trust the main dish?? The rice was more like Thai sticky-rice and the chips were shrivelled and seemed visibly days old. I live locally and I won't go back unless there is a buy-out with new owners.

Worst Chinese I've ever had. Used to be good but quality now in the toilet. Chips so dried up, they could be used as bullets and obviously inedible, rice overcooked and sticky. Food bland and chicken tough! Obviously, not busy enough to sell the food they cook, so when you order you get warmed up food. When I complained, he told me to bring the food back and I had to get it out of the bin!! Really bad customer service. Will never order from them again and I live 3 doors away!! I would give zero stars but he gave me my money back.

First visit, spicy special and special fried rice, seperate portion of chips. Both dishes very bland especially the spicy one. Chips very dry and like warm ups. £20 for 2 meals, not worth the money at all, would not return

Food is excellent and the front of house staff are very friendly. The boss at the back is a grumpy guy but hey as long as he sticks to cooking it's grand.

From the staggeringly poor ingredients to the “let’s not tell the customers until after they’ve ordered the food that we don’t take cards” nonsense it’s hard to come up with enough vocab to say how dreadful this awful flawed place is. Please please avoid

Don’t know where to start. The fact that you are not told until your ready to pay that you can’t use a debit card or the staggeringly poor ingredients ? First and last time I’ll be visiting. Please avoid

After reading some positive reviews I thought I'd give this place a try. Very bad idea. I had chicken Satay that I believe is a rich peanut sauce usually. The sauce was insipid and barely tasted of peanuts at all. It was dreadful. The chicken was inedible. I threw it away. Very cheap reformed chicken. I could not offer anything positive about this establishment.

Visiting the area for a weekend break, chippy had reviews in the lodge guest book quoting nice food... Understatement. Dry, shriveled chips that could put a window through, thick black hair in my chicken fried rice and chewy, rubbery chicken for the satay :) how delightful. Tossed in the bin and left a review in the visitor book too!

We have only recently started using the Regent takeaway and what a great find! Excellent quality food,good portions,good price.During Covid they are following all the rules and the place is very clean. HIGHLY recommended!

Brilliant takeaway! They have great vegan options - not just tofu/veg, but plant-based chicken/plant-based beef too (just not on the menu yet, but ring and ask). Generous portion sizes and all tasted great. 5*, definitely ordering again!

The portions of food are very generous. The duck is the best I have had from a takeaway and the staff are very friendly. I recommend you try this place.

This is hands down the best Chinese takeaway I’ve ever had. We had a set menu for 2 and everything was delicious. Normally I’m not a fan of duck because everywhere 8’ve had it it’s always been dry but this was moist and juicy and I couldn’t fault it even if I wanted to. We also had sweet and sour chicken- you can’t go wrong and Pork in their O.K sauce which was utterly amazing. We were talking to the owner while we were in their and he was incredibly friendly. We will definitely be going back. I cannot recommend this place highly enough.

The food was great, called up to make an order and was ready within 15 minutes, friendly staff upon collection, a great local business to support during these times, will be back.

We ordered Wan-tun, which were overcooked and wrapped so tightly that there was no choice but to consume the full burned piece, pastry and all. There was a gelatinous residue all over the chicken that was not pleasant in the mouth. The chips were re-heated or overcooked. Three mains with accompaniments and one starter with a side of chips was just over £30.00 so not great value either. For the first time I binned what I didn't eat, and needed to brush the taste away form having eaten. If we had had alternative food in, we would have stopped eating, binned this takeaway and cooked something else. Poor flavour, distinctly average quality food not very well prepared at all.

We ordered a banquet...the customer service was brilliant from start to finish...the food was delicious and the bottle of wine given was a bonus too. All round excellent experience.

Felt very authentic. A fun stop while in Whalley. . Sweet & Sour King Prawn and Crispy Duck in Peking Sauce were terrific. Best Chinese food I’ve had.

This is by far the best food in Whalley for good Chinese food. Tried the other and it was not known the contents of food we was eating. Go to the Regent for quality, quantity and good prices

Lived in the area for about 4 years now and never really visited this place until my local was closed (planned closure) when I went to get some food. I thought I would give this place a go and I am so glad I did.. Hot tasty food better than my usual haunt... went back a few days later to try another dish and I think I met the owner David... I told him my story and he wanted to know the feedback on the dishes. Very nice man too! My new local Chinese may have just been changed. This place doesn't look all that from the outside but the team are friendly and the food tastes great!

I've recently moved to Whalley and I didn't think I'd find another Chinese Take Away that made my favourite dish as good as my previous local Chinese but Regent House was amazing good! Definitely worth a try :)

Great tasting food, freshly cooked to order (as you'd expect). Nice range of options / menu selections. Have used a couple of times. My midweek treat when I can't be bothered to cook myself!

A new Price List has been published in which the new prices are between 11% & 12% higher and the takeaway no longer accepts cards, i.e. cash only. The food is still as good and there is now a handrail for the front door step. Half Aromatic Crispy Duck is huge.

Came in and got the best Sweet chilli chicken I've ever had. Though they said 15 minutes on the phone it was actually 20 but it's a small price to pay for good food.

Has changed a bit since I last went, now has handlebar by step at front door. Starters were a bit greasy for our taste, Crispy Duck though, could have been best ever, Chicken Satay was ok, too. Takeaway only, on street parking, now cash only. Friendly service, order ready at time promised.

Food normally good but be careful ordering anything remotely spicy, they really overdo the chillies

I've had the banquet for two deal from there a number of times and there is so much food that it can easily feed 3 hungry people. It's tasty, always piping hot and I think the service, while slow, it polite and helpful.

Been going here for years but recently the meals have been really bad - last week was the final straw when I found stainless steel scrubber pieces in my meal! Too late to complain but will never go again - Whalley needs to have a better place than this!

Friendly family run Chinese. Food is the best I've had. Love it.

Absolute garbage. Salt n Pepper ribs, distinct lack of meat. Lemon chicken ,far to much soggy batter . Very thin chicken. Crispy beef lacking taste overcooked. Frozen chips. Twenty quid down the drain.

Phone order fulfilled within 15 minutes, decent quality, Cantonese menu. There is a step at the front door with handrail.

Bloody well nice. Tried loads of local Chinese takeaways before finding this one. Recommend: S+P chicken wings Crispy sweet chilli beef

Foods always okay.. S&P chicken wings are great and good value as is the special chow mein. Enjoy
