Chips are a much lower standard (for the second time). They were always freshly fried, light and crispy. Now they are dense, heavy, non-crispy and slightly clumped together - no longer a pleasure to eat, which is a real shame. On a brighter note, my doner kebab was served in a delicious flat bread and the portion size was great.

Stayed here for one night on work business. The bedroom was nice, comfy bed and fairly tasteful decor (apart from the lion pictures everywhere!!). Free car parking is available and the reception staff were helpful and friendly. However our evening experience was really poor. I’m not sure exactly what was happening but there was some kind of filming going on and (I think) various staff were being interviewed. This then resulted in the kitchen being closed and not taking any food orders. When we asked to see the manager, we were told various tales including “the manager isn’t on site”, “the filming has tripped all the electric and gas (!) in the kitchen” before bringing told the kitchen had miraculously reopened. It felt like the filming took priority and was more important than paying guests. Equally in the morning at breakfast guests were asked to sit in certain places, out of the way of any filming, making us feel like an inconvenience. I wouldn’t recommend sadly.

Nice setting with good atmosphere which unlike many eateries nowadays carried on throughout the evening and was still busy going on ten o’clock. Food was good and wine reasonably priced and good quality. Staff excellent. Mention for Adele who oversaw our evening. One tip for others. Ask for thin cut chips as chunky were average quality frozen.

The Subway restaurant located on Weston Road, right next to the Crewe train station, is a convenient spot for travelers and locals alike. This Subway offers a cozy and welcoming atmosphere, perfect for grabbing a quick bite before catching your train or after a long journey. One of the standout items on their menu is the Big Cheese Steak SubMelt. This delicious sub features tender, juicy steak slices, generously layered with melted cheese that oozes with every bite. The steak is perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection, making it a hearty and satisfying option. The sub is then topped with your choice of fresh vegetables and signature sauces, all nestled in a freshly baked, toasted sub roll. Whether you prefer it spicy, tangy, or creamy, you can customize it to your liking, ensuring every bite is a burst of flavor. If you’re in the area, the Big Cheese Steak SubMelt at Subway on Weston Road is definitely worth a try

This is my local which used to be a 3 minute walk from my old house. We moved in January 2021 with another pub more local to us. No contest, we stayed with The Flying Lady as our local with Gill and the team who are just the best and most friendly team you can get. Sunday lunch is served and can be served as a take away. The quality of the food is absolutel amazing and the portions are off the chart, such good value for money. You can get baps on a Satirday afternoon to watch the football with the pub having both Sky and TNT across 4 screens for great views from most angles. The pub caters for events and having had the food from the catering I can attest that Gill serves the best sandwhiches in Crewe and the most amazing spread in general so highly recommended. D&D early in the week, Wednesday night is quiz and I hear its very popular with Karaoke on a Saturday. What I love the most about The Lady is that no matter what day I go in I can have a laugh as there is always someone there to have a casual chat to and a general giggle. On the flip side if I have work to do before heading home from the office, I can set myself up and have a pint with my laptop and I am left alone to get on with it. Great pub for anyones taste.

Visited today with a friend . She had got the sparking afternoon tea voucher as a 60th birthday gift. We were quickly seated by a fairly friendly lady. Tea arrived (from a selection of about 8/9) and was very nice . Room was clean and crockery lovely. Lady asked did ask if any allergies . As we walked in I noticed that every table had left a lot of food which was unusual for me? Anyway when ours arrived I immediately could see why. We weren’t talked through it or told what the cakes were (some we still don’t know), no menu either. When a hotel charging £31 per person you at least bake your own scones or buy the ones that aren’t 4 for £1.50 in Aldi/iceland. Little Victoria sponges were as hard as rocks. Shop bought Scones made worse by being served with buttercream rather than clotted cream?! I took a bite out of curtesy but it was shocking. I LOVE afternoon tea and would never ever not take left overs (if there was any) home but we left 3 and a half scones out of 4 & over 70% of the other cakes. Shocking. Lady didn’t ask how it was so we just left. We noted a table of 3 left most of theirs too - I heard them complain but the lady just kind of shrugged I don’t think there was much she could do? Would defiantly never go back and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. We had afternoon tea at rookery 3 weeks ago and that was a million miles better . To the hotel- please listen to these reviews. This was a special birthday and we felt dreadful that someone had spent £60 on shocking food
