Vegan fish and chips, what’s not to love, I was so impressed, trying to find decent vegan food isn’t easy, but the Neptune came up trumps. There was the choice of 4 meals. Fabulous food

Neptune fish and chips are brilliant you cannot beat their large Fish and the fish goujons are also a great size, you can get delivery as each time we go there are queues of delivery guys collecting. They also do swarma too the chicken and chicken tandoori is excellent. The chips are massive portions even the small one you cannot go wrong value for money for sure, oh did I mention they make the and I mean the very best onion rings from fresh cooked from fresh you cannot beat these guys. We live on Wychwood park and prefer to drive over there for our fish supper whenever we have if I lived closer I would be there far more often.

Just had some dinner there. Cod and chips were nice, good portions but scampi were disgusting! Instantly regretted eating some :-/

As always, another great meal, food is always hot and fresh, staff are very friendly. I've seen a couple of negative reviews on here but they are not typical of the food I have had from here. (You can't blame the chippy because Just Eat take a long time to deliver!!). Definitely worth a visit

Estimated order time was over an hour later than stated. They are closer to us than our normal chippy for delivery on a Friday night thought we would try a recommendation...... HUGE HUGE Mistake.... will not be ordering from there again... cold chips bad enough BUT FISH......

Stone cold food. Threw them in the bin. Dont waste your money here. The food was not fit to eat and smelt old. This used t be a good place. Not any more

Our quest to find a great chippy in Cheshire continues. We popped into Neptune’s and bought chips with a couple of potato scallops, but we wish we hadn’t. At 6pm, we expect fresh, crispy batter, not chewy and rubbery. The chips were also dry and incredibly disappointing. Well done for getting a fiver out of us, but we’re not coming back.

Oh my goodness. I think must of been last order as they were closing. Some people would love this if they like quantity. I prefer quality. Nice bit of salad at least. Loads of chips also, saves them getting rid of waste, I guess.

Neptune's changed hand in the summer. Since then I've been getting top quality fish, chips and peas from them every week. Also very quick service.

Yo so basically me n the boys were out and we were peckish so we decided to make our wway over to crewe (we live in belfast) the reason we trecked so far is because we saw that crewe had a fish and chip shop called neptunes,(hense the review) so when me n the boys arrived i was looking at this kind of elderly woman and she looked back at me and i felt a connection. i went inside and ordereda small medium chips, and she said "pardon?!!!! we dont have that what would you like medium or small??" and i said "large please" so she wasnt very helpful but hay ho. SO got me me munch and i was about 2 chips deep and i thought to myself these are pengers so i threw some of my chips on the floor no help thanks to the speccy one, anyway w wr all munching and we have decided that we will visit this establishment evry euros and world cup anyways got to go Love you bye from L dawg, C man , KMAN, KMAN, CMAN, SMAN

Fish dry, peas hard, rubbish , over priced rubbish fit for the bin , I'd go elsewhere , not sure how they can operate selling this crap.

Today my husband decided to buy fish and chips at this place. He brought it home, when i opened it i did not know to cry or laugh, it was the worst fish and chips i have ever seen. The person who served my husband was smiling and she was telling him its fresh. We wonder what is it like when its not fresh. We ended up bin £16 worth “something called food”.If i could give -10 star i would.

Ordered kebab meat and chips. Donner meat was white and way undercooked. Gutted because I’ve been using Neptune’s for a while. Called them but they weren’t prepared to help and didn’t seem interested. Won’t use again.

If you like traditional fish and chips this is the place to go. I go every week and get a great meal. Ample portions, well cooked, great cod (no substitutes), chips & peas. He uses a sunflower oil, which is high in good fats and tastes great.

Always a pleasure visiting Neptunes. Staff are friendly and helpful and the fish and chips are more than worth the journey from the other side of Crewe. Manager Jimmy has even sourced cod’s roe for me when it is not even on the menu - A must that ‘regulars’ should try. You will not be disappointed. After you see the portions and try the fish and chips you will not want to go anywhere else. Probably the best fish and chip shop in the North West.

Just been to collect an pre order. Fish huge sausages not greesy and chips lovely. Was plenty to go around with some to spare. Excellent speedy service and very well priced

Great food, always freshly cooked and cooked well.The Double Fried chips are superb....traditional on the outside and wonderfully soft on the inside.Now available Chicken Curry and Rice...but be quick as it sells out really fast.Quick mention to the girls serving as well..excellent service with a smile.

Just deleted my previous high rating...Reopened after lockdown and for the first few weeks was excellent with new man doing the frying and taking a pride if costing more in gas. Then things went wrong and an older man who used to be in charge (I thought he was dead!) has reappeared. Over three weeks the quality has collapsed and service is slower, they seem to be back to the old problem of running out of chips - and obviously whilst waiting for them the fish are going soggy.

Only asked for 4 things and they got 2 of them wrong. Also, used to get quite big portions and now everything is half the size for the same price. Usually, wouldn't go to any other chippy but will definitely be trying others in the area before coming back here again.

Recently had fish and chips from here, we always had lovely big fish, light crispy batter, but the last ones we had were half the size, the batter was greasy, the chips were put in a cardboard box, which were cold by the time I got home, don’t know what’s happened, but will not return.

Very disappointed with our fish and chips from NeptunesFish had obviously been cooked and stood a long time. ChipsPortion contained batter scratchings and the peas were moreLike a sauce. In general wished I hadn’t wasted my money.Would definitely not recommend.

Nice chips. Not tried much more than the chips but they were really good and we have them regularly.

Best chippy in Crewe, hands down. If your having chips, they'll ram them chips into the tray until you can't fit anymore in. I recommend the sausage special with curry sauce £2.90! Winner!

Friendly family business with very good food and reasonably priced. There is one better but that is in Nantwich, but nothing to beat Neptune in the Crewe area.

We needed a quick stop to eat. Traveling from Tamworth and starving hungry. Didn't know what to do. So tried this little corner chip shop in a row of terraced houses.

Just had a mini fish special for £3.70 fish was so white, was also a decent sized mini fish. chips tasted good too! Great quality fish and chips. Would highly recommend!

The place has very nice food and has very friendly staff, we had fish, chips and mushy peas which were all excellent. It is also ideally next to the grand junction retail park which was very handy. Prices are really good for the portions you get. Wouldn’t go anywhere else...

The "mini" fish, chips and peas s an absolute bargain. I have but the mini in inverted commas as there is nothing small about the fish. Thick tasty white fish in great batter. you cannot beat it

Will never go anywhere else, I know people who travel a good few miles for this place, organise, great staff, great chips, fish, everything lovely. People queuing outside! The owner is also one of the friendliest. I won’t entertain anywhere else 😀

This is a place which serves good quality food and has friendly staff. It is ideally located near to the Grand Junction retail park. Well worth a visit.

Old reviews with mention of long waits are probably previous owner who could cook good fish or good chips - but never get them coordinated! The replacement has got his act together. Had haddock chips peas tonight fish over cooked hard on the edge even though it was cooked fresh so disappointed it's suppose to be #1 in Crewe not for me it's not think I'll stick to Corornation St chippy, sorry.

Ordered food and within 5 minutes ready. Great fish and chips and back for work within 30 minutes. Would request for it to be opened abit longer possibly 2.30pm

Sent the government funded jeoy to get our dinner. Gave an order of steak pie, chips and gravy. Was given steak pie, chips and curry. Brilliant. Was nice though.

Wouldn't bother going here again. You get big portions but who wants loads of average chips. Bread bap was rubbish and the curry sauce was very bland. Well worth going a bit out of town to The Fish Bar off Coppenhall lane.

Excelente pescado y patatas fritas cada vez que tendrá que esperar mientras cocinan pescados, etc. pero vale la pena la espera, el tamaño de la porción es muy bueno y el personal era servicial y agradable. El aparcamiento en la calle en el cruce parece estar bien, pero la calle es siempre doble aparcado así que ten cuidado. El parque comercial tiene un sistema eye magic así tomar de lo contrario recibirá un bien en el post.

A nice clean fish & chip shop, staff polite and very clean. Most general foods being served, but the fish is highly recommended. I would go there anytime. Reasonably priced, and the fish just melts in your mouth.

Dont order a large fish and chips unless you are sharing the portions are enormous and they are brilliantly prepared.The best fish I have tasted in any chippy, the chicken kebab meat is really nice if you fancy a change.

This chippy never lets you down, always good, fresh fish and plenty of chips. The staff are very friendly. The only thing is as it is so popular there is often a long wait.

When Neptunes got took over recently the food was still excellent, but the portions seemed to be smaller.I am delighted to say on my last visits they are back to their generous portions and still cooked perfectly.

It's ok to eat there for few times per month. but I think this bar physically isn't the best one. Looks like from 90's. Fish is gorgeous but chips are bit saggy.

I always used to enjoy going to Neptune's for mini fish and chips. It was great quality with lovely crisp chips and a couple of pieces of golden cod, so great value too. The last couple of times I've been, it's just really not as good as it was. Today, I emptied the contents of the polystyrene box onto my plate, and it just came out as a solid, greasy block of food, with the chips, mushy peas and fish all squashed and congealed together. Not very appetising. Add this to the recent 1 star hygiene rating and it's really not somewhere I want to go back to now.

I have gone neptunes for years and the food has always been spot on.It has changed hands awhile a go and I don't feel as if it is such good value.We always have a mini fish and chips we always got at least two small fish, but now we only get one Small fish, so making it not such good value.But we have never ever had anything bad from here, everything is always fresh and piping hot and very nice.

Very good value for money, huge portions and great fish. Can be a bit chaotic when you go if its busy but you get your food in the end.

Really excellent small fish and chips, good value and you get plenty.Also they do a lovely doner meat and chips, again you get plenty, one portion is more than enough for me and my partner.Staff are always really pleasant, and it's always lovely and clean.

First time here today and glad we did excellent value for money and friendly staff will be back again.

Just moved to Crewe a couple of weeks back and some friends recommended Neptunes. I had a great piece of fresh haddock and chips and my husband had cod and a large chips!!! Really good portion size compared with down south and very reasonable priced. Very friendly staff.

In a town whose football team is currently languishing near the bottom of a very poor Division One, I am very pleased to be able to say that Neptune’s takes top spot in competition with all the excellent fish and chip shops in Crewe. Everything is freshly cooked, the portions are huge and always value for money whilst the owner is engaging and will go out of his way to ensure that all of his customers go away satisfied.

We live close to the chippy and are very lucky for it! Very friendly owner George always greets and waves in the street. Huge portions, great value always worth a trip*****!

I have been to a lot of chip shops round Crewe and I still think Neptunes is the best! George and the staff are fantastic and always friendly. Definitely recommend going.

We live close to the chippy, as a house we eat there 4/5 times a week. Great owner and staff always smiling and the best chippy food in Crewe I've had. Not from Crewe and is one of the best I've had even compared to back home. Advise people to definitely eat here.

The actual fish and chips are similar to coronation street however this is far more expensive. The food was below par as it was served to us cold and when we complained as we ate it on the bench opposite on a not too cold day. The woman working behind the desk didn't seem complacent at all and told us to leave as their is a queue. They are lucky to get 2 stars as the food and service were not upto any standard of accommodation. Clue to my title go to coronation street!

I have used this Chippy for years now, I dont have em very often but when I do this is the place (pardon the pun) the fish are freshly cooked and the chips are proper.Little tip = DO NOT ASK FOR A LARGE PORTION OF CHIPS UNLESS YOU HAVE A WHEELBARROW LOL

What can I say- no place to seat inside, my fish was slightly overcooked, gravy tasteless, waitress seemed to be unhappy and impatient about me choosing so long.Im not going to revisit.

We popped in here on a Friday night while staying in Crewe just before 9. it was a good job because they close at 9 but we were glad we got in. Everything was cooked from fresh the fish was crispy and chips were tasty. All in all a lovely traditional chip shop managed by an owner who obviously cares about what he does and his customers.

This is a really good chippy. . Fish is top quality, the owner, George, fries everything in rapeseed oil and is never tight with portions. Great chips, mushy peas are a must, and the chicken curry is awesome. Try it when in town.

The food here is generous, the value excellent. Variety really good and service quick and efficient.The full time lady lets the place down as I go every week and am yet to see a smile this year, but the guy that owns it makes up for that with a genuine welcome and hospitality.The best chippy in Crewe - by miles.
