The best restaurants serving Default food in Bassingham and Brant Broughton North Kesteven East Midlands

we have recently purchased a holiday home at torksey lock,are local pub is the white swan run by julie and neil ,who are very welcoming to all.we hace eaten here twice now and have been overwhelmed by the portions of home cooked food you get for the price it is absolutely fantastic,it is hard to recommend a dish because we went as a group of 6 and each one of us raved about our own dishes.we will definitely be eating there again and again

Went for Sunday lunch, nice welcome and shown to our table. The menu is on chalk boards around the walls. STarters were asparagus and mushroom croquettes they were absolutely delicious, creamy inside and crisp on the outside, served with a wonderful mushroom sauce. Mains roast beef and all the trimmings for me, chicken stuffed with spinach for hubby. The desserts were works of art, a blueberry tart for me served warm, I was in heaven and hubby had a pecan and maple syrup sponge with custard, wow it looked so light and he loved it. Real shame that we live in Hertfordshire a two and a half hour drive away. If we lived remotely nearby, we would eat here a few times a month. Parking right outside opposite the restaurant in a lovely little village

This was recommended by a helpful stranger who was a local. He said the food was great and it was exceptional value, and he was right. The three course £9.99 lunch is excellent. The chef has been one of the best and although now able to retire he continues as a one man band doing the job he loves and serving the food he knows well. If I could describe the food it is classic, hearty and retro. Chef's skills are very apparent and the silver service is a nice touch. I rediscovered my love for egg mayonnaise as a starter! The whole experience was an absolute delight and I would certainly go again. We were lucky though as he only does 8 covers so best to book in advance.

Tonight was my second visit since the White Hart has changed hands and most certainly won't be my last. There is a lovely warm welcome and ambience to the place that really shows that they care. The food on both visits has been amazing, as has the service. It's definitely worth a try..

Came here for food last week with family and everyone left very happy. The food quality was great and the service from the was very friendly.

Food was very poor we go out most Sundays this was the worst it's like a buffet/ carvery no presentation poor quality disappointed puddings went back and removed from the bill

Was by far the worst food I've ever eaten. The kids pizzas tasted and smelt like limescale water and the burgers had no taste to them. Staff on tills were snappy and looked like they couldn't be bothered to have to do their job. Shocking and will never visit again

I have never eaten here before it had.. Amazing food, friendly, attentive service. Great selection of wines. Best food I have eaten for a long time. An absolute gem. Will be back x x

Lovely food and staff were so friendly and welcoming

Superb place to eat in the village, the food and staff were superb yet again. Choice, quality and quantity of food wre all top notch. Excellent value for money and the choice of drinks wer not overpriced. Second visit even though it was 7 miles of our route and we will be back when ver in the area.

The Green Man Pub recently hosted an event for us and one of our guests wrote the following which I think says it all: "Such a fantastic, delicious spread by The Green man ... WONDERFUL. They certainly did you proud. We must go in again."

Nice food, better than most pub grub we've experienced recently. Good service and pleasant staff. Definitely visit again.

Food was brilliant & Susie was very kind & attentive. Drinks came quickly as did our starters. Will definitely be coming back!

Drive through is terrible when they are busy, Third time in a row the milkshakes weren't remotely set so refused them this time, average wait is around 20mins, they havnt got order bang on with any of last few, luckily this time in our favour. Advice would be if you see carpark full and que out onto road, go to the next one along as will be a long wait with dissapointing (hot cold food mix). They are simply to busy at peak times to deliver quality service. Good for the tills, bad for the customer.
