My wife and I went for Sunday lunch it wasn't very busy, we were shown to are table and ordered drinks when the drinks arrived we ordered a Sunday roast (beef) when the roast arrived it wasn't hot it was warm so I didn't think it was worth complaining about this is the third time we have had a Sunday roast here so we will be back again soon and I will ask for are dinners to be hot if it isn't i will send it back and then we won't be going back anymore, also when I paid the bill I had a 33% off if you spent £30 or more the bill came to £35.03 so i was expecting 33% off only to be told that the bill was £29.19 so I couldn't use the 33% off code even though I paid £35.03 so we were left puzzled. Terrible! Granted we rolled up mid afternoon between lunch and dinner service but the place looked derelict and we thought it had closed down. The door was opened and so we ventured inside for a meal. The food was terrible. The fish was burnt batter with a piece of pollock the size of a matchbox when it was found. The steak meal was also appalling, we realised it was only going to be a small piece but my request for it to be medium rare was ignored and it was just a burnt, dried offering when it arrived. We used the toilets before leaving and both the ladies and the gents were in a terrible mess… smelly, paper strewn from cubicle to entrance door. By far the worst toilets we’ve been in for years.

Come out of Lincoln Bomber place and this Beefeater was just across the road, no booking but managed to be seated. Our main server was Geoff, a lovely friendly person. Food was good, exactly what was expected from a Beefeater. Quite a large dinning area and clean

My wife and I went here with my elderly father as we were visiting Lincoln for the day and needed a bite. First, the staff. Everyone we met were friendly, knowledgeable and efficient at their jobs. We were sat down and didn't have to wait for any length of time for menus, to give our orders or for our food. Yet, it was not rushed , it was just right. As for the food , it was excellent. Probably my the best Beefeater food I have had. Well presented, decent size portions and delicious. My prawn skewer was delicious and my father's fish and chips and wife's smothered chicken were both said to be the same. Our desserts too were fantastic. Chain restaurants can vary from one branch to the next and although generally I find beefeater really good, The Mill Lodge really hit every spot. When I am back in Lincoln then I know where I will be heading.

With this being a chain I wasn’t expecting too much but I was pleasantly surprised. Felt very safe, really good, quick and friendly service and the food was all to a high standard and steak cooked perfectly. Highlight for me was the chicken and ribs and the sticky toffee pudding. First time going to a beefeater restaurant. The food was fantastic, the service( looking on my receipt) was Amber p great service.But what we noticed and had a conversation with a girl that was helping out which she said she was from Gateway Park, she said she loved her job and was recommending what dishes to try and what great choice she gave us.I really do hope we get to see her at Gateway as her customer service was amazing and wish there was more like her, poilte, welcoming, interested in the customers she wore glasses and had a funny laugh early 40s.Well done Beefeater for the hospitality andtaking on a great girl to help you out, will be posting on Gateway Park so she does get recognised.

We visited the restaurant for dinner while on a trip to LincolnFirst thing we noticed as we walked in was the clear one way system in place, and we felt very safe with all the COVID regulations put in place Our food was lovely, with the highlight being seeing our youngest munch his way through the gammon steak!Service was excellent, very friendly staff, who were attentive but not overbearing. We would like to say thank you to Amber P, and Paul, who both made our evening great! 100% would come again, definitely recommend for a family visit

Just returned from a 3 night stay at the Premier Inn and we enjoyed 3 lovely Breakfasts and 3 Delicious Evening meals at Mill Lodge. It had only reopened a couple of days before we went but the Team had everything to perfection from social distancing to hand sanatising and one way systems.At Breakfast there was still the usual choice, the Team take your order and it was brought to your table.We felt totally safe throughout. The evening meals were delicious, The steak was cooked as we asked and cooked to perfection. I would like to give special mentions and a huge Thank you to Paul, Steph, Chris and Chloe who looked after us throughout and not forgetting the Chefs and the rest of the Team. You are a credit to Beefeater and we will be back

The service we received was really good. We were seated quickly and our waiter was really friendly and helpful.We found the food disappointing though....The calamari starter looked really unappetising - literally in a bowl and stuck on a plate... no dressing etc. (Photo attached) It was really greasy and all you could taste was dirty oil. The bottom of the bowl was covered in dark grease.The pie and chicken dishes were both ok... however parts of it were cold (the chips and veg) while the main ingredient was hot which isn’t great but overall were nice enough.The ‘posh’ surf and turf was.... interesting! It costs £20 and in my view hugely overpriced for the quality of food you get.I can honestly say it was the worst prawns and scallops I’ve ever had (complimented by a few bits of the before mentioned greasy calamari). You got 2 prawns (in shell) on top of 2 small scallops... these were so overcooked they were like rubber bullets. Really bad!The piece of steak was however quite nice. I would have preferred the steak with just a few bits of scampi as all 3 ‘posh’ fish elements of the fish was absolutely awful and ruined the meal.

We used Mill Lodge whilst staying at the Premier Inn next door. The staff were very welcoming and accommodating, given that my husband needs to use a mobility scooter to get around. Big shout out to Chloe who ensured we had a cosy, intimate table with enough space to park the scooter. We thought the food was really good too. Would definitely visit again when we're next in the area.

Well mixed review, went to the restaurant as attached to the Premier Inn and staying due to work. Me and a colleague who eats out regularly went for dinner and the food was good and came out in a timely manner.After finishing our meal we were asked if we wanted desserts which we said No and without a second thought our waiter Greg disappeared very quickly and returned with the bill. We were a bit shocked as we had not asked for the bill and was not ready to end our night. I had a voucher code to present but wasn’t asked if I wanted the bill and so had not produced and although I didn’t want a dessert we were having a social drink and so was not ready for the bill and left us feeling a bit awkward.Greg didn’t t come back with a card machine which was probably best as Iuckily we got to speak with another waitress who couldn’t be more helpful, I explained what had happened with Greg and she apologised and quickly set about ensuring our experience was good, our drinks came quickly and I was dealt with kindly thereafter from someone who took a genuine interest in our custom. So a big Thankyou to Jo for restoring our faith in the Beefeater Group. My colleague would normally have looked to take this up with senior management but Jo was so good he felt he didn’t need to take matters further.I would return again but only because of Jo and other staff that were welcoming.

The restaurant was half empty but we waited ages at the "wait here to be seated" sign despite several staff members walking past us. Finally got seated and decided on the Sunday roast. My husband ordered beef and I chose the half roast chicken. Didn't have to wait too long for the meal but mine turned out to be turkey slices not a half roast chicken which we should have been informed was off the menu. The food was ok, my husband enjoyed his beef. We had to remind them to bring the milk for our coffee. Got our bill and went to the till to pay, again stood there waiting while several staff members walked straight past us without any kind of acknowledgement that they were aware we were waiting. Very disappointing experience.

Disappointing visit. We had a long wait for for our main meal & pudding. One meal was completely the wrong order, therefore another long wait. My sister asked for her salad to come without dressing, but alas it did! I have only reviewed as average as when asked the bill was then changed with a discount. Otherwise i would have revised as poor! We wouldn’t go back there.

We thought we would check this place out as we had a 40% discount voucher but never again!! I ordered the mixed grill and upgraded my 4oz rump to the 8oz sirloin for and extra 3.29. After a standard waiting time the food came and looked great! But I cut into the chicken breast to find it was quite undercooked. My meal went back and was cooked fresh but took so long to come back out my partner had finished eating her meal which wasn't without fault. So i tried again with my ammended meal and this time my sausages we pink and under done. The waitress actually took a sausage into the kitchen as she was quite embarrassed and apologetic as expected but i had enough and just made do without them being ammanded. At bill time I was not charged for my meal which I wouldn't have paid for anyway. We also overheard 2 other tables have complaints right near us so In the area we were seated 3 out of the 4 tables had complaints with their meals. Seems like the kitchen staff could benefit from more training or a new chef is required. The only positive for me was the waitress Joanne C who was friendly and professional.

We booked in advance for the festive menu set. There were 7 of us who travelled from far to come and feel welcomed and eat some good food as we thought it looked welcoming. Anyway, we get there and are told at the door that our set menu list of what we ordered and sent back to them in advance was lost and this way they couldn’t serve us food as this was pre ordered festive food and they didn’t have any for us. I even showed them the email I sent them with and the menu attached to it that they provided, and they still refused to give us answers of what would happen next. Anyway he then said go sit down and someone will take the order again for the festive menu that we sent them which apparently they lost. However, The first guy who spoke to us didn’t apologise, then they sat us down and the next waiter who came was not friendly, didn’t even look bothered, didn’t apologise. Just said any drinks and went again, and then came back a few minutes later and said oh we cannot offer you the festive menu because it was not pre ordered and so they didn’t have it in stock to serve, which was annoying because we pre ordered days in advance and even showed them the proof and they still didn’t care. Anyways we were like okay and just thought we’d order out of the normal menu instead, and while we were doing that, the waiter comes back and just says ‘also we don’t have salmon, we don’t have camembert, we don’t have lobsters, we don’t have any soufflé’ but didn’t say anything else or help us at all! So we thought it was ridiculous as they didn’t apologise and left us no choice at all. So we decided to leave and went to eat elsewhere. The service was out of order. 2 people dealt with us and neither were of any help, didn’t apologise, didn’t offer alternative. They were useless. We even asked to talk to manager and they just walked off and started talking to each other and basically blanked us which was so unprofessional. This is so out of order and rude and could have been resolved in a more efficiently and professional way which they refused to do, and we will certainly never return here again. Ruined our Christmas meals and made us use fuel for no reason. It was not worth the drive. An apology would have been nice at least.

Very unfriendly service. Friends have recommended that place so I took my partner there for a birthday meal. Food was horrible. As a starter we have ordered Share platter with additional ribs rack. Food was cold and dry. Looked like it was just quickly microwaved before served. Flat bread was not eatable, tasted like it was out for a long time too. In addition to that we have been overcharged on the bill for a starter. On the top of this our drinks have been served in dirty glasses.

Having booked a family pre Christmas meal for 18 people including 4 young children on Saturday 30th November was very disappointed with the lack of staff, we had to wait a very long time for our orders to be taken due to lack of staff, then had to wait for the orders to arrive with 4 hungry children not good. Doesn’t seem to be any organisation at all and the food not up to standard as previous visits, needs something done about the place before it’s too late.

I was with my wife and 4 friends when visiting Mill Lodge Beefeater Restaurant, Lincoln, on 21 Nov 2019. It was such an enjoyable evening. The service, provided by a gentleman named Paul, was second to none. The food - I, personally, had the turkey from the Christmas festive menu followed by a crumble for dessert - was hot and tasty. It was lovely to meet up with our friends made more enjoyable by the food and the excellent service from Paul. Thanks to him and all concerned.

Great traditional Beefeater, all the food served was first class. Staff were brilliant and dealt with our large group (18) without fuss and a great deal of humour. Nice selection of drinks, one drawback, the ice machine was broken, meaning no ice! Question: why didn’t someone go to the local supermarket and buy a dozen bags (£1 a bag) and put it in the freezer?

Called in twice during our stay at the adjacent Premier Inn. Very helpful and friendly staff, and decent quality pub 'chain' food. Good choice and reasonably priced. Plenty of parking very close to the Bomber Command museum, just opposite. Would visit again.

Went for dinner here, the place was busy but the manager found us a table promptly. We were given menus and the manager recommended a sharing starter as we said we were hungry. We also ordered steaks. The starter was really nice and well presented and arrived in about 15 minutes which surprised us with how busy it was. The steaks promptly followed after finishing the starters. They were cooked to perfection, the manager had recommended that I have my sirloin medium rare and it was delightful. All in all great value and lovely service. We will be back again soon

The staff were pleasant enough, but the snacks we ordered on the Saturday evening were over cooked, greasy and tasteless. Breakfast in the morning...turned over three mugs before a clean one was found, furthermore the cutlery left a lot to be desired. As for the porridge it was obviously microwaved, and not stirred properly before hand, resulting in inedible lumps. Never again!

On arrival the bar was full with dirty glasses literally from one end to the other. We were told there was no reservation booked for us despite having booked the table some 4 weeks prior. A table was found and we placed our orders.After waiting a long long long time the two steaks and two mixed grills arrived they were not just not very warm, they were stone cold. They were taken away and miraculously in 10 minutes replacements were served. There is no way in that time that they cooked us another meal from fresh. The food was extremely poor and steak chewy.Upon visiting the toilets they were discussing. The skirting board and pipes around the toilet were filthy and the toilet itself was discussing. We will never go back.

We visited on a Sunday late afternoon & the place was wrecked with used glasses all over the place & were advised there would be a 30 minute wait for service. As we were on a journey we decided to wait unfortunately. We ordered sirloin steak & mine was full of sinew & gristle. So bad that when we were asked if everything was O.K. had to say no. The meal was replaced with a much better one but my companion had finished his meal before my replacement arrived. The meal cost was refunded but not an ideal situation. On top of all this he toilets were a total shambles. Will cdertainly not risk this venue again.

Visited several times while staying at the Premier Inn. Most of the staff were wonderful, apart from one that was a bit unfriendly, due to us finding our own seat, as we only wanted a drink. She told us not to sit on the comfortable sofa seat as it was booked for a group. My wife and I stayed until closing time and neither of those similar seating areas were used. We both also felt a bit uncomfortable about how sternly she spoke to some of the other members of staff who, based upon our observations, seemed to be very helpful and customer focused and there was no use of 'please' or 'thank you', despite them appearing to work very hard. I have still given a 4 for the overall experience, but this slick team could be even better if a more pleasant atmosphere were to be demonstrated to customers.

On arrival we stood waiting to be acknowledged for about 5 minutes, when someone did come over to ask if we had booked or not he choose to answer the telephone before acknowledging us. The waitress Sophie was very quick to come over and take out order and was very polite and checked back efficiently. At the end of our meal we had to ask 2 members of staff for our bill the first person just walked straight past and choose to ignore us. When we went up to the bar to pay our bill there was 2 girls on the bar while taking our payment they were to intrigued in the own conversation to even wish us a good day. All in all we won’t be returning back in a hurry the staff need serious training in good customer service sills .

We tried the 12oz fillet as a treat and what a treat it was. Steak was cooked perfectly. Really friendly and efficient staff, always looking after us and checking if we needed anything. Great atmosphere. Can’t wait to go back.

Comfortable place to sit and eat. Service was a bit slow but staff were pleasant . The food was tasty and was an adequate portion. The sweets were very moorish and again sufficient. Good presentation of the food and a bit better than the average pub grub places. Not the cheapest place to eat but overall reasonable.

Went for a meal sunday evening at around half five - took a long time to be greeted and despite having booked a table, the table was not ready. Drinks order was taken promptly, as were the food orders. Starters took a long time to arrive, and despite my father having asked for no cheese the chicken goujon starter arrived with the cheese sauce. Mains arrived relatively quickly and we enjoyed the food, hence the two stars.

We were staying at the premier inn for 2 nights. The first breakfast at the beefeater we were served at the table. Portion size for breakfast was small but I imagine if you wanted more you could ask. Yogurt is not served in pots as per other venues we have stayed and my toast was handed to me by small children who had taken over the toaster to play with!

Came here with my family and he while team were very accommodating looking after nanny's food intolerance and making us comfortable with our baby boy. The manager with a Geordie accebt, I think he was called Mike Atter was great, I would come back here again and recommend it for people of all ages the food is fantastic and steaks are cooked to perfection

My husband and I had visited the International Bomber Command Memorial and we left with the intention of finding some lunch. We noticed the Beefeater opposite and decided that it would 'do'. It more than 'did'! We had a delicious meal (I had the Calamari and the Chicken Casesar Salad; husband had the mushrooms and the double cheese bacon burger). Paul, who served us, was friendly, welcoming and entertaining - he had a brilliant sense of humour and nothing was too much trouble. We would definitely go back again next time we are in Lincoln.

Arrived at Mill Lodge stood at desk for table as prebooked bad smell from toilets. Taken to a small table almost with neighbours despite numerous empty tables with some likelihood of talking without being part of next tables conversation. For second recent visit steak smaller that previously and not cooked as ordered. Love Beefeaters but after many visits to this place it appears to be going downhill in a number of ways. Excuse given was staff shortages.

Very evident that it was understaffed from the delays, poor monitoring of the breakfast buffet to ensure that it was complete, no plates, no main parts of the buffet offering for a long delay and undercooked sausages when they did arrive. No potatoes for the manin meal in the evening, despite them being on the menu, though they did offer a very overcooked jacket potatoe that had been around for a long, long time. Disappointing, hopefully due to an unexpected staffing problem that was temporary. If our experience was normal, best avoided

Visited when in the area, sat outside as had my dog with me; ordered steak medium but it was cooked well done; chips were very over cooked, mushroom and tomato were oily. Waitress didn't ask if we needed any condiments, no one came back out to check that the food was okay; not the customer service that is expected in other pubs. Garden area we were in had rubbish all over the grass, it wouldn't take much for staff to litter pick the area once a day to improve the look of the place; whoever does the gardening is a bit of a butcher, plants and bushes had been hacked back and makes the place look tired and uncared for.

Possibly the worst run restaurant ive been to in a very long time, booked a table for a specific time and waited over 15 minutes to been seen when over 3/4 members of staff were “walking around” unsure why you need a specialist member of staff to seat you! Then waited at the bar to order food for ANOTHER 15/20 minutes due to ONE person serving when theres clearly 2 tills which makes 0 sense on a busy night not to use both, this service is shocking and i will not even be booking the premier Inn if this is the restaurant provided, the staff seriously need to be trained on how a restaurant should be run and clearly employ the correct amount of people for the number of guests, shocking,terrible,disgusting behaviour...the list could go on, will never recommend to anyone!!

We had two dinners here. The first time was very poor. Burnt food and had run out of rump steak (strange, thought it was a steak house!). Waitress wasn't particularly helpful. The second time was much better. The waiter was very attentive and it made the evening much more pleasant. Breakfast was OK but they need to order adequate supplies. Not having croissants by 8 am is poor planning.

We got there early about 5. A man who wasnt a server but behaved like a manager without the customer skills. table was in the kindergarten section, or it could have been a theme park. This was the only section being used apparently. The rest of the spacious dining area was temptingly close but not for us.

We had a lovely overnight stay in this great location xx the food was excellent evening meal and delicious breakfast with fabulous service from all the friendly staff … we had a good. Nights sleep in comfy bed etc ….. no complaints at all and would definitely recommend it ….. thank you xx

After a long mornings work from 2am to 1pm I arranged to meet my wife for a chilled drink before heading home. We decided to meet and try out our local pub, The Lincoln Green as we understood it is under new owners and would like to support it.. Sadly on being asked if we were drinking only I was asked if we would go into the bar area. The lady was friendly and I have absolutely no issues with her as this is obviously(in my view) a very misguided policy. I informed her that we would not wish to do that as in the past we have found it cold with wooden floors which when the football is on makes it noisy. I have no issues with this in general as I enjoy watching football and make special trips to do so at pubs for the atmosphere but on this occasion myself and my wife just wanted a quiet, comfortable drink together. I explained this and added that the comfortable restaurant was totally empty. We were offered the chance begrudgingly to sit tucked around the corner as a large table(15 which soon turned to 8) was expected shortly. She declared that on this occasion we could but she had to state she couldn't promise in the future. I told her that we wouldn't waste our time trying in the future. We will just go straight to the CENTURION or HARROWS where we know we can sit in comfort and nice decoration for a quiet drink. Things I don't understand-1) if I was eating I would much prefer some atmosphere with some drinkers as opposed to an empty restaurant. 2) Had it been 11.30 with the possibility of a full restaurant I can understand not wishing to take tables but this was 2pm and totally empty. 3) we were not a noisy group who would be shouting and swearing and could spoil someone's dining experience 4) Surely a pub should be able to cater for diners, sports and football fans AND couples hoping for just a nice drink. Sadly, unless this policy changes we will not be back(unless to watch the football)

I am allergic to Garlic and often struggle to find things to eat in restaurants. The staff here were so friendly, they checked through ingredients and even offered to tweak the menu to make me something. Even though the pub is a Hungry Horse, the staff made it feel like a local, rather than a franchise.
