The best restaurants serving Chinese food in England

Interesting reviews on here and a bit mixed, so I'll base mine on my regular experience only = FANTASTIC! I regularly order the crispy duck and it is the best imho. I have eaten at many restaurants in ChinaTown and this 'for me' is equally as good.. Also usually also go for a House Special in Szechuan Sauce which is great as well. Personally, I've never been disappointed and my go to Chinese.

Rice noodles ordered didn’t get them Always order from them but chef not the same

First time we’ve used Golden Dragon for probably decades, decided to try after getting a menu through the door. Amongst other things we ordered Ribs with BBQ sauce and fried rice and chips & curry sauce from snack menu, the ribs and fried rice were dry NO BBQ sauce, we got a large bag, but a tiny tub of curry sauce, the ratio between chips and sauce was ridiculous, so we basically paid £4.50 for Chips! We also ordered Chicken and pork with Garlic and BBQ sauce from specials menu, this was also DRY with NO SAUCE. In addition to the tiny tub of curry sauce there we were 2 other tiny tubs of sauce (the same sauce in both tubs) but we didn’t know what sauce it was as there were no labels and the flavour was unidentifiable. Beef in the chow mein was a bit sparse and for me was a little on the dry side. Sauce is an integral element of Chinese food and all the food we ordered was DRY which spoiled which would otherwise have been an ok Chinese takeaway.(NB I would have sent my comments the Golden Dragon for their response but there is no email address on their website)

In my opinion the food was not good and also way too expensive. Don't go there!

BE HONEST WITH YOUR DELIVERY TIMES. Ordered for delivery on the previous two occasions. The food was fantastic and delivered in the time stated within 45mins to an hour and on a Saturday. After a busy day I placed an order on Tuesday at 5pm to be told 45mins to an hour. This didn't happen and after an hour and a half I cancelled the order. The upside of this is that I've discovered the joys of Extra Mature Marmite on toast. Swings and roundabouts. As with any takeaway that lets you down there will not be another order for food which is a shame as they would have had a regular customer.

Chicken chow mein was tasteless.

To be fair they use to be good but my meal on Sunday was so bad that’s why I’m writing this review the chicken was like it was left over from Saturday the duck was not moist it was wet never have I had duck before me like this and the meal was over £50 everything I ordered was terrible and I’m not really that fussy there’s my point needless to say that was my last order from them

a perfect example of not to judge a book by its cover, despite how the shop looks i’ve had nothing but good experiences there. kind staff and good quality food for the price. been there a few times and have done a pick up order on uber eats and they gave me free prawn crackers. great shop no idea why it’s getting such poor reviews

This has to be the absolute worst chinese in Eastbourne. We ordered a takeaway over £70 and it was bland and absolutely full of salt and sugar.

Food tag found in food!!! Approached them with photo etc and was issued a £5.60 refund for that dish with no apology. Unacceptable!

Avoid! Went in friday night and tried not to judge on the decor, that had condensation running down the walls etc. The place looked really grubby and the tables were sticky - we should have left immediately We gave the food ago, to find most was cold and chewy. Things like the curry had a delightful skin on the top from being left for so long and there were also multiple containers empty. There were alot of take away drivers in and out, so can only assume the restaurant focus on their orders, rather than adhering to basic food hygiene regulations. We left quite quickly, but it didn't prevent tummy cramps for the evening. I can't help thinking food poisoning would be a genuine possibility if you really did eat all you can. Improper food storage, inadequate temperature checks and poor hygiene, this place should really be rechecked by the EHO
