We ordered a evening meal here of Chicken chow mein and spring rolls , sweet and sour chicken balls and egg fried rice Everything was freshly cooked in front of us while we waited, friendly staff and all whistling while they worked such a joy We will be back to order more Only tiny tiny bit such wasn’t so brill was the egg fried rice was very dry with lack of egg in it but the chow mein is delicious and chicken balls yum !

Haven’t had a Chinese in a while and wish we hadn’t bothered. The prawn crackers tasted about four days old, sweet and sour chicken balls were chewy and dry. Overall pretty crap! Time to find a new Chinese

Had food delivered before which was OK, but the food this time went in the bin absolutely horrendous, curry was a terrible pale colour no taste, chicken was slimy,special rice was just nothing like the order we received the first time, horrible orange colour and no taste, either they have replaced their chef or they were having an off day, we will not be using them again and I suggest you go else where. £30 in the bin,has put us off ordering take out ever again ..you have been warned

Delivery was good but the food (Hong-Kong sweet and sour and egg fried rice)more than half of it had to go in the bin the rice was dry bottom of bird cage came to mind and the rest was hard lumps knife would not go through so no chance of eating it the sauce so very sweet and glue like never again

Just found this decent Chinese takeaway by chance. We are really enjoying our food right now. They are tasty and hot. Wonderful people as well. We hope you have a great business. Thank you.

Waited over a hour for the food to come. Boxes came half full, food was awful full of MSG and inedible, phoned and spoke to the receptionist who asked us to send it back for the chef to taste. They resent a new one and the driver abused us saying considering it was so bad we had eaten a lot!! Not even worth one star.

I used this takeout for the first time. Food arrived earlier than mentioned, which was great, but the food I ordered was overly sweet and sickly. ☹️

Change of ownership since last visit, and truth to say will never visit this place again. Food was absolutely disgusting dry special fried rice, with the rice looking like something from the bottom of a bird cage, spare ribs were disgusting DONT USE THIS PLACE

Chicken is just the best of any Chicken on or near takeaway alley yeovil. Minimum card payment is annoying, because I'm a poor person lol! Top stars because the chicken is so good.

Ordered and paid for the meal online through their own website. Got a call to say the amounts paid were wrong so we would have to pay double. Woman on phone said it was our fault as website clearly wrong and we should have known. No refund offered despite only getting half of what we had paid for. Food pretty average. Will not be going back.

Told it woud be 1 hour , still waiting after 1 and 1/2 hours and still not arrived. I Rang and was told very busy and too busy can't tell me when it will arrive. What a shower of poo will not be ordering again !!!!

Sadly have used these guys for years - unfortunately I ate a couple of mouthful of the ribs that looked awful. And yep hospital food poisoning tests and antibiotics. Sadly will just not only not use them I’m never going to have another takeaway..lesson if the food looks awful don’t touch it..!!!!!

Food was ok but delivery was dreadful. We paid £6 for delivery on our order placed at 5.30 on Friday evening to be delivered at 8pm. 5 miles away.The food arrived at 8.40. I had rung twice by then and been told it was on it's way which was untrue as the driver said he had only had it for 15 minutes. My advice is collect it yourself and don't rely on them to deliver it when you said you wanted it.

Love this place, never a bad meal. Love the meal deals and usually go for beef curry or chicken curry and drink.. only quarm is that most times I've ordered the can of pop has been out of date :/ Hense me only giving 4/5 stars

Oh my goodness me! It's been a long, long time since we last used this place for takeaway... and we only stopped here as a last minute option for a late dinner. Well, it was like being thrown back to the eighties- We had a set dinner C for two people, which fed four adults and there was plenty left over. The old time favourite of Duck with pancake was just the best and so was the sweet & sour chicken. Just amazing! Will make this our regular takeaway going forward. Very happy McCoys tonight! 😉👍

I made the mistake of ordering from Mandarin again. The food was so bad had to throw half of it away. Deep fat fried garbage. Do not order from here I was really unwell for 24 hours after eating from here. The food hygiene rating says it all!

This place has gone down the drain. We always used to order here, but now the experience is bordering on scary. The drain is the only place for the food to go as well. Both my partner and I have not been well after ordering from here. Chicken sate was slimy and tasted off. The hot and sour soup tasted and looked like vomit. I can’t even be bothered to list the rest, we ended up chucking it in the bin. Never again!

Have tried many Chineses in Yeovil. None of them beat The Mandarin for food quality and delivery times. Absolutely delicious.

This was the best Chinese in Yeovil for a long time, but we’ve stopped ordering from them after the food went completely downhill, chicken is too rubbery and the beef way too chewy to the point of not being able to eat it, and we would have to wait too long for food to be delivered, like 2 hours on occasions, definitely won’t go here again as we’ve now discovered a new place in town that beats Mandarin hands down, better quality, very quick service, and very consistent with your orders, you can definitely tell that they actually take pride in your order!

Normally I could never fault mandarin and it's always been our go to chinese but the last couple visits have been poor. The price has gone up and quality has gone down. My most recent order was smoked chicken and plain chow main and the chicken arrived overcooked and black. Not sure I will order from there again

The saltiest Chinese ever and high prices! Friendly staff but would not return. The egg fried rice was yellow and didn't look Iike any I'd eaten before! The chicken was hard and Lumpy. Would not advise eating here!

This is going to be a really odd complaint in the eyes of some. However I must complain regardless. I ordered my food at 18:19 it arrived to my absolute surprise exactly 10 minutes later. It arrived cold, inedible… how they think they can cook food and deliver a 6 minute drive away in 10 minutes is beyond me. It’s as though I was delivered a microwave meal that needed cooking. Wont be going there again.

Food took 2 hours and ten minutes to come. Clearly should not of been accepting orders. Food also bang average. Could of done the weekly shop and cooked a roast in that time.

Still waiting for my order, it will apparently be 50 mins late on top of the 40 mins I gave when ordering. Only for 2 people. A Diabetic having to wait an hour and a half for a take away. Shocking really.

Ordered food via their website at 5;45pm, website allowed tracking & after 40 mins info was blank & event after 2 calls & being advised 5-10 mins still no food at 7:15pm! Shocking order:delivery service - if you cant deliver be honest not just standard reply or my screen has frozen. We have spent over £40 and after 1 & 1/2 hours still no food!

Ordered two hours ago and was told it would be 40 mins.. rang after one hour and was told it would be twenty mins. Rang after one hour and fifty mins and was told it’s now just cooking…. So was lied to previously. When I was told it was cooking I was told it would be with me in 12 mins. Well that’s another lie as it’s only cooking and I live fifteen mins from the restaurant. Now 130 minutes since I ordered and still waiting. And this is the second time this has happened. First time was May 2021 and they gave me a free meal as compensation. That will not work on the second time. The excuse I’m given is “it’s busy due to Halloween”. Mmmm. Maybe they are trick or treating? Selling fancy dress costumes? Mmm. I think not. Just unorganised and incompetent.

Over 3 hours since ordering, still no food and completely unable to contact the restaurant, said it was delivered an hour ago but most definitely was not.

Very very frustrating because the food is always lovely but never on time usually over 2 hours late and then line busy when you try and ring. This time just had a notification to say its on its way hour later and I'm still waiting. Absolute joke

Question: have you ever, on the spur of the moment, decided to stay over at someone's house... without a change of socks? When you finally get home and take off your shoes, the aroma that greets you is not disgusting... but it is certainly not pleasant. Tonight, my aromatic duck from Mandarin had the aroma of two-day-old socks... the irony is that it took almost two days for the duck to arrive.

Great place, delicious food, lovely service with a smile and done in 5 mins. I ordered exactly the combination I wanted, mixed veg in garlic sauce with extra tofu. So rare to be able to do this in Asian take aways. All fresh food cooked in front of you, and crunchy veg, yum!

We ordered our food at 7.20pm and it turned up at 9pm. Won't be using Mandarin again !

What can I say after three years or more ordering from mandarin, We have never had any problems until tonight, the person that took the call was rude, they said it would be delivered in around half an hour and then hung up the phone very abruptly. I rang them after 45 minutes to see where the food was and if it was on the way, he told me that the delivery driver would be with me in 30 seconds and once again abruptly hung up the phone again before I had finished speaking. 10 minutes later, still no delivery so we rang them again and and asked for him not to hang up until we had finished speaking. We explained that we have been ordering from you for many years and have never had a problem. The young lady that we usually speak to knows exactly who we are and exactly what we usually order and is always very helpful and polite. This person told us that he was the owner of the restaurant and apparently we have been speaking to him for years. NOT. this guy was absolutely vile and had no phone manner at all. After speaking to the delivery driver we were told that it wouldn’t of been the owner that we were talking too. Mandarin have now lost a very loyal customer and will probably loose many more with this guy being the first point of contact. We used to order around twice a week but after being spoken too like this by this Obnoxious person we will never order from them again. Good luck Manderin, I’m sure you will eventually loose all your customers after they speak to this disgusting person you have working your phone orders.

I ordered here at 18.51 and it is now 21.03,phone doesn't even ring,I'm just hoping it turns up,has said it will be within 20 minutes about 3 or 4 different times

Really angry. Ordered food before 7pm and given 7.40 - 8.00 as delivery time. It was so late I ended up having to heat up something out of the freezer. It finally arrived after 9pm!! Really really not good enough!

Always loved Mandarin house, been going there for many years but have to think seriously about if we will go again. Ordered our usual, Chicken curry, fried rice and 2 small Pancake rolls, price came in at a hefty £14 something. Quality of the food was excellent except they have changed the Curry, the sauce was virtually non existent , really should have ordered a Curry sauce to add to it, never in my life have I seen a Curry with less moisture !

Always order from here normally it's lovely but last nights dinner was poor could have made itself better disappointed and put off now if I'm honest

In my opinion this has to be my favourite Chinese restaurant of all time, the food is amazing and the staff are so, so lovely. I definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a go to Chinese restaurant!!

I would like to review the food but it never showed up. Turns out they never even knocked on my door and then they tried to charge me an extra pound for re delivery. Decided to order from somewhere else when I heard a woman shouting at me over the lady who was trying to explain the situation on the phone. Think I'd rather just have a pot noodle than order from here.

Ordered with Just Eat on Saturday at 6PM.Food arrived at 9.20pm. Kept being told it was on it's way by Just Eat. Finally at 9PM I phoned the Manderin myself and was told my order was just being packed up and they apologised. Just eat asked if I wanted a refund, I said yes and received £1.00 Generally though the food is good arrives hot and very tasty when I order myself.

Ordered 17.45 it's now 19.53 still not arrived we called to see what has happened with no apoligy they said they will get it to us in half an hour which has passed by tried to phone multiple times but its saying the line is busy and has been for the last hour so by the sounds of it they have turned the phones off my advice don't bother I don't even know if I can get a refund and I can't even contact them as for the place don't take orders if you can't do them stop messing people about!

Completely disgusted with the treatment of people who order online. I ordered over 2 1/2 hours ago and am still awaiting my food. Phoned the restaurant half an hour ago and was told 10 minutes! Sorry guys will be going elsewhere after this! You don’t even answer your phone when i call!!

Absolutely disgusting, such a shame. The chips were stale as were the prawn crackers. The chicken balls were burnt!! Everything tasted like it was just stuck in the microwave. After a phone conversation with the owner, he was very rude....I don’t recommend this restaurant.

Very very rude Use Chois Kitchen Much better Service, quicker service, friendlier staff and much better quality food. Had multiple issues with this business with rudeness Update. One of my relatives is a Vegan And her partner is strictly allergic to Fish. Their Vegetarian Dish tasted very fishy and caused him to be rushed to A&E due to a severe Reaction. If this business can't adhere to Simple dietary requirements when it is mentioned directly to them. And a dish labelled Vegan or Vegetarian, containing fish. They should not be operating Will be suing this establishment under the food hygiene and food allergen law. Also have allerted EHO, TRADING STANDARDS and a Solicitor Watch this space. You AWFUL AWFUL Takeaway. AVOID.

Phoned the Mandarin at 5.30 this evening in the hope they could cater for a family birthday gathering of 11 people last minute. Gave them a very brief guide as to what needed to be included and let them decide the rest. WOW what can I say, they didn't let me down!! The best variety, we could wish for!! Fresh, quality ingredients, tasty and filling. And on the table in the garden sunshine in just over an hour on a Saturday. Thanks guys you are the best in town by a mile!!!

Have been waiting for my order to be delivered for almost 2 hours now...orders at 18:55 it now 20:48...called the restaurant and all I got is “sorry and will put something free to your order”...unacceptable and will make sure to get a refund

Tonight I ordered something from them Mandarin in Yeovil and I was overcharged by £3 I called the manager and said about it he said there was a computer fault I said well why is it in your favour.He was very rude and did not offer me any complementary items to do the factory over charge me. just said do you want the the order or no.I decided to cancel it because I didn't like his attitude was very rude and abrupt not what should happen when he had made a major mistake I would not recommend this Chinese.

28 years in Yeovil and I've just enjoyed the best Chinese curry yet and quick and polite delivery.

Avoid. As many others have said, the restaurant says a delivery time, but delivers substantially later. No effort made on their part to sort it out. Over two hours taken. Can't comment on the quality of the food, as so hungry anything is welcome.

We had a delivery from here at a extra cost of £5 the food was very good, it arrived late but this was a booking fault of mine as the web site couldn’t find my address so I ordered using the post code of the restaurant & put a note on it to deliver to my home address this ment I paid £1 on top of the 5.Will order again as it was a weekend treat.

Literally the best crispy chilli beef I’ve ever tried. The veg was so fresh, perfect amount of spice too. Special chow mein had loads of meat in it too. Will definitely be my go to for Chinese food in the future

AVOID! Ordered food at 18.30. Told it would be delivered at 1945. We accepted this because they we thought they may be busy due to the lockdown. By 20.00 it still hadn't arrived. We tried calling but the phone was off the hook! Drove down to the takeaway at 20.30 to find THEY STILL HADN'T COOKED THE ORDER! server refused to do anything about it! V poor service and attitude. When the food was then cooked we found that two of the dishes a Beef curry and a Fried rice had been thrown together in the same container, even though we had been charged seperately AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

We Ordered 2 weeks ago food was mediocre but after the long wait we were just glad to receive food. Now I understand the current crisis and have no problem waiting and some times things are missed but after the way I was treated whilst trying to order again tonight and being hung up on for apparently taking to long! When it was him that was not understanding what I was explaining ref our last meal that they promised to substitute next time. So 2 weeks ago We recieved burnt to a crisp bullets ( crispy fried won tons) for £4.90 I phoned straight away & asked to be refunded for them as inedible. They Told me they don't have facilities to do that and next time they would give us the won tons again + a free dish of our choice for the trouble. Phoned this evening to order & explain our last phone call. By then he had already told me to hurry up and continued to tell me to hurry up madam or go online. I told him big foodie was not working as it says they are closed! He tells me it's my card. We always order and minimum order has always been £16 + £6 delivery on top but now he says it £20 tonight as they are busy and we havent quite made £20 But with the food he was meant to be giving us made it well over £20 anyway. HE HUNG UP. I found them on just eat now this works and says open I order with a note ref phone call & madarin decline my order. Dont waste your time we certainly wont be coming back!!

Ordered food for a 7:30 delivery. Still not been delivered at 8:40. Never using this place again. Awful.

I placed an order at 6pm this evening through JustEat. Delivery time said 8pm. It is now 9.45pm, its saying my food is delivered on Just Eat, however it hasn't been delivered. I've tried calling the restaurant to find out where my order is, but its constantly engaged. This is terrible customer service, I'm not happy about it and will not be using them again.

We ordered a takeaway at 6pm. Told it would be 60 to 75 mins when we ordered. It is now 10pm and we still have no food. Range at half 8 and told our food was just being cooked. Now we cannot contact them at all. Disgraceful. Also we have been charged for this food but cannot cancel the order because no one will answer us

The food was really good except for the tie fish cakes tasted like rubber. The rest of the order was good. But was an hour late strange times, but could be better.

Food is pretty good but the customer service is shocking I missed an order although but gave an alternate number for delivery. I paid nearly £26 pound. Food turned up and the driver ran a different number from what I gave, I ring back the day after when I jab e my phone back to be absused over the phone by whoever takes the ordered saying I’m I. The wrong and they have no record. I stayed twice the delivery was to the same address but under a different number. Overall the customer service is absolutely shocking and I would t recommend getting food from this place unless you collecting or in house absolutely do not ask for delivery. It’s £5 extra and in my case I paid £26 and got no food what so ever. Really let my whole night down, again I will say I asked for delivery under a different number and stated that twice after it had been paid. The guy and woman on the phone was very very very rude to me and it wasn’t called for, when they hung up on me I tried to ring back for me to experience them cancelling my calls and hanig up on me. As I say the food isn’t bad, pretty good but the way I was treated over the phone and not recognised anything that I have paid for is shocking. If u want a chinese don’t get one from here!! Rbh it’s out me off getting take out the way I was spoken to as a customer. Absolutely shocking!

Placed order at 18.55 via just eat and was told there would be a delivery time of 19.45 which I was happy to accept due to how far we lived from the restaurant, however at 19.30 I received a text stating that my order had been delayed and the delivery time according to the just eat app was 20.05 again I was sympathetic to this as I appreciate during busy times things get delayed but at 20.05 when the order should have been delivered I received another message stating that the order was delayed yet again and now the delivery time was 20.46. Luckily just before half 8 my delivery arrived at which point the driver told me he had to collect an extra £1 as the delivery charge was wrong, (the restaurant did call and explain this just after the order was placed) but when I double checked it clearly said that the delivery charge was £5. The driver could not get away from the front door quick enough not even giving me chance to question why there was such a delay. Despite this we now had our food which arrived hot my wife and I dished up what we had and sat down to eat only for half way through eating my wife found a long blonde hair (she is a brunette) which really put her off her food and could not eat anymore. Over all very disappointed with our experience and is unlikley to order from there again.

After years of getting takeaway I’m sorry to say the majority of the food ordered was inedible due to being over cooked, drowned in oil and with the sweet and sour sauce tasting worse than Asda’s smartprice. Will NOT use again. DO NOT RECOMMEND. Horrendous. Their reply was the same meal free instead of a refund. Save your money.

LEARN HOW TO DO REFUNDS!! Absolute worst service I have received in a very long time from anywhere! I had only ordered a main starter and drink for one person and they had sent me the wrong starter. I called up politely explaining the situation hoping they would send me my starter that I ordered or refund me it however they offered to give me a free starter on my next order instead. I refused this as I order takeaways very rarely these daysand I would not have eaten the starter they sent as it's something I don't like, I would have been losing out on a big chunk paid for in my order. The lady then told me she doesnt know how to do refunds and that they don't have a delivery driver available. I asked her could she please find out how to refund as that should be something they can do. She got extrenely rude to me saying well Ill send the spring rolls but I have to give the chicken balls back as I said I wouldn't eat them anyway and then went on to say that the spring rolls were definitely in there. I was gobsmacked and I must say I suffer terrible anxiety and I was shaking so much at this point. The spring rolls turned up 20 mins later. I showed the driver the chicken balls and asked him to confirm what they were then I asked to throw them in the bin next to my door as the restaurant should not be asking for food back. He insisted that the woman had the chicken balls back so I gobbed in them and gave them back as they must go straight in the bin. It was a big load of hassle for a mistake they made and then resolved perfectly fine after telling me there was no driver available and it seemed so pointless that I must give back the food when they offered me something for free next time anyway. In the end the food was ok but heaven forbid you call up wanting to resolve a mistake they made. You sent me through an anxiety attack that put me straight off my food, you will never receive my custom again.

Ordered meals tonight totally inedible. Phone to complained was told restaurant was suffering under pressure due to the chef walking out. But still charged me full price for my food. Would not give a refund unless I drove back to the restaurant over 25 miles because did not know how to refund on my card. Will never use this restaurant again.
