Been using Maxim's for a while now and I think that they are the best in our area. Tasty food every time. Well done Maxim's.

Been a regular for a long time but recently gone very downhill, out of the last 5 curry's only 1 of them was actually hot , the others were either cold or barely warm..

Cash only, good portion sizes and well priced

In and out..service fine..food OK but not ordering the soft noodles anymore as there not that good but rest was fine

Ordered a meal weds night, it's came in 20 mins piping hot!!! Special noodles were amazing, my husband had special curry with fried rice, salt and pepper chips, prawn crackers. Will be ordering again

I'm impressed by how Stamford House Chinese-York, United Kingdom, handled my previous negative experience. After my disappointing first visit, I decided to give them another chance based on their sincere apology and commitment to improve. I'm glad I did! Despite my review, I wrote the company directly expressing my disappointing service received, and the truth is that I least expected that the management would care or even bother to respond to my complaint but I was surprised to receive an email the next business day expressing their desire to recover the service. This was least expected, and as a result, it got my attention and respect for the management's interest in ensuring that every customer who walked in was satisfied with the service received, as well as their interest in the customer experience. As a customer experience professional, this one act was impressive! So, I chose to give the company another opportunity to recover the service and impress me by using part of the voucher that was offered to order their ‘Roast Duck with Black Peppercorn Sauce.' From the moment I walked in, it was clear they had taken my feedback seriously. The hostess greeted me warmly and seemed genuinely happy to see me return. The server was attentive and knowledgeable about the menu, offering great recommendations. The sauce quality was much better and at least met the expectations compared to my first visit. The sauce was flavourful and had the perfect balance of spice and tenderness. Stamford House Chinese has completely turned around my opinion. They've shown that they truly value customer feedback and are willing to put in the work to make things right. This level of service recovery is commendable, and I'm now looking forward to becoming a regular customer. If you had a less-than-stellar experience here before, I'd encourage you to give them another shot—you might be pleasantly surprised like I was!

Awful soggy prawn crackers, chicken chow mein. Had a cupful of water in it no sauce. It was steamed not fried,crispy beef wasn’t crispy and swimming in an unknown flavoured sauce, and the Singapore chow mein. Was the worst it was dry and tasted of burned oil. Won’t be driving there again.

Ordered food after reading some good reviews !!! Used to get food from here 20 years ago and was good back then ! Sadly the food we ordered was horrible and took 1.20 mins to arrive !! Prawn toast totally burnt and cold , Singapore fried rice awful , Special curry was gloopy and had burnt onions in it , and could taste curry powder, lastly salt and pepper chips were warm ups and totally overcooked !!! My honest opinion is avoid it and if you live in Handsworth use the rainbow or golden house 🧧🥡🥢

In my opinion the best Chinese in barnsley. The Thai curry I'd amazing. The delivery time has always been great. Food comes hot and there's plenty of it

Asked for no veg in special chow mein as they full it with just veg, and done same again filled with veg, one piece of pork, 2 pieces of chicken and a prawn… when I rang up to say we asked for no veg owner makes out that your wrong when I wrote it down and personally went in the shop n showed my order!! Scammers, also spent £40 n no prawn crackers or anything free!

Came here for a birthday bottomless brunch and couldn’t have had a better experience! Would love to say a massive thank you to Simon for supplying our bottomless brunch (best one in Leeds 100%!!)

We had an amazing family time - eating, drinking, and laughing. Great ambience, nice location and lovely setting. The menu was mouth-watering, but you can only eat as much as you can at the end of the day. I really liked the experience.

We were staying at the White Swan hotel in Pickering for a few days. Having had dinner there on our first night, we decided to eat elsewhere on the next. We were passing the Fortune Inn when a couple emerged after their meal. We asked how they enjoyed the food. They were very pleased by their experience. On their recommendation, we decided to eat there. We had no regrets. The food was excellently cooked and served very quickly by friendly staff. The other customers seemed equally pleased by their experience. We were so happy that we returned the following evening! As previously, everything was excellent. When we are next in Pickering, where shall we eat? What do you think?
