In and out..service fine..food OK but not ordering the soft noodles anymore as there not that good but rest was fine

Tonight was the first time I’ve been to Double Dragon in a while but I can honestly say it’s by far the best in Castleford. I had chicken in black bean sauce with fried rice and the sauce was nice and thick consistency and the taste was amazing! Highly recommend

Went to pick up a takeaway, never again, the floor was absolutely filthy, the cabinet where the drinks were kept, you couldn't see through the glass as it was filthy, the girl behind the counter never spoke, she looked as she had a school uniform on! When the food was ready she just put it in front of me, I asked her where the prawn crackers were she still didn't say anything just slung the bag on the counter....no please or thank you... Perhaps a call to the environmental health would be in order...

Bit hit and miss at minute, on this visit it was a miss, but I was craving something different, this visit was family members choice

I recently ordered from this Chinese takeaway and had the pleasure of trying their gravy sauce - you won't be disappointed!

Advised delivery would be 50 mins to an hour. It arrived almost an hour late. Chicken was rubbery but wife enjoyed her beef chow mien

Ordered from here a couple days ago food smelt and looked lovely but whilst I was eating my chicken chow mein I realised the chicken was raw inside.

Great takeout. The staff was very helpful when placing the order, and the delivery came within 35 minutes. The food itself was very tasty, not at all greasy. Prices are reasonable too. Would buy again and recommend to everyone.

Order from here regularly and have always been pleased with the food portions. Not gloopy or salty sauces and really tasty dishes. The meat/fish in the dishes is always good quality and plentiful. Keep it up.

First time visiting this Chinese and wow food was amazing we had special chow main,special curry, ribs,pancake rolls,food was to a high standard and very tasty definitely will be going again.

Alot longer than usual, good food but a 20 min wait took 45 mins abit long for takeaway.

I ordered from here for the 1st time last week and am happy to say the food was delicious! Thankfully they have a variety of vegetarian mains so I tried the Tofu in green peppers and black bean sauce with rice, a little extra sauce would have made it perfect but the flavours were spot on so I'll def' be back. Oh and must mention these were the lowest prices around! Just £6.80 for the below, yum.

I’ve been using this establishment for 20+ years and never been disappointed. Others Chinese/Cantonese come and go and I have to try them but eventually return to double dragon. The management and cooking changed from parents to children in last few years and I am please to say the quality is still as good

I have given Double Dragon three stars, if this was two years ago when Sue and her husband were running the show its would have been 5 stars all day long. The quality has slide as has the portion sizes. This comes from someone who placed an order twice a month as it being only 5 doors away.

Had Chinese today worst one I had don't know what it was but it was like boiled pork horrid won't go again

Collected our food, drove home to Pontefract The curry sauce was like cement. The noodles were dry as a bone. The salt & pepper chicken was that dry it was actually grey in colour. We spent £30 on the food - I rang to tell them we were unhappy and the lady came out with “what do you want me to do I am busy now” so I told her that an apology would be nice. Cannot believe how rude she was. I wouldn’t give the food to an animal.

Best Chinese around here. The barbecue ribs are the best I have ever tasted.

Special fried rice is amazing, as is the sweet and sour chicken. I wouldn't go anywhere else. We have been ordering for the last 20 years and have tried lots of other Chinese takeaway but tjis is the best and sue the owner is lovely

Been going to this shop regular over the years the food is class from spare ribs to set meals and the prices are reasonable too I reccomend this shop to new customers.

The best Chinese food for miles. We won't go anywhere else so drive 20mins to collect from here. I don't think the kids realise you can buy Chinese food anywhere else..

The food is always top notch, whether you have a tray of noodles or the set meals. You will always find the service and quality of food go hand in glove. The salt and pepper spare ribs are to die for ( always ask for plenty of gubbins in these).

We always used to enjoy Chinese meals from here but then we had a few bad ones and switched loyalty. Tried it again last week and it was okay. I don’t think it’s as tasty as our regular but the phone was none stop and our food was okay. I wouldn’t travel miles to buy from here but you can do much worse if you’re passing by. The lady who does the front of house is lovely as well. If carlsberg did Chinese food it would probably be better than the Double Dragon. It doesn’t so this is ok,

Excellent food always consistent

A busy takeaway. My order was correct and very nice but lots of calls about wrong order or delayed order while I was there. If you can be patient the food was nice!

“WORST CHINESE TAKEAWAY EVER VISITED.” As my regular chinese was closed tonight I decided to look on trip advisor for an alternative and after discovering Double dragon cantonese was the third best chinese reveiwed on trip advisor in castleford I thought id give it a go. Upon calling I was told they no longer deliver so i placed an order to collect which didn't bother me in the slightest. The wontons were very dark in colour and very greasy, I would take a guess the oil used is old and hasnt been replaced. The salt and pepper chicken and chips had no salt what so ever and sprinkled black pepper not chilli peppers as 99% of restaurants use and they also had lots of spring onions which i thought was strange as they did resemble chopped chilli peppers but they were not. These we're edible but not enjoyable and again tasted of old chip pan oil. Finally the duck in orange sauce looked okay at first so i grabbed a piece and wolfed it down not realising something was seriously wrong with this dish. Without going into gory details i was sick and either the duck or the sauce had gone off! I was completely mortified and rang them straight away. When returning for the refund i took the lid off the duck dish and asked the owner to smell it which she did and agreed it was off, but claimed it was the orange sauce but i think it was the duck. I have eaten many of chinese dishes across the uk when working away and this tops the worst ever takeaway I have had and it's debatable if this chinese should even be allowed to serve food as clearly health and safety hadn't been followed. Lived in castleford all my life so not a snob but i plead with you not to visit this place unless you want to get ill. Highlight of this rating was getting a no quibble refund!

Just had a mixed grill from here and it was really good,i was only waiting 10 minutes and when i got home to eat it the food was hot and tasty and there was lots of meat,the onion rings i ordered were also very good.

Pleae, if you're going to go anyway, it's cash only, that might prevent it being clap cold and may make this more edible, but I doubt it. There is plenty of food for the money but most of it was just wasted. Won't go back and wouldn't recommend to anyone I liked!

Utterly vile. This is by far the worst Chinese food... No wait... The worst food altogether I have eaten in a long time. I made the mistake of not looking at the food hygiene rating before ordering... Which is a 2 by the way, so who knows, maybe I was eating bits of rats and cockroaches. I suspect I will be frequenting the little boys room on multiple occasions over the next few days. If you decide to visit here then all I can say is good luck!

My family use this Chinese and Cantonese takeaway all the time as in our opinion it is the best of its kind in the area. I would recommend the mixed grill as the portions of meat you get are huge.the onion rings are also wonderful and huge.

Myself and my family use this Chinese takeaway a lot. My personal favourite is special curry purely because the curry is nice but also has a little kick of heat. Sue, the lady behind the counter, is really nice and always greets you with a friendly smile. If there's anything not on the big menu which you want, just ask her and she will make you whatever you want if she has the ingredients. I often request salt and pepper chips! Chips and gravy in a tray is heavenly by the way!!

we have been here a few times now, food i would class as ok and price is low, its a bit like a fast food place and is ok when you are on a budget, i suppose you get what you pay for. i would recommend it for lunch and dinner after the cinema if you dont want to pay the earth for a Chinese meal.

My daughter recommended the Double Dragon takeaway. We tried it last night and it is certainly worthy of the great reviews. We had mixed vegetables and cashew nuts with noodles, a vegetarian dish. It was piping hot, very tasty and extremely good value.

By far the best Chinese in Pontefract and Castleford. They don't deliver, but it's worth the drive. The bbq spare ribs are lovely. We stopped eating Chinese food as we couldn't find a nice one anywhere. So glad we found this.

This is probably the best chinese takeaway in Castleford.I usually have the mixed grill and you get lots of great tasting meat and the onion rings that you can by are gorgeous.Only chinese takeaway i will use in Castleford,just a shame they don't deliver.

Called here for a meal for myself as a takeaway for supper after a late night at work I think their curry is nice and strong without being too hot I always enjoy their meals Even after driving home the food is still hot and fresh It's one of the top Chinese take away restaurants I used to go there regularly before the other restaurants offered me a wider choice in the xscape but it's still a lovely fresh authentic curryMy mouth waters when I think about the meal

First meal from the Double Dragon, and I will be back. I'm travelling further and further to find a good chinese and this one is above average for the area and I will be back at some point to sample more dishes.On this visit I went for the set menu for 3. £21 and very good value. Enough for two dinners! 3x chicken and sweetcorn soup (very large), ribs, prawn crackers, 3x house special fried rice, 3x main dishes of own choice.The house rice was excellent. Really good flavour, could have eaten this on its own as my complete meal! Ribs were very good too. Sweet and sour chicken was great, good tender chicken. Beef in black bean also very nice (could have been a little spicier), and satay chicken ok.Very friendly staff.

Just read anonymous review of this take away and they said everything amazing wel its not they burnt our orders and I complained and was told they wouldnt do it again guess what they did not goong back
