Shun Hing in Selby

Awful soggy prawn crackers, chicken chow mein. Had a cupful of water in it no sauce. It was steamed not fried,crispy beef wasn’t crispy and swimming in an unknown flavoured sauce, and the Singapore chow mein. Was the worst it was dry and tasted of burned oil. Won’t be driving there again.

Totally poor never get from them missed half my order and still charged me full poor very poor

absolutely amazing food, the quality of food is so much better , they are happy to adapt a dish for you, (I get beef n black pepper with mushrooms instead of green pepper, ) , never had a bad meal from here, or bad service , 100% recommend！

Since when did VEG spring rolls have prawns in? I'm allergic to prawns & it looked like they were cooked a week ago. Everything was swimming in grease and tasteless! 😔

The food had no taste the chips must of been there from the day before chicken was like rubber rice was hard the only thing was half nice was the omelet and it was not nice I will not go there anymore 0 out of 10

Sadly the most tasteless Chinese meal I've ever had. Pleasant friendly staff but oily and tasteless food. I'd hoped to treat the family but instead felt embarrassed having tasted it. Odd how reviews here are split between great and grim - are there two chefs ? I won't return. Sorry :(

Very poor. Spring rolls oily and weirdly put together. The chow mein was bizarrely unseasoned and pale, the crispy chilli beef was the only thing that was any good. No idea how this place was so busy.

The food here is absolutely lovely, we've never had a bad meal yet! We will certainly return again soon.

Always get my Chinese food from here and have done for few year now , never let me down and foods always been spot on , can’t understand people’s bad reviews, maybe it’s not the food just them in a bad mood , who knows 😳

Not sure what the bad reviews are all about we had a brilliant takeaway meal! Couldn't fault anything all well cooked and generous portions.

I ordered chicken sweetcorn soup S and p chips Chicken in blackbean sauce This was to date the worst chinese experience ive had. Soup tastes like warm water. Chicken had bits in nearly chipped a tooth. Flavour was well below average. I could cook a better meal at home.

I am over 65 so I’ve eaten many Chinese takeaways. I can honestly say this was the most tasteless I’ve ever had. I ordered a Kung Po and it had virtually no sauce and tasted of absolutely nothing. Maybe the chef forgot to add the necessary ingredients. Who knows. It was terrible and I certainly won’t be returning.

Good food for the price, kitchen looks extremely clean as you can see straight into it when you go into order/ collect. Food has never disappointed, but add more pineapple to the sweet and sour& less onions! As I’ve noticed I only get 1/2 peices of pineapple in each dish.

Very poor meal, chicken curry was flavourless, hot and sour soup was more sweet and sour, prawn crackers soggy and flavourless. Chicken chow mein was chicken and water chestnut, whole meal veryy disappointing (at least the boiled rice was OK). A take away to miss.

Litteraly only went in for a bag of chips and I waited half an hour why can’t they cook more than one bag of chips at a time and the lady at the front is very rude

As china palace has closed we thought we d give this place a try. Total waste of money! Bland sauces, over cooked prawns, overload of onions, sour tasting prawn toast, only thing ok was the rice. Sorry but won’t be going back, just hope we re not all poorly tomorrow 😞

Flavourless soup, salt and pepper chicken was a ridiculously small portion. 3 pieces of chicken and minimal veg. Fried rice was dry and bland. Definitely the worst Chinese I’ve had. Poor

First time I’ve used this Chinese takeaway and it didn’t disappoint, 3 dishes in total, food tasted fresh, nice chips. After my first visit I will happily recommend it….

Just moved here, first time trying and it was great, very clean inside meal tasted very fresh. Will be going again regularly.

Come from Bridlington where the Chinese where the Chinese was great before was in leeds, all were great first tried this on last weekend awful, will not be going in there in future.

Much better than most in the locality but not the exceptional standard of say The Orchid Restuarant in Harrogate. I like the way you have to think what's your main item i.e. chicken, prawns, pork etc. and then have an extensive choice of what to add to it. However, there's a bit of a problem. There's no website menu or one displayed in the windows, the shutters being down outside of opening hours. You have to obtain one from the premises when open. Interestingly the menu has the name of the take away as New Thai Hing. Good value for money with basic rice choice added for just 20p. Large Yorkshire sized quantities, too.

We have been using the Shun Hing for over twenty years. We keep returning because the food standards are consistently good, the service is friendly and you can see the kitchen is always nice and clean. Very good quality ingredients and beautiful fresh vegetables are used. This is a deservedly popular takeaway with the locals.

Ordered a chicken curry and there is no curry. I got a tin can of chicken and vegetables. No sauce and no curry. If I wanted a plain curry, I would've gone to the co-op.

Loved it. First time going and really enjoyed the food. I always get apprehensive when reading reviews as you never know which ones to believe. For this place I would say 'try for yourself'. Flavour was great, cooked beautifully and fresh ingredients on show in the takeaway shop. We ordered ours in the shop and collected and it was nice and quick. Chinese is not my first choice in takeaway but this place has pushed the cuisine up the list. As with anything though, they are only as good as their last meal! Me and my wife will be eating from there again.

Tried this place a couple of times and although the food has been warm and cooked through, it has been bland and uninspiring. Not my first choice for Chinese Takeaway.

Was a regular customer until last night, ordered food online, waited 2 and a half hours, telephoned and lady answered saying it will be another 10 minutes, waited another half hour phoned again to be told the same again, eventually at 5 to 11 food arrived with 2 cans of Sprite as a good will gesture !!!!!! Food was cold, chips were rock hard and items missing. Beyond livid

First time but won’t be the last! Absolutely great fresh food which was extremely tasty. The service was also great when ordering and very quick!

Spent half an hour trying to order this evening but nobody answered the phone, went to a local competitor instead and found it to be better. Sure fire way to lose customers when you’ve got 2 other Chinese takeaways within a mile.

This is our go to place for Chinese takeaway. After moving away from my hometown and having my favourite Chinese back at home, I thought I would find it hard to find somewhere that competes!! The food is always great, always quick service. Highly recommend!

Speedy tasty food. Never had a bad meal.

Unfortunately China Palace closed tonight so went to Shun Hung. Wish I hadn't, waste of money. The duck with mushroom does not smell good, more like a dog food smell. All of the fat left on the duck. Even the prawn crackers lack taste and smell like they might be quite old. Had a few mouthfuls but now the whole lot is in the bin. One to avoid.

First Class tasty food, friendly helpful staff, can't fault the place.
