Mings Chinese Takeaway in Selby

ordered here a few days ago. price is fair, good portions and less than £10 for a tub of rice and a meal. staff are lovely.

The best Chinese by a mile in the area as the food is always fresh, hot and portion sizes are good, the food isn't greasy or overcooked like many other takeaways, Their delivery is always much quicker than other places in the area. Although the fact they aren't on just eat or Uber eats will be massively affecting how much custom they get as they only accept cash delivery, which can often mean due to pure convience people order elsewhere.

Have to remember it is cash only. Good sized proportions

Called mings 3 times in 3 days and they don't pick up the food is delicious and it's very difficult to get a order as they never answered there phone

Love this place got to be 1 of the best Chinese takeaway I've been to . Staff are lovely there bloody quick. The food is on point and there happy to accommodate changes , price wise it's very fair . Taste in my opinion Is perfect. Parking can be tricky due to location but it's not really an issue . I like you can see all the kitchen and the guys prepping your food. Highly recommend

I thought the principle of take away food was for you to get home open the boxes and enjoy. Unfortunately, this was not our experience. Gave them 90 mins to prepare and collected at the correct time. All dishes were cold!! Air fryer and microwave needed to make the food edible. Would have been cheaper, nicer and more enjoyable if we had just cooked fresh from home. The whole experience is just one big disappointment and will never be repeated. Chicken curry - never had chicken like this before. On a positive note, the king prawns were tender and tasty.

Takeaway, decent value. Food is ok . Service is average and the selection list is not massive. Food is usually ready within 15 minutes.

The only annoyance is that they're cash-only

When phoning in an order they made us state what accompaniments each meal had. We (15 of us) ended up with 6 spare tubs of egg fried rice, 2 tubs of noodles etc. Not everyone wanted or needed a tub of rice each. Result....loads of waste and more profit for Mings. Not happy

We are regulars at Ming’s and we love it! Very grateful for Mimi for her knowledge and her expertise in food allergies. We got a lovely gluten free, dairy free and egg free meal which we were very grateful for! It was delicious! Cannot thank them enough for the great food and service l!

Bloody delicious Chinese from here was had by four folk. £47 for the four of us and it was fantastic. Photos don’t do it justice!! Cash only and have added photos of the food, menu and the front! Bloody lovely and well worth a visit!!

Shocking ordered over phone and arrived in 10 mins No way was this freshly made the food was horrible very greasy and cold 1st time and last we will use this Chinese

Very disappointed with my meal. Overpriced! Most of it went in the bin. The duck pancakes were the only ok bit The special curry was powdery and gloopy along with the black bean sauce. The meat was a horrible texture, sadly the chicken was watery, pork was rock hard and the beef was fatty and very thick. I won’t be ordering again.

Met my fiancee off the train, not a clue what to have for dinner.. suggested a Chinese. So popped into here just as they were closing. They opened the doors and took our order, the lady who served us was beautiful [ we both commented on that ] and polite. We went to the pub opposite while they sorted out our order, and she brought it to us.. the meal didn't disappoint, and we were both impressed. This was my first visit, but will definitely use again.

Had a few meals from Mings. Everyone has been superb. Their Special Satay Chow Mein is my go to meal. Love it.

Lovely food and varied menu. Orders by phone or if you are prepared to wait a short while order in shop

We have had several meals from Mings that have been amazing. We ordered 4 meals last night and unfortunately they where all disappointing. Very bland and the beef was so fatty with a strange taste to it . Most of the food was left . Did call but no reply 😢

I'd rather eat my own limbs than order from here again. Vile experience that went straight in the bin. Disgraceful food that cannot even be claimed as 'cheap and cheerful'.

Been going here for years and always been pleased with the food etc. However had the sweet house special curry and chips. Absolutely beautiful, but the shame was there didn't seem to be much meat/prawns in it. Hope this was a one off as I will go back but only once more to have a second chance

After reading good reviews tried Mings whilst camping overnight at nearby carp pond. To say we were disappointed is an understatement, meat in house special chow mein slimey and plastic tasting, meat in salt and pepper box unidentifiable, could've been the chefs fingers for all we know! Really horrible food, definitely wouldn't recommend

Ming's you never let us down. Ordered at 5pm. Delivered at 5.20pm Food beautiful as always. Delivery driver very pleasant. Top class service.

Food was disappointing tonight, called to complain and the lady on the phone was extremely rude. Was told to go down to the shop for a refund, they decided not to give us a refund, tried to close the door on my face. Disgusting service, would not recommend. Staff are rude and the food was not cooked through. Will be telling friends and family to avoid this place.

Recently moved house so had to find a new chinese that delivers tried mings 3 times now and every time the food has been excellent . The ribs are the best I’ve had anywhere and nice chips not soggy like some chinese chips. Plentiful portions and reasonably priced . The only complaint I would make is it could be a bit hotter I Would prefer food to be delivered in foil containers rather than plastic boxes as this would maybe retain the heat better .

This has got to be the worst Chinese takeout I have ever had the batter on the chicken was that thick and hard disgusting all dried out like it had been laying there for a week. I would not recommend this Chinese to anyone

Excellent food and always delivered promptly. Would especially recommend the salt and pepper box which is lovely and great value for money, with a large box easily serving 3/4 people.

Mings always offers a fast service and good food with large portions. Our favourite takeaway. If I ring with an order it is uaually ready by the time I get there

We have used Mings regularly(at least once a fortnight) since we moved to Selby 5 years ago. Can honestly say we have never had a bad meal-plenty of choice,efficient and prompt and always piping hot. Great that all meals are prepared fresh and in open view to all customers. The meals are huge so if you’re not that hungry would suggest you look elsewhere or plenty for the following day maybe.

Now Mings entertain you as well as sell veg. The game is called find the meat. I found three 5p sized flakes of chicken in my heap of bean shoots and carrots. Easy way to loose weight too.

Great service and the lady taking order was very friendly. Got free prawn crackers and free curry samosas which was a nice touch. Took a star off as the noodles I got tasted a bit soapy but maybe that's just the sauce used otherwise all good. The salt and pepper chips we're lovely and the curry sauce was not the usual Chinese sauce but I liked it.

Best Chinese takeaway in Selby area. Don't settle for an overly salty mess in a dish. Treat yourself to quality.

The worst food ever ordered a chow min and chicken in ok sauce with egg fried rice, ate half my food and got sick on it within 10 minutes and my partners chow me in was the worst I have ever tried rubbish old food don't waste your money oh and the spring rolls taste old and off.

Horrible worst Chinese I have ever had, spring rolls taste like they have been left in cuboard for months, chow mein bland no flavour, rice taste stale, just horrid, whole thing was not nice, waste of £16.50 won't order from here again!

Always get my Chinease takeaways from here, portions sizes are good and the food is fresh. Delivery is really fast which is good if your particularly peckish or super impatient. I love the fact you can see into the kitchen when you go in, so you know it's made in a really clean kitchen which is something that doesn't always happen with other takeaways sadly.

been getting my takeaway from here for a while now and love it, i have never been disappointed and never had a complaint yet. the food is lovely and delivery has always been in good time, i think this takeaway is very consistent and great value for money. my favourites being salt and chilli king prawn they are delicious :)

Always great food, done very quickly with very friendly staff. Order from here quite a bit because it is so good. Only take cash though.

Never had a problem until tonight.. Always order from them and love the food.. Ordered on New Year's Eve and when it was delivered they had missed a portion of chips of the order. This was sorted straight away.. Tonight they missed a whole meal off the order but wouldn't do anything about it when I called. They said 3 people checked the order.. I wouldn't lie about this and we usually spend over £30 each time.. I will not be giving them my custom again. Don't like been accused of lying.

Por segunda vez esta noche para llevar y yo sólo quería decir lo bonito que era. Normalmente soy nervioso sobre China, ya que siempre es una decepción. Pero esta noche pedí justo después de la hora de apertura y llegó en media hora!!! Entrega super rápida y la comida estaba bien caliente y fresco. Realmente nos impresionó. Sopa caliente y amarga era delicioso. Mar algas increíble trozos grandes. Tanto la carne de pollo y en las alas de pollo y fideos crujientes chili era perfecto. No me puedo quejar en absoluto!! Yo definitivamente a usar este nuevo chino. Mantener la comida fresca!!

Had Sweet and Sour Chicken Balls tonight. Absolutely delicious and very hot. Will certainly go there again. The Egg fried rice was lovely as well.

Very small takeaway, were you can watch them cooking your food. Prawns in my chow mein were over cooked and had become tasteless and rubbery. The free mini dim sum were an unexpected bonus and delicious.

They messed up the order, then made it my fault and wanted me to pay double delivery fee. Will never order from there again or recommend

Me dijeron que era muy grosera que lo que había sido entregada era lo que pedí y qué es lo que quiero hacer. Me sugirió lo reemplazaron con lo que pedí otra vez y era más o menos acusado de mentira!
