Hung Fong in Selby

Food just scrapping average, I thought some meats were undercooked, real scrapyard chips don't think there was a full chip in there. Lady taking order was real nice and pleasant.

Very greasy fried food (chips, mixed starters, etc). Not the worst but definitely not the best

I enjoy my mushroom omelette and chips and peas it be long time had that be back soon

Order was late, full of hair wrong rice came. Salt n pepper chips were okay but hair stopped us eating anymore disappointing for 24.90 for 2 people would try elsewhere

Wouldn't recommend. Couldn't get a simple order right. When you spend nearly £50 on an order you think they would get it right. Just lost a family order and will be telling not to use

Gust had a meal from them wrong order chicken not cooked rest of meal cold it will be along time before I go back

One of the worst Chinese takeaways I’ve ever had.. Duck was tasteless and sloppy, plum sauce erm well don’t even know what it was. Chips were cold and hard. Plum sauce my special in ok was ok at best. Will not be going here again.

Noodles where pure salt wouldn't recommend

Full of youths chatting with the youth behind the counter and discussing how "'she' doesn't pay me so I'll do what I want". Slightly intimidating.

I don't know where to begin, the spring rolls had no filling in them at all it was just fried filo in the shape of a roll. The ribs, well they weren't ribs, they were small chunks of just bone and gristle covered in a sauce and in the whole box there was probably the equivalent amount of meat for one rib. The sticky crispy beef well I think it was beef because it was cut so thin and covered with so much batter that you couldn't taste the beef, and it had a strange flavour to add insult the tray was a quarter crispy bits and three quarters vegetables. Ordered boiled rice and got fried rice. Just the oddest chinese I have ever had and shocking that a business would charge over £30 for such poor servings and quality. First time we've tried here and safe to say we won't be coming back!

We have been waiting over 2 hours and they haven't shown up at all. Don't accept orders if you can't for fill them. It's unacceptable. Would not recommend to anyone. We will never be using this place again.

Ordered food for delivery told it would be app 1hr 15 min, 2hr 15 min later still no food told it was in the area for delivery but cancelled order. Shame because the food is lovely

Lovely food the lady on the phone is so pleasent and friendly I have only had one cold meal turn up but didn't complain because the new delivery driver got lost it warmed up in microwave sorted thankyou hung Fong 👍

Ordered from here for the first time! Never again! Everything tasted like lard and the chips looked like they’d been swept up off the floor and didn’t taste much better!

Would not recommend to anyone, everything was burnt!! £20 for the salt and pepper box and everything that was in it was rock hard. Waste of money.

My meal can only be described as duck in snot with peas! Which along with the prawn toast was burnt... absolutely disgusting will definitely not be ordering again

Called in Saturday lunchtime Ordered 3 meals 1 chicken chow mein When I got home all I had was 2 small containers of noodles and nothing else No chicken or veg As I live outside Selby it would cost me more in petrol to take it back The other thing that is annoying they have changed to CASH only so I had to find a cash machine

Went in for lunchtime special and asked for chicken chow mein Got home to discover 2 small portions of noodles and nothing else No chicken, onions, bean sprouts etc Very disappointing especially when I had to go to get cash as they don't take card now and it would cost me more in petrol to go back to complain

I've been a customer for 12 years, This is the best cooking, no doubt. And what nice people I left Selby, 5 years ago but will drive miles to treat us to this food.

Best in selby by far. Love the duck and plum sauce with soft noodles! Sweet and sour chicken is also lovely. Never had a bad meal yet 👌

I've been in the area since '82 and have tried every option but have come down on "Hung Fong" to be the best in every way. So much so that I don't go anywhere else! Why am I here now....... I ordered a meal at 18:15 which arrived at 18:45 ish. Unfortunately it was not my order. Delivery girl was on the phone and I gave her the order details I had scribbled down.Had left the door open but looked out and she was gone. Waited till 19:45 and then phoned to ask where my food was as was expecting a priority turn around. I got some motor mouthed girl with attitude, saying she came back and I shut the door on her! Totally ridiculous and untrue and I can only think it was the delivery girl telling fibs to cover up her own mistake! Asked if my food was coming and was told "NO"! How enormously rude was that? Pity that Mrs Fong Read is not around anymore as I know she would have taken it in hand! BTW...there is a full height glazed window next to the door, so I can still see out when the door is closed and plus my outside lighting was on!

Always fresh food. Owners and staff very friendly. Food is gorgeous.

Quick service but poor food. Szechuan sauce far too spicy and no flavour, fried noodles flavourless and dry with no bean sprouts.

Very disappointed no where near as good as hung wang was! what a shame it has closed.The satay meal was like water very bland and the onion rings were totally cremated. My wife used this takeaway for many years it was always the best in selby don't waste your money!!

Just ordered sweet-and-sour chicken with chips in the butterballs I've eaten better food from motorway services And that is saying something the chips Horrible and Dry They look like they have Been cooked 3 days ago and reheated the chicken was dry I'm sorry but I will never use that Chinese takeaway again it's no wonder that's the only one in Selby town that's open this time at 10 o'clock on a Monday night

Great tasting food. Good service Pay 50p extra for chicken breast meat is worth it. Parking is limited to on street or in Al Murad tile centre car park across the street. Don't park on the frontage to Caramba (Mexican restaurant) across the road or they will ask you to move.

Best omelette I’ve ever had from a Chinese :)

My husband loves the food here especially the special curry. I always find the meals I have are way too salty , please cut down on the salt

Absolutley devistated how much they have gone down hill. We always order from here. Either for collection or delivery. Sometimes multiple times a week. But tonight has ruined it. The only decent part of our meal tonight was the soup.

Ordered our regular meal via telephone for collection. Ready when l called in. Don't be surprised to be seeing a guy (the cook) serving. He could do with his workwear cleaning asap. Food good as expected. Fair prices too.

The food here is always good. Freshly prepared and hot. The service is fast. I have been using this place for a few years. I have tried others in the area but always come back.

1hr 30 minutes wait for food from Hung Fong Chinese. It finally arrived and it's cold and I phoned them to complain and they said what do you want us to do about. 1) I want Hot Food 2) the staff to treat it customers better. 3) the staff to believe the customer when they say the food is cold 4) the food Shouldn't be cold cos of the weather. 😠😠😠😠😠😠😠😠😠😠😠😠😠😠😠😠😠😠😠😠😠😩😩😩

What’s gone wrong with Hung Fong! Just moved back to Selby after a year and decided to have our favourite Chinese take away as a treat! Shockingly bland and disappointing! Noodles completely tasteless and dry, prawn toast gooey in the middle and not cooked through! Spring rolls were just a bit of carrot in side a lot of filo! Beef curry was thick jelly like curry sauce covering huge pieces of raw onion and chewy beef! Chips, rices and ribs were just ok at best! Sadly the tastiest part of the meal was the prawn toast!!!!

Not recommended, ordered a takeaway and on two consecutive occasions missed items off the order which I paid for, not using them again

Despite now living in Barnsley, never found a Chinese takeaway that has lived up to Hung Fong. Love it!

Don,t go there. Make their own prices up. Curry and rice one price. Curry and rice separately one pound fourth more. Expensive polystyrene pot.

I ordered my food last night not a big order the man on the phone told me max a hour ok longer than other places but fine I waited 1 hour and 45 mins for my food to arrive and when arrived I got a sorry there was delays. My food was freezing and not nice at all. Don't waste your time or money at this place.

Usually a good place to eat... poor customer service... waiting 1 hour and 20 minutes for your food to be delivered and it still not arriving... every time I rang I was told it had left the shop!!! Will not be ordering from here again!!!!

Sadly, despite being starving, I couldn't eat my last takeaway from Hung Fong. Chicken and cashew. Bland and unappealing.

Food arrived quickly. That's the only positive. All the meals were coated in other thickened, gelatinous, over sweet sauces. Not pleasant, not tasty, did not enjoy.

It's ok, average tasting, open for dinner which is a bonus. Couldn't do me mushroom fried rice last time I asked which is basic so a disappointment.
