I got the duck spring rolls, £5.80, and they were tiny, they didn't have any duck in them, and they must have been cooked from frozen, as they were not hot, That disgusting food, Shame on you,

Me and my partner have just had a takeaway from this place (04/05/2024) and all I can say is VERY, VERY NICE indeed! The order arrived at our home within 20 minutes of placing it. The items ordered were all correct, tremendous portions and the food was hot. We will certainly be using this takeaway again and would recommend it as the best takeaway in the area - One certainly not to miss! Popped in by random chance and was first impressed by the wide choice of interesting and different dishes. They seem to do a lot of things their own way unlike many Chinese restaurants these days. The results are superb, it was the best Chinese we've had for years, enjoyed every mouthful. Very reasonable price for the quality of food. Highly recommended.

I went there yesterday with my brother. The service was quick and agreable, and the food delicious. As there weren't many people in the restaurant, it was also calm and tidy. Would definitely recommend.

Poor food, worse attitude — won’t be returning I had high hopes for Merit Chinese Takeaway, but this was one of the most disappointing experiences I’ve had with a local takeaway. The food was below average — greasy, bland, and clearly not made with care. The chicken balls were mostly soggy batter with very little meat inside, and the curry sauce tasted like it came from a packet. Rice was dry, noodles were overcooked, and nothing we ordered had the freshness or flavour you'd expect. But what stood out even more than the poor food was the atmosphere inside the shop. While I was waiting for my order, I witnessed the owner speaking to young staff members in a completely unacceptable way. It was unprofessional, condescending, and bordered on outright bullying. No one — especially young people likely in their first jobs — should be spoken to like that in the workplace. It made the whole experience uncomfortable and awkward. If the food had been incredible, maybe I could overlook a few issues. But when you combine subpar quality with an unpleasant environment and a lack of basic respect for staff, it’s a definite no from me. I won’t be supporting this business again.

Amazing food and friendly service! Quite cheap to feed a family too! Also the people saying it costs 20 quid for one person. Bruh stop eating so much that’ll feed atleast 3 for that price at top taste
