Sibu in Kirklees

I’ve been to sebu 4 times and each time it has been a let down the food was cold the staff water was very rude to us we walked in today they asked us if we’re eating in or taking out we go taming out then they go the kitchen is closed, every time they let us down we asked to speak to a manager and he was hiding, cant believe it wouldnt recommend this place to anyone they need to train their staff and update online if chsnges are being made to the times

I visited Sibu today with high hopes, but unfortunately, the experience wasn’t great. The food was just okay—nothing special. For the price, I expected much better quality. We waited over an hour just to get our food, and it wasn’t even that busy. Overall, it was a disappointing visit. Wouldn’t recommend.

Love the food here. Surprised that my kids love it too. Aifa was really good and helpful. High recommend this place. I would highly recommend the "Kung po" and volcano suchi.

Me and my kids have always enjoyed sibu. The food is always thoroughly enjoyed and service is brilliant. Aifa was extremely helpful and attentive today. As always much enjoyed!!

The volcano roll was best dish out of what we ordered. I ordered Fuji fries with the pulled BBQ chicken, but didn't get any chicken in the fries. Service was quick and the waitress friendly. The lack of chicken in my fries and also it being cold inside the restaurant is the reason for the 3 stars given. For the prices you charge it shouldn't be that cold.

Get takeout from here regularly but first time eating in the restaurant. Lovely atmosphere and lovely staff, great service from Aifa especially.

The food is great and the service time is reasonable, especially when it's busy. The staff are prompt, friendly and knowledgeable. In terms of location, the restaurant doesn't have its own parking but on street parking works fine. There is a Tesco nearby which people may park at but I haven't had to use it as there is usually on street parking available close outside the restaurant. Update: I've just been again in 2025 and it's actually even better! Service from Sumairaa was great and the food tasted even better. The dynamite prawns and Angus sirloin are very good.

Table reservation for 6pm. We ordered an appetiser in the form of Sushi Mix Platter 8pc large portions and good. For the main one we took Korean Wok crispy chicken & Bao the Cod. Tasty big super sauces. Waiters sometimes do not cover the tables. Waiting time for food 10min . 4/5 Star. Spend per person between 15-20 £

Was greeted and seated by a woman named Mubi. She was very friendly and polite and constantly checked ensuring everything was okay. The food came out fast and was lovely. Customer service and atmosphere was also lovely. 10/10

Visited Sibu for the first time, really enjoyed the food and the service! Aifa and Sarah were EXTREMELY helpful, they gave us food recommendations, they made sure we received our full order and made sure we were enjoying our food. They are a credit to the restaurant!!

First time trying Sibu and the service and food were great. Received really good food recommendations from Aifa and the other staff, food arrived hot and fresh.

Just would like to say SUMAIRA gave excellent service had a problem with food was resolved quick. Credits to her lovely girl need more workers like her ie let with smile and because of her I will return thankyou 😊for her I have given 5stars !otherwise it would have been less .

SIBU was disappointing. The staff were rude and unwelcoming, making the experience uncomfortable from the start. The food was overly spicy, masking any real flavor and leaving it unenjoyable. Not a place I’d recommend.

Came here to eat with friends today who came from Manchester wanted to try 2 places to opted to get a small portion of food els where majority from SIBU was tormented by staff twice to tell us off about bring food from out embarrassing us , which we literally put away after they asked us first time to respect the ‘Rules’ , was rude and kept coming back and staring at us making us feel uncomfortable, they proceeded to say again don’t bring food from els where , just rude which they was no need to be really ruined our day out.

Dissapointed by lack of availabilty of items when dining in. Wanted the beef bao buns which werent available. Had to order the chicken ones as i asked for a couple of things from the menu which i was told were not availble along with starters, coolers and mojitos. Chicken Bao buns were bland. Chicken dumplings were rock hard and bland. Drink choices were not it. The best thing you did was soul in a bowl which you have unfortunately discontinued. Had to leave an honest review. The service was good but as for the food really bland and not what i expected as i had heard good things from others who

Disappointing overall, I can not recommend it. We were guided to our table and the waitress just told us "scan the QR" and left. The QR was the menu, with no photos of the food. After a few minutes waiting we understood that we needed to order over the counter, were no one was waiting. I order Coke and they gave me AKO KOLA without asking if I was ok with that brand. And without ice nor a glass. Despite being almost empty, all the food we ordered arrived at the same time (starters boiling, wok and baos almost cold) no bowl for the soy sauce. The wok was supposed to not be spicy and it was. Sushi was expensive for the quality of it. Food was not terrible but not great neither. Service should improve, they were playing with the volume of the music and talking instead of taking care of the clients.

Great service must say, Got served by " Sumairah" polite young lady with a lovely smile. Food was good overall, something different but Asian taste to it. Was very busy but alhamdulilah overall good.

We came in looking for vegan options which weren't on the menu, fortunately, Aifa was very friendly and helpful and kindly spoke to the chefs who whipped up a delicious meal for myself and my partner. Would definitely recommend :)

I recently visited Sibu Batley and had an amazing culinary experience! The restaurant offers a delightful journey through Asian soul food, crafted with love and tradition. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, perfect for a relaxed dinner or a special celebration. The staff were friendly and attentive, making the dining experience truly memorable. Fab! Always hits the spot and highly recommended. Definitely an explosion of different flavours from the orient. Genesis and Aifa were both at hand with a wealth of expertise and recommendations of complimenting flavours. Will surely be back again!

A cross between restaurant and fast food counter. Friendly welcome and great service from Genesis. QR for menu and order / pay at counter with table number. Food and drinks then served to table. Food arrived quite quickly, all freshly cooked and extremely tasty. Came fairly much together, but is street food style I think, comes as it's ready. Selection of chilled bottled drinks. Would have liked a warm green or Chinese tea. Maybe a bean to cup coffee also? Particularly cold night, plenty warm enough and comfortable seating, but was a blast of cold air every time the door opened even though far from door. Will definitely return. Half price offer on Wednesdays. Great food and fair value. Could probably improve on drinks / cost. Were mocktaiks, didn't try, so assume not licensed. Didn't ask about BYOD but didn't notice any on other tables. Highly recommend gyosa, satay chicken, Cantonese chicken and Mongolian Beef (although a little fragrant for my taste). Accepts reservations. Food to love!!

I'm not saying this lightly food is absolutely amazing. Service was spot on. This is a winning team, that brings great food great service and nice ambient atmosphere and delivers on all points. The lady Genesis was very attentive and provided a great service.

Honest review. Food was good. Portions sizes were good. 3 starters 2 mains 2 drink £52.50. Not to bad price wise. My main course came late. The lady Ayfa serving was nice professional and recommended dishes. Baby chair was available. HOWEVER when I went to pay the instagram page states clearly NHS discount 15% mon-fri. When I questioned this the lady with hijab on counter said we don’t do this anymore despite it being on their socials. I got an annoyed vibe from her after this which was a let down. Why advertise if you don’t offer it. Insult to be honest to hard working nhs workers ! 3 stars for service because of the rejection of NHS discount despite it being on their socials. Overall food was good but cashier staff were a bit off which ruined the experience a bit. Plus side Nasheeds were playing.
