Panda Country in Kirklees

Super friendly staff, clean and pleasant. Great menu. From my own personal tastes, my meal felt like it lacked salt. Everyone has their own personal favourites, and this place will be added to my list.

Best chinese I have had in a while, would says beats all locally Huge portions, piping hot, very short wait and friendly service. Would certainly recommended

We have been getting a Chinese for years from panda country,we have friends come periodically and all have one,our neighbour also likes one, when on the odd time they have been on holiday,we have tried one somewhere else and always gone back to panda country as it can’t be beaten,friendly staff,good service,we have crispy duck,chicken curry,my husband likes prawn curry and various other meals all good quality,the best Chinese around.

Ok when we visited this take away it was Saturday evening, we waited approximately 30 mins from ordering, it was very busier. Menu showed no spice rating on the chile scale , I ordered special Szechuan and my wife ordered bamboo prawns and water chestnut, tasted both no difference both very bland and not a great portion, will not be returning .

enjoyed char shu rice but could have done with a bit more flavour. Chicken curry was OK, but quite greasy. Too much oil in cooking.

Worst chinese ever! BBQ Ribs were that dry you couldn’t even pick any meat off the bone. Salt and pepper chicken was like chewing rubber. Chow mein was tasteless and looks like they had used super noodles in there. Chips so hard in the middle. Worst £30 ever spent.

Spare ribs were a massive disappointment, rest of meal very average and could not recommend.

Not bad but their meat sometimes doesn’t seem that fresh. Their pork can be like leather. Sometimes the prawns are a bit mushy and have a foisty taste. Sauces great and so is their fried rice. Could be excellent but obviously cutting corners. Moved to the Dynasty in Cleckheaton

Prices have shot up and the quality has gone down. Had a terrible meal from here recently. Warmed up chips and overcooked chicken. Won't be using them anymore

Our first visit both me and my wife enjoyed our meal sure we will be calling again

I have gone here for years. I travel in total of 14 miles as its the best Chinese I've ever had. The lady is always friendly I'd recommend always xxxx

Just had another absolutely delicious takeaway from Panda country ready in the 30 minutes predicted and we ate every single bit.Would recommend to anyone.Thanks Peter.

Had food from here and honestly it was the worst meal I've had from any Chinese takeaway, food was so bland, no taste at all , I had to over salt it to get flavour, gravey was so weak, chowmain was terrible, won't be using there again.

we asked for bbq ribs and there was no sauce. we asked for crispy chicken and it wasn’t crispy. asked for only a few bean sprouts and they pretty much put the whole bag it but the best thing about the whole thing was the chips. DONT RECOMMEND

Our favourite dishes are vegetable curry... chicken szechuan... special fried rice.... salt and pepper chips and wings. Always lovely always hot. Lady in the shop very pleasant and friendly. Shop always clean. Ive given 4 stars because we've not tried all their dishes so unable to comment on those.

For a Chinese it's very good. Never been a massive fan of Chinese as it's never fresh but second time I have been here now and it's been really nice. Will continue to go here for now 😀

Ate from this place 2 days in a row was ok. i had the aromatic crispy duck both times was pretty nice in comparisons to the other local chinese’s. i had to eat here for the second time to give a more accurate and well rounded review

Very busy and a good wait during lockdown 2 (tried to ring but couldn't get through so visited instead) but food was well worth it.

Great little takeaway been going on and off for years chicken satay and chicken fried rice the best combination would recommend.

Finally found a great place to order Chinese food. Portions aren’t as big as some places but the food always tastes freshly good and good quality. I would definitely recommend.

Sauce very thin in currys. Did ask for thicker sauce on 2nd visit so was ok. Not the best in my opinion.

Just had a takeaway. We were disappointed given we went here based on other reviews. The crab meat and corn soup was made with crab sticks! The taste was just false.The prawn toast was greasy and the ribs over cooked. The king prawn and ginger etc was in such a watery sauce it was more like broth. The beef in kung po was really oily. The fried rice tasted like it had been in the fryer not lightly turned in a wok. The boiled rice was stodgy and tasted as though it had sat cooked for quite some time.

Wanted to try a new Chinese take a way. 15min on the dot. Good tasty and fresh Chinese dishes. Not too large just perfect size.

One of the nicest chineses around, if not the nicest! Noodles and rice are tasty and dont have a patch of grease, unlike many places around here! Very Cheap too, Will be visiting again!

We rang in our order and were told it would be ready in 15 minutes. I drove down and it was there waiting for me. It was delicious (chicken curry) with loads of meat in it, highly recommended :)

The food here is excellent, really nice, it looks clean too, the only downside is they don’t deliver, you have to collect your food but apart from that it’s really good

Has this Chinese changed hands since the good reviews because ours was disgusting tonight. If it wasn't so far away would have returned it all and asked for our money back, all want into the bin instead.Cheap horrible ingredients shocking taste especially chow mein and chicken curry. I know everyone likes different but I can honestly say from our point of view save your money and avoid at all costs.

At one time a week barely went by without me going here. Of late, it is rare I can get a meal from here, fully enjoy it and feel full. Problem with a Chinese, half hour after having a meal, you just feel hungry again. Service is ok, food is ok. But that's it. Ok. Nothing brilliant, nothing great, not bad, just ok. Definitely gone downhill from when first opened. Maybe my tastes have matured and got used to better quality eateries or maybe it really has gone downhill and with a gap of a good several years of frequenting this place regularly to the odd recent one off I can tell the difference. This was one of my fave take aways, but I can't see the pull for me here anymore :(

Been around for a long time. Food is always good. Service is quick. Prices are reasonable. Easy to park on the side of the street when collecting. Don't believe they offer delivery.

Maybe we just got the wrong dishes although we ordered a few! Wasn't bad but wasn't fab! Salt and pepper chips were a bit boring as was the chow mein.

New to the area so I was worried the food would not be as good as I.m used to... It was lovely. Worth every penny. And just the usual prices.. Definitely try here.

Muy bien de precio. No puedes equivocarte. Mejor que el de mercado birstall por mucho y el otro por el parque.

Voy a Panda en el país para muchos, muchos años. He probado casi todo el menú. Mi favorito es el Char Sui Curry - absolutamente delicioso. Pedidos listos en unos 10 minutos. Los precios reflejan otras porciones de comida para llevar y son lo que se espera. Lo que no tienes en otros lugares es el gusto sabroso de la Panda de país. No puedo alabar lo suficiente! La mayoría de las noches (no abierto los martes) y viernes a mediodía.

The Chinese food is really good quality not greasy like some in the area and comes piping hot the portions are on the small side though there's a good selection of starters and mains Rice and Chips are an extra charge

Never had a bad meal from this takeaway and we have used it for years. Would recommend the crispy chicken in ok sauce

What's to say really? Go almost weekly, enjoy their food! Usually make a phone order and collect (they don't deliver), and the food is always ready. Pretty typical takeaway prices and generous portions (BUT not overfacing as they often are). Recommended.

Good quality chinese takeaway. My only gripe is portion sizes. Very smallcompared with other takeaways in the area.

The starters weren't great, a bit cold and we ended up with not so crispy seaweed, and I had to wait for my order so it wasn't about timing on my part. The main courses made up for them, i had a very tasty satay!

The food is very good and reasonably priced. Telephone orders are dealt with promptly and are always hot. Staff are friendly. I have not had a bad take-away from here yet.

Panda Country is absolutely the best Cantonese/Chinese takeaway in West Yorkshire. The staff are all lovely and friendly. The food is delicious, especially the sweet and sour chicken, or fillet steak in ok sauce. The one and only downside is that they dont do a delivery service, but that may be just as well since i would spend much more if they did :).

As I say this is our only choice for chinese take away . It is a tiger more expensive than others in our area , but worth it !Food hot freshly cooked and tasty !

Love panda country,everything we have ever ordered has been fresh and tasty.our favourites are the special fried rice,salt and pepper spare ribs and the seaweed...the only other Chinese takeway that compares is kings in drig but this is cheaper and equal in quality

The best thing about Panda Country is that they use foil containers - which for me keeps the food hotter and fresher tasting than the plastic containers - which retain moisture and make food soggy.The only only minor issue is the time they quote for pick up is never correct. Although its nice to hear "20 mins" you are normally getting there and waiting ten mins.But the quality of the food more than makes up for it!Beef in OK sauce and salt & pepper spare ribs are favourite dishes.
