The best restaurants serving Chinese food in South East

Went for a joint birthday meal for my mum and dad. The place was filled with certain people who did not look after their children. They were fighting and screaming and climbing under our tables whilst we were eating. You couldn’t hold a conversation as the men of the certain people are sooooo loud!! I felt for the waiter and waitresses as you could see it was affecting other tables. They seemed to have no support from management who should have come out and said keep the noise down and keep your kids under control, but nothing. It ruined a nice family meal. Also the prices have gone up but the portion sizes gone down, which is a shame. Been coming here for many many years and felt very let down tonight. Would appreciate managers thoughts on the above and why no one was supporting the waiting staff??

I fail to understand why people think this place is amazing and give it five stars? My wife and I paid over £70 for very poor quality food, really it was just substandard takeaway food served on plates at a table, which I can do at home for a lot less money. My wife was also left with a dry cleaning bill after the waiter tipped Satay Chicken down her jacket, and then failed to apologise or offer to help in anyway to clean up the mess.

The best in MK for me. My daughter lives in Brighton and this place is her 1st stop when she comes back.

The food and service is fantastic. The sizzling king prawns, black bean tofu and banana fritters are favourites. Our waiter Yvonne put a big smile on our faces. Highly recommend!

My favourite Chinese takeaway in Guildford, I’ve been coming here for 3 years and they never fail to disappoint. Always hot and ready for collection when I arrive and the customer service is great. Highly recommend their duck and rice, its been my go to for a while now!

Dined in the restaurant where we normally get our takeaways from and it didn't disappoint. Great food and attentive service that didn't get in your face. Whether you eat in or takeaway the food is tasty and more than sufficient.

Visiting family and friends in Portsmouth again so decided to go to my favourite Chinese takeaway in Portsmouth. I was a bit worried after seeing the recent reviews, but nothing to worry about. Service and food is still great as it’s always been. My sesame prawn on toast was a generous portion of minced prawns on the toast and just so tasty. I also had the house special chow mein, which had a lots of delicious vegetables in as well as chicken , prawns and pork. The other members of my family also loved their dishes. The young girl serving me was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. I suspect the reviews from some of other people obviously don’t enjoy freshly cooked food. They probably like food enhanced with artificial flavouring like MSG. I go to Pearl of the Orient because I enjoy tasting food as it should be and not over seasoned with MSG . I actually get bad headaches from food that has MSG so I so glad Pearl of the Orient caters for people like me.

Admittedly we ordered early evening but the food arrived quicker than expected & was nice & hot. We enjoyed all of the dishes & the salt & pepper prawns deserve a mention, they wete outstanding.They were big & fresh ( not pre cooked)Also the Singapore rice noodles were excellent with no shortage of chicken & prawns in it.

Food was disappointing, the sauces you get like the curry or the oyster sauce seems really watered down therefore no real taste 😞. The people who work there are really nice tho .

The prices have gone up and the quality is getting worse. Cheaper ingredients, thinner sauce and more and more onions. I'm not even sure chunky white onions are supposed to be in Chinese cooking? This was the best Chinese locally, now not sure. Will try somewhere else.
