The best restaurants serving Chinese food in Trafford North West

Me and my bf discovered this place when we moved to old Trafford and it’s been our favourite spot ever since. We always get the share box and it never disappoints. We now moved to Chorlton and get this cinese at least 3/4 times a month. Don’t have anything bad to say about this place absolutely 10/10. Food is fresh and absolutely delicious and the workers are absolutely lovely too. Would 100% recommend this place.

Really good, tasty food. I had hot & sour soup, which was excellent. The sweet & Sour pork was also great. The Imperial House special fried rice was also great. Wasn't too busy when we visited. It was a bit cold in the restaurant but we sat near the front door. The lady serving us was friendly. Recommended.

Lovely host and food was fab, wish we lived closer so we could come again!

Food is really good, however, something has seems to of changed slightly in their recipe (for the worse), still good though!

By far and away the best chinese you will find for authentic homestyle food. Yes it is a small cafe with only 10 covers but you will go a long long way to find anywhere serving homemade dumplings. As well as the dumplings we ordered har gau, and pork bao followed by Shanghai fillet steak, duck in plum sauce and Singapore vermicelli. All were excellent. My boys said they want to go back again soon. High praise indeed.

I have always ordered from this Chinese and it’s been amazing. However I’ve ordered today and it’s just not it! The chicken was so cheery and hard. I think they have changed the ingredients for the curry sauce and it isn’t nice. The portion sizes have gotten smaller I think it’s cause of the new packaging. Not good at all which is a shame

Order a meal over the Internet they delivered it them self's meal cost £21. Then deliver charge £1.80 plus a service charge of 50pence I find this a total scam never ever order again online

I have never been here despite living in the area forever , the carpets and toilets are not very clean they need replacing , the starter was ok but the mains , despite the portion sizes being huge were flavourless and unappetising , not good at all , friendly staff and quick service ,don’t think I will go again

Ordered chicken foo young and fried rice. Fried rice was perfect. However the foo young was not made with eggs, it was made with egg powder. Absolutely rotten

Booked bottomless brunch. All was ok food was ok not as good as recommmended. Service was terrible at first gave the benefit of doubt that it was the ladies 2nd shift but when you have to ask 4 times for a drink and then when you ask what is going on they just go on to serve another table and turn your back on you is not only rude but totally disrespectful. How do you get value for money for your unlimited drinks when you can’t get one, totally ruined the experience will definitely not be returning it was only the guy who tried to salvage the day but damage had been done totally rude and although new to the job that was disgusting customer service she shouldn’t have been left on her own to look after two parties

Absolutely fantastic! Gonbay in Altrincham serves some of the best Chinese food I’ve ever had. The flavours are authentic, and every dish is cooked to perfection. The service is top-notch — friendly, attentive, and efficient. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, making it the perfect spot for a meal with family or friends. The crispy duck and salt and pepper chicken are must-tries! Highly recommend this place — easily the best Chinese restaurant in the area. Can’t wait to visit again!

The woman who was taking the order was extremely rude!!! She got my order wrong but rather than speak politely & offer to change it, she began to raise her voice at me Infront of other customers. It was only a special fried rice, hardly worth the overreaction! I should have just asked for my money back. The gentleman who was served after me also commented on her rude tone. It's the first and definitely the last time I'll be going there. Plenty of Chinese takeaways in sale!

This restaurant never fails to impress, ordered food for all family as a takeaway and have enough left over for the day after, nice big portions, quality of food is second to none, salt and pepper dishes were seasoned just right, the 15 minute dirve to collect is well worth it
