I have always ordered from this Chinese and it’s been amazing. However I’ve ordered today and it’s just not it! The chicken was so cheery and hard. I think they have changed the ingredients for the curry sauce and it isn’t nice. The portion sizes have gotten smaller I think it’s cause of the new packaging. Not good at all which is a shame

I genuinely don't understand the 5 stars. Of the four dishes I ordered, 3 of them were inedible. The salt and pepper crispy squid was tasteless and revolting - the squid tasted of cardboard and freezer; the chicken chow mein was too salty and the texture was wrong; and the chicken gyoza was undercooked and cold in the middle. The only dish I ate and enjoyed was their home made chicken spring rolls, which were tasty and piping hot. Absolute waste of money.

Getting a Chinese takeaway in the city outskirts is hit and miss, this one is a hit! I like pick and mixing my food so this place is great as it's got a great selection of platters and sharers, I love their salt and pepper selection and house specials! Prices are reasonable too, food arrived piping hot, great service thank you!

Food took 2 hours hours. Rice, curry sauce and chips missing. Food cold and absolutely vile test. AVOID!!!! Worst Chinese in Manchester.

In the pantheon of absolutely dreadful and inedible gunk that passes for take-out Chinese food in south Manchester, Gi Foo was a welcome relief in as much as we were able to eat and quite enjoy the dishes we chose. I don't understand why a city with the huge and wonderful tradition of one of the oldest and best Chinatowns in Europe ends up having no decent restaurants outside the city centre. This was ok but I will still keep looking for somewhere that serves GOOD FOOD. Very efficient and well organised although our server wasn't too keen on exchanging pleasantries. Covid precautions were outstanding. You can do a lot worse, but probably not much better.

Very authentic Chinese food. Great selection of salt and pepper dishes. Good sized portions and delivery usual on time. Only place I know that sells Mapo Tofu

We won’t get a Chinese from anywhere else! We regularly get a take away from here and every time the food is outstanding! Can’t rate Gi Foo enough

This business has social distancing at the top of their priorities. I pass on my way home and they have a whole ceiling to floor Perspex-looking barrier between their counter and where the delivery staff and people collecting their orders wait. May look extreme but it keeps them in business, the delivery people employed, and us lot all able to order their divine authentic Chinese cuisine. Ladies and gents of Gi Foo thank you for keeping going and giving us a good treat during rubbish times! 😊

I have been ordering from Gi Foo for around 2 years and food is always delicious and hot. My favourite Chinese on offer to the city centre, meat is always great quality. Special mention for the beef and broccoli and the dim sum shared starters

Really pleased to discover Gi Foo had reopened for takeaway as they were missed during lockdown. Food still great, and speedy (contact-free) delivery. Welcome back!

One of the best Chinese takeaways in Manchester. Food is consistently good and great prices. You can also eat in as there is a small restaurant, but we usually get delivery / collect our food to go. Staff are always really friendly as well.

I’ve only had takeouts, but everything I’ve ordered has been outstanding. Happy to have a consistent place I can order from.

This Chinese is the best in MCR, the salt and pepper platter is amazing and is great for 2 people, chow mein portion size nice and big and curry sauce is amazing. Ordered here a few times and will continue to do so. If you spend so much you get free prawn crackers and salt and pepper wings. Able to deliver which can take some time but after opting to collect recently, our food was ready in 15 minutes!! Love this Chinese

Use GF often and their food is always free and tasty. Whilst they do stock most classic menu items they could do more adventurous and authentic Chinese recipes

Food from here was very good quality and not overpriced. Preorder so delivery was on time and followed our instructions. Very good duck pancakes, spring rolls and sweet and sour chicken - thoroughly enjoyed! Will definitely be going back, no complaints

Just started using this place and it’s great. Beef curry not to hot, lovely pork dumplings, and the meat is nice and tender. Great curtious delivery service.

Very enjoyable meal, prepared promptly, in spite of the kitchen clearly being under a lot of pressure on a Friday night.

Since this is close to me, I've had takeway meals from here many times now. Good portion sizes, always delicious and offer a variety of dishes...for the vegetarians too. Reminds me of some of the food in Singapore. People are always nice too. Must try!
