Whilst ‘a Chinese Take Out’ is no longer a cheap option, and therefor has become a treat, we’ve found the food from the Good Fortune is good quality and the portions are quite generous plus we have no complaints with service

The food from the Good Fortune is consistantly outstanding to the extent that we look forward to trying various dishes from the very extensive menu. When we don’t collect ourselves their delivery service is always reliable.

I had a takeaway today from Good Fortune and wanted to share my experience for anybody thinking of buying a meal here. The restaurant does not have its prices on the menu board which is unhelpful because it is actually quite expensive. I paid just over £10.00 for chicken curry and rice/chips. The chips are pretty good, as is the curry sauce but the chicken is poor in a way that is too common at Chinese takeaways generally-slippery meat which is maybe reconstituted, maybe boiled but is unpleasant, with some chewy pieces. I feel that we have moved on from the 1970s and that these type of takeaways have failed to keep up. We should expect better than this for the money when there are now so many high quality alternatives.

Accidentally ordered online, over 200 miles away ! Phoned the takeaway, and after a discussion explaining the error, they have refunded the payment! Excellent

My wife and I have enjoyed Oriental food both in the UK as well as in the Far East and we are perfectly happy with the Good Fortune. Our orders over the last four years, either for just two or for groups of up to 17 have been enjoyed without complaint. We’re so grateful to have the services of such fine Chinese ‘take away’ that offers such really fine food and a very efficient delivery service.

I ordered sweet and sour prawns and a Singapore fried rice. The fried rice was a portion that easily lasts two meals and is really tasty. The sweet and sour? Wow. I’ve had sweet and sour many many times but this was easily one of the best ever. A really tasty dish with absolutely loads of beautifully cooked prawns. I’ve had their fish and chips in the past and I can seriously recommend them. Proper chippy chips and nice batter. Easily the best Chinese/chippy in the area.

I always pass this place as live a little nearer some other takeaways. Sooo glad I finally tried it, the food was delish, and the ingredients were authentic and carefully prepped.

Have had various takeaway meals from here over the past few months and have never be disappointed. Whether you choose Chinese meals or fish and chips, it is always fresh, tasty and very reasonably priced. Would recommend it to everyone.

Didn’t wait to long for my meal but I think it’s probably because the chips had been cooked well in advance, they were so dehydrated that they just spoiled the whole enjoyment of the meal.

Ordered take away. Great Food, amazing value, quick delivery and service. Special Chow Mein, Chicken Curry, Fillet Steak Cantonise and Egg Rice, brilliant.

There are a number of Chinese takeaways near us, but this is our favourite. Their chicken or beef in black bean sauce is the best I’ve ever had, and their jumbo chop suey rolls are amazing.

As my wife wasn’t going out I decided to have a meal from a takeaway, my usual place was closed so I decided to try good fortune , big mistake crispy rolls ,tasteless and l binned half of the sweet and sour chicken never to return

We had been searching for a new Chinese takeaway for a while, Good Fortune was recommended so we tried it on Saturday night and we definitely be using them again the food was very good.

I’d heard a rumour a couple of months ago that the original family had returned to run the business again, the rumour is correct and the food is back to the standard it was 3 years ago , nice people running a belting little Chinese takeaway, apparently they deliver which they never used to , Ribs fall of the bone

Order mix-up on my part - staff went off and ordered what I had originally wanted, no fuss, no problem. Friendly efficient staff and gorgeous food.

We’ve used this Take Away four times with orders from 2 to 10 meals. On each occassion the various dishes have all been very enjoyable and Rogers have been no complaints. Portions are generous so you certainly won’t go hungry.

We've lived all over the UK and this is THE best Chinese we have found... Lovely good and good fish and chips too...

I was disappointed that in my notes I said no wheat but they coated the prawns in batter. They should read notes thoroughly. I didn't want to send back as we were too hungry to wait

Been looking for a quality Chinese since we moved in, in November. Tried a few locally as well. Good from Good Fortune was absolutely spot on, delivery time great and the guy who dropped it off was pleasant and didn't have a problem finding the house (quite rare). Will 100% be ordering from here again.

Sosa; pero menos porciones más grandes de comidas sabrosas. Ya no es auténtico. Realmente necesitas cambiar chef. Ya no hay servicio de personal. Ahora otro pobre a tomar media distancia. Qué desperdicio. No puedo verlo, mercado competitivo de supervivientes hoy. Buscar otro sitio.

We ordered from Good Fortune for the first time yesterday and were suitably impressed. The food arrived 10 mins early, was piping hot and delicious. We also recieved a few extras due to spending over a certain amount and the delivery driver was very polite. We will definitely be ordering from here again!

Really bland, crispy chilli chicken was mild at best and the egg fried rice was like plastic. Sweet and sour sauce tasted more like a cocktail than a sauce.

Great value, clean, fresh, hot and tasty food. We regularly frequent Good Fortune as we live local, but would be prepared to travel if we didn't as it's the best Chinese take away we've come across.

The food was very expensive for the quality. I ordered salt and pepper tofu and it arrived soggy not crispy. There were also items missing from the order. The driver kindly returned with missing items around 10mins later but should have been checked before leaving.

Will never order from here again. Ordered our food at 7pm, by 9.15pm the food still hadn't arrived. Tried phoning the takeaway but no one answered. In the end I had to drive to the shop to pick up our food! When I walked in I saw our order just on the side in a bag, I asked what the delay was and the reply was "we're busy", not even an apology! And she refused to refund the fee I had paid for delivery even though I picked it up in the end!!!! Shocking customer service!!!

2 hours later delivery came after 2 phone calls chasing up , after all not the good fortune we all know and love , this establishment must have changed hands as what stuck out by a mile as being exceptional before , has gone to average now . Wing Hing Plymouth Rd is by far better , humble in comparison but better quality and service second to none , to sum up good fortune, quit while your behind or get the previous owners back in ad your working in their shadow and jeopardising their reputation such a shame , obviously I will not re-order .

I've tried every Chinese takeaway on Just Eat in the Sale area. This place is much much better than the rest and is now my locked in choice. This is also one of the few Chinese delivery places that has a 5* rating with the Food Standards Agency. They're not great with delivery times but I'll let them off because of the food.

Exellent food and frendly service

The food here is to die for and their new menu even lists allergy information, low fat options and msg free! It is reasonably priced, tastes fantastic but it is always busy! Order plenty in advance and either collect or get it delivered.

Queríamos pedir comida on un sábado por la noche y no sé, es un lugar para hacer uso de él, pero había un menú a través de la buena fortuna. Había una gran variedad de platos, comida inglesa así como en chino además de algunas cenas y banquetes. Decidimos pedir una cena para 2, fue una excelente relación calidad-precio. Guy tomar el pedido por teléfono era amable y eficiente y la comida fue entregado a menos de 30 minutos por un chico que también era educado y eficiente. La comida era deliciosa y bien caliente y la sopa de pollo y el maíz era el mejor que he tenido! No cabe duda de que pedir otra vez y estamos encantados de recomendar este lugar a otros :)

Food lovely big chunks of meat in the meals not like other takeaways who just put little bits in first time using this chinese takeaway but definitely not the last.

Great food, glad to see they are finally on here. The delivery time was immediately pushed back 30 minutes which is really annoying but it still came pretty quickly.

The meal took an extra 35 mins to arrive of which it was only warm and the batter was soggy. Not clever.

Regularly use this takeaway. Always busy so order well in advance. Food is very good standard, always reliable. Staff very friendly.
