Won't accept a booking from anyone with food allergies unlike any other restaurant I have ever been to. Blatant discrimination to cover their own backside. Addition: It is a peanut allergy and peanuts are NOT nuts. We are aware that there can be no guarantees and said we are okay to accept the risk (we carry epipens), yet you refused on the basis that you "cannot 100% guarantee" that products bought at the cash and carry might have been contaminated.

Exactly what you want from a Chinese restaurant. Friendly staff, great food. Will definitely be back. Elite. Ronaldinho at Barcelona, ticked all the boxes.

We had the early bird set menu and it was good, although quite limited in the range of dishes. It is great value for money though. Service was polite and attentive.

What a delicious meal we had everything was very tasty cooked just right we have nothing to complain about we would recommend Fortune House to anyone we had a delightful evening thank you to Fortune House.

The food was absolutely amazing, the egg fried rice was wonderful and traditional. The salt and Pepper ribs were stunning and the veg rolls were beautiful. The mains Omg, I had the lamb and mushroom house special fried rice all I can say is superb, very tasty. The appetisers I had where lovely, spring rolls, prawn toast and crispy won tons all beautifully prepared. The service was absolutely impeccable nothing was too much trouble with a few changes. All in All this is the best Chinese restaurant I've been too in years and I will be returning. Prices are very reasonable, I went with 4 people and they as the older generation wanted to try different cuisines and with drinks,I had 5 beers 😆 they had a few was around £160, that was with loads more appetisers than normal. If you like a few drinks and a fantastic meal with a couple of drinks £40 would see you through. All I can say is amazing!!!!!

Lovely food and friendly staff will definitely be going again

First time at the Fortune House after reading other great reviews and we can confirm it's fab. It was incredibly busy as there was a huge group booked in (Sale Wine Club) which actually created a great buzz and atmosphere. Despite the restaurant being full, the service we received was impeccable - cheerful, friendly and timely. The food was excellent. Thanks for a great evening 😊

Ive been going to Fortune House for a few years and the food has always been fresh and fantastic. The staff are so kind and approachable. It is by far the best Chinese in the area and will happily recommend to anyone!

What a great hidden gem! Had an excellent meal here visting from Belfast - The food was wonderful and well priced with generous portions and wonderful staff. We had young children with them which in lots of restaurants can be stressful but the staff were great with the kids and catered to their tastes too, as well as little treats on the house. Stand outs were the crispy lamb starter and the salt n pepper chicken! Can’t fault the place

Always a fabulous meal here, our family have been dining in and having cheeky takeaways since Fortune House opened. We won’t have a Chinese meal from anywhere else, big thank you to Daisy, her husband (the chef) and all the staff.

I have been to this restaurant a few times and each time I have experienced amazing service, the staff are kind and give advice on what to chose if uncertain, the food is lovely it’s always cooked to perfection and the taste is great. Definitely worth it, I recommend that everyone try’s this place out.

Fantastic food and wonderful service, all the staff are so polite and friendly! I live down south and visit the north irregularly to see friends and family, and this restaurant is tremendously better than anything we have back home. I can't praise them enough!

Family of 3 had starters..Duck nice and Squid too but beware the chefs special of Korean Steak Galbi which I had was overpriced (£16) and the portion size was extremely small....I politely mentioned this to the gentleman server who was very apologetic and did actually try to get the owner but we were leaving...

Went on Wednesday (26/07) evening. Food was very good. Fresh and tasty and the beers were cold.

5 of us went for the early bird dinner early on a Friday evening, food and service excellent, really good value for money, will definitely go back again.

This must be the best Chinese restaurant for food, service and value for money in south Manchester I had the barbecue ribs with honey, the meat just fell of the bones. Followed by crispy lamb and pancakes with hosin sauce absolutely delicious. Can't wait to return.

Good food, but the driver took a long time. I had to chase the driver personally by obtaining his personal number from the establishment as they couldn’t account for his delay..

Up to tonight we were very satisfied but as of tonight extremely disappointed as the crispy duck was undercooked and fatty really uneatable. Not going again and my friend is not booking her birthday dinner there next week. Their excuse was they were very busy !

Nice local restaurant, but bit of over priced. The demonstration of dishes could be better.

Misleading ‘early bird’ offer. The restaurant staff doesn’t share the catch in the offer so when we went there, ordered the food it came to a surprise to see that the early bird didn’t apply. Unfriendly and shouty staff argued even when we showed the sign that was outside and refused to apply the offer that they advertise claiming that it was from the menu that they had inside. Unfortunately, we were also told that they don’t have enough copies so it wasn’t available to see at the time.

Very disappointed as we were mislead by the offer of an early bird as seen on the sign in front of the restaurant. The offer was not applied to the meal and staff didn’t put the T&C on tables so the meal was at normal price. It felt like there was no discussion with the staff regarding the offer as they were quite shouty and with limited English so be careful with the offers the restaurant advertises as it seems there’s an undisclosed part to it. Manager didn’t want to apply the discount even when showed the sign out side the restaurant. I wouldn’t go there for a meal as the food quality and the service are no better than a takeaway.

Very disappointed as we were misled by the 'early bird special' that the board outside the restaurant advertises. The board outside states 2 course meal for £10.95 if you order before 7pm. We therefore assumed that this meant everything on the menu. Apparently though there is a different menu that you have to order from to obtain this deal (which we were not shown or offered). When we explained this to the manager that the board mis-advertised the deal and that we were never offered this menu, he refused to refund us and continued to argue his point. Very disappointed in the customer service, and I would not recommend this restaurant unless you want to be ripped off.

I go to Fortune every week because it’s so addictive. Dim sum literally means touch’ the heart’ and they do just that, they are so delicious and moorish. Daisy is a wonderful generous host and all her staff are friendly and attentive. They offer value for money and have amazing deals especially at this time with the market energy hikes, oil and in general food costs …..I don’t know how they do it…but I’m very grateful they do.

Well what a surprise. As we were travelling through Sale, and needed a place to catch up with some family from Manchester, this was our choice. As we had a table booked for 5.30, we had the option of a meal deal, which we went for. It was amazing value for a lot of food, and it was all really really good. Plenty choices for the kids also. Staff were really friendly, and will definitely go again… even if next time we have to travel out our way to go!

Daisy was the perfect hostess, nothing too much trouble especially as we took 3 demanding under 7's! Food presentation and taste immaculate. The chef special 'Freaking Hot Beef' was amazing and freaking 🔥:) Will definitely be back.

A group of 8 of us choose the restaurant for an evening meal and were were not disappointed. Great food, great price. Be warned...... the portions are very generous. Lovely staff. What more can I say?

Service was quite good but found the special chow mein a bit bland. Also I prefer the thicker noodles but I suppose this is a northern thing

It’s 4 stars for this place given the deal. We got a takeaway for four and all the food was good. We had some quality porters to wash the food down too. We opted for the deal on their website that excluded all fish mains and only allowed pork if it was in a sweet and sour sauce. So I opted for that. My wife took the sweet & sour chicken. The other two dishes were chicken curry and spicy chicken Szechuan. The portions were fair and these dishes and rice were 3 star good. A downside with sweet & sour dishes occurred here and I find it’s common among Chinese places - they all buy the cheapest pineapple. At the prices now being charged then the least they can do is provide some quality pineapple; it’ll also make these dishes more tasty. On the plus side too they added some extra starters like seaweed which is darn decent, their spring rolls were good too and the free prawn crackers were great quality. The deal allowed us to order a half crispy duck with all the fixings at a great price (£14). It was deep fried and darn good too but they give chopped leek rather than spring onion - again an inferior substitute. All in all we enjoyed the food. We noted they don’t do Deliveroo or similar. Good for them. Worth supporting.

We went there last night for my Mum’ birthday. There were 8 of us and the service was excellent. We hadn’t told them about the birthday but they realized and brought out a celebratory dessert. Overall the food was really tasty. Would highly recommend

Visited last night and both the food and service were amazing. Good cake fast but was fresh and hot. Service was great. I asked for shredded chicken in OK sauce which wasn’t on the menu but they made it anyway. Appetisers we’re also very testy and sauces were lovely (not gloopy like most Chinese restaurants/takeaways). Will definitely be back!

Oh my god. The food you get served is just as good as the photos on the website. It was delicious. The portions are more then adequate and I only wish I lived local to the restraunt. The staff are really friendly and service was 5 star worthy

Honestly underwhelmed, had the shredded beef and salt pepper wings, all tasted stale and tepid, shame as it's the closest sit in Chinese restaurant to us.

Really annoyed ordered take out total cost £28 gave £2 to delivery lady. I ordered par far duck that should have mash prawn on top with mushroom sauce delivered was with a horrid sweet sticky sauce I can't eat horrible told get lost when I call to complain they are getting very rude nowadays & even though regular so last visit shame.

Waited ages to be asked what we wanted to drink, then ages for them to arrive and ages to give food order. They were very busy doing/ sorting takeaways. Drivers constantly in and out. Took ages for food to come. It was just warm. Problem when paying with their machine.

Visited for a family birthday meal and we chose the banquet with crispy duck (I can’t remember what it was called). The first course after prawn crackers was a choice of soup. This was absolutely delicious. Second course was a selection of mixed started, these were all clearly home made and again very nice. The crispy duck came with loads of pancakes and was probably the highlight of the meal. Main course consisted of a selection of dishes all of which were great but particularly the sizzling fillet steak and king prawns with ginger. Should also say that the service was excellent, staff were so kind, friendly and made a real fuss of the kids.

Revisited this place after bad experience a few years ago. Foods improved and found the staff friendly. The Korean fillet steak was excellent. The chicken and blackbean was quality but lacked seasoning. Overall a nice meal. Worthy of a visit.

First class Chinese restaurant! We came for the early bird offer and the food, drink, atmosphere was perfect!The food was so fresh and tasted amazing! Probably the best Chinese meal I’ve had in a long time and I love Chinese food! Will definitely be coming back and recommending to everyone! Plus £9.95 for a 2 course meal?! Doesn’t get much better than this!
