The best restaurants serving Chinese food in England

Have been back to Lucy wong now on three occasions and each time has been wonderful. Beautiful decor creating a 1950’s Hong Kong vibe with interesting cocktail menu and just enough food on the menu to satisfy and cravings . Cocktails are very well priced for the quality and taste and the happy hour is perfect . Tables are cosy and well spaced out so you have privacy. Stevie the manager is really welcoming and attentive and the waitress also super polite and helpful. If you go here leave any attitude at the door it’s a cool laid back bar that doesn’t need any pretentious guests, but more happy chilled souls who appreciate a good vibe and a great cocktail.

Ordered some food for delivery and was told 1 1/2 hr wait ... wasn’t happy but agreed .. 1h 45 m later still no food , called and was told it would be another 30 mins .. ARE YOU FOR REAL !!! Over 2 hr wait .. MAYBE STOP TAKING ORDERS AND STOP BEING GREEDY ... When I asked why they never called to tell me it’s gonna be late ... reply . BEEN TOO BUSY TAKING ORDERS .. AVOID !!!

Disappointed to say the least. Ordered at 5.33pm, was told an hour for delivery. Called again at 6.40pm, told driver had left and was on it way. Called at 7pm, they apologised and called the driver and he said 5 mins. 7.11pm driver called to say he is outside. We realised he wasn't were he was meant to be. He was rude when I asked him questions as to where he was, he then shouted 'I wasn't talking to you' down the phone after I said excuse me. Eventually found the driver and he was just as rude in person. On checking the food, I was missing an item. Called the store and explained about the driver and missing an item, they were very apologetic and said they would get the missing item out to me. I refused as I had wait 1hr45mins for my food. Got into the car and drove to the store, again store were very apologetic but I had 3 issues with the order I wasn't happy to accept their apology so collected the missing item and left. This was meant to be my sons birthday meal, but unfortunately it was ruined by the delay and then the food was luke warm and mum (me) leaving to get the missing item. Shame their old delivery driver was amazing so kind and polite. Needless to say I will think again before ordering from them.

Lucky house Chinese takeaway serves excellent meals & delivers quickly,prices are reasonable,staff & premises spotless.I would definitely recommend.

Normally love they're food, unfortunately tonight after being told hour to hour half for delivery we waited over 2 hrs 45mins Food wasn't as good and luke warm . Disappointed

Normally we have no issues with this place, love it & great food & value, but this time was awful. I placed an online order to collect, waited 40 mins that went over my time slot, only to find my food had been ready for 20 mins an put in the wrong section! Got home with cold food & to top it off, wrong meal! Really disappointed, especially with the service.

Was one big lump of congealed mess, I ordered a large but they squeeze it all together so it all tastes the same. It’s nothing like a Chinese meal. It’s like something I would make at home then wish I hadn’t bothered

La última vez la calidad había bajado un poco, pero esta vez, mucho. Para empezar, el arroz que nos dieron fue basmati - el arroz indio de grano largo - en lugar del arroz chino pegajoso de grano corto habitual. Toda la comida estaba muy sazonada con cinco especias chinas, un sabor que todavía persiste conmigo varias horas después, y no de una manera agradable. Mi chuleta de suey debería haber estado cargada con una variedad de verduras, pero en su lugar eran brotes de frijoles casi en su totalidad con unos pocos trozos flácidos que parecían recortes de cebolla de primavera, más unos tres palitos de zanahoria Julienne. Muy poco en el camino de cebolla, champiñones, pimientos, zanahorias o cualquier otra cosa que pudieran haber utilizado. El cerdo charsiu era bastante duro y difícil de masticar. El pollo agridulce de mi marido tenía trozos de zanahoria y cebolla que estaban prácticamente crudos. Me gustan las verduras todavía crujientes, pero probablemente solo se habían cocinado durante unos 30 segundos. Realmente no había mucho pollo y lo que había implicaba un montón de pequeños trozos de masa que probablemente no contenía ningún pollo en su interior. El pollo en sí casi parecía como si hubiera sido pre-cocido y luego calentado de nuevo, ya que parecía un poco cansado y seco. El arroz frito de mi marido era irreconocible como tal. Seguro que podríamos haberlo hecho mejor con un par de paquetes de arroz y una comida congelada de un supermercado. No volveremos a comer aquí. No tiene sentido tener una calificación de higiene de cinco estrellas si sirves comida que no es comestible.

Ordered takeaway ,Asalways service 100/00 lots of meat in our dishes beautiful cooked not too much veg.Flavour fabulous piping hot asalways.

Tried their sweet and sour pork Cantonese style and fried rice. Tried the spareribs too. Everything was very authentic, tasty, and delicious. Piping hot when I got the food. They even gave me a bag of complimentary prawn crackers. Their service was friendly and prompt. Will definitely be back when I’m in the area.

There are Times when COOKING is a Labour at home : Even for the most Keen. The 'Royal Chef' is One of Our Go To's, as Many Times : We have Been. IT is Even More Convenient , when Delivered to the Door. Of Late; as we've Got Older, we tend to use 'Takeaway', much More. The Food is Delivered quickly : Well within an Hour. Occasionally the Beef is Tough & Difficult to Devour. HOWEVER: TASTY & Indeed, prepared, somewhat To Our Taste. The Sauce was Once to Sweet & Mild for Me ; So: Chef kindly added more Chilli & less Sugar in the Paste!

We have used this many times in the past and have never had no issues but when i phoned this takeaway tonight at 6pm and asked for a order just over £18. Had to phone back up twice and asked if my order was on its way.... and she explained they have employed a new driver and hes got lost....and on the second time they said that they would remake it again and send it straight out.....so when it eventually got to just before 9pm tonight we phoned for a third time....to say it was way to late eat now... as wife is disabled and also a diabetic... and said she had a good mind to ask for a free meal for this and the woman didn't as much as apologise... laughed thinking it was a joke and said she will tell her boss.....i cant believe there was even as much as a apology....it will very dissappointed indeed. 🙁🙁

Poor food. My husband and I ordered a duck and chicken chow mein as main dish and only a minute amount of chicken/duck in each. However, not the chief concen colour of cow main was dark red/black so amount of dye in soy sauce excessive. Never in my life have I had a chow main that colour before I felt sick to the stomach. 2nd dish salt and pepper & chilli prawns. Enough chilli to make u run to the cold water tap. I have ordered these from other venues and never with this outcome. Obviously novice chef just sprinkling loads of chilli over top ad lib!!! 3rd dish ribs - ver good thank goodness as I would have starved!!
