New Bamboo in Kirklees

Moved to area and wanted a proper Chinese. This is that. Tender meat, perfect chow mein, great starters, arrives quickly and always hot. Great!

I'm very fussy with takeaway food, but the food here is excellent. The ribs are so tender, I've tried different sauces, bbq, and Cantonese. Both were lovely. I've had the special chow mein the meat is tender the prawns are really nice and big. I've had special ok sauce with egg fried rice too that was very tasty.

Ordered here for three years with no problem. Tonight waited over an hour and 15 mins for delivery, before calling them to see where the food was. When I called them, they stated food had been sent out for delivery 10mins earlier. 15 mins later still no food. Called back again to be laughed at by a very unprofessional member of staff. Asked to speak to a manager who told me “what do you expect, it’s a Friday night”. Really poor service and when food arrived I told delivery driver to take it back as not prepared to eat cold food. Food might be ok, service a joke.

The food was great however there was a certain server that was extremely rude. She had long brown hair, seemed young. I think her name was summer. She never smiled and was very cold with me the moment I walked in. When the food was ready, she dumped it onto the counter and turned away. It was uncomfortable and not a nice way to be.

Nothing fancy. The menu categorises different kind of sauce/soup base and various meat/veggie options plus the usual staples and sides. We ordered a stirred fried beef slices in black bean sauce. All dishes come with either rice or chips free. Great value if you like a quick meal. When I was ordering the phone was ringing none stop and you can see the kitchen staffs very busy cooking away.
