For non-spicy, I would recommend shredded pork with garlic moss, twice cooked pork, steamed fish, or Tieban beef. All of the fried rice options are so tasty. They offer hot pot which is one side plain and one side spicy. The bottled sweet ice tea that they sell is delicious. The perfect restaurant to try authentic Szechuan food, which is great for spice lovers, but I hope I can help with the choice for some people who don’t love spicy food

The amount of food per dish is large. Beef is tender and taste great. I cant finish my own so I have to pack it to take out. Overall, good restaurant. Will come back again.

This is a great gem if you like Chinese food. The owners are lovely, the food is homey and comforting and the portions are great for hungry students. We always order more than we can eat and have leftovers because is too good not to try and it’s great the next day too. Will come back for sure

One of the best Chinese dishes I’ve had! I would recommend the spicy beef rice coupled with the Kung Pao chicken. It’s actually perfect, me and my friend come here twice a week for this. The service is lovely too as the owners are kind and wholesome. Don’t be deceived by the exterior of the restaurant as it may seem shady at first, but me and my friend took the chance, and in turn discovered a gem! MUST TRY!

Amazing Visit to Wei Wei Authentic Sichuan Cuisine in Huddersfield Town Centre. We have visited a number of times and it's always top clasd. Today we ordered Beef in Chilli Oil, Sauteed Chicken and Steamed Rice. The beef dish was enormous packed with beef, beansprouts, onions, peppercorns and chillies - The spicy broth was amazing. The sauteed chicken again was a sweet and spicy delight. Great food, great service - it won't be long until we visit again to sample more delights from the menu 😊🍜♥️

It’s the best Chinese restaurant in Huddersfield in my opinion. Been here 4 years ago with a friend and I did enjoy the food. I tried coming in one more time but I think it was shut for a while so then I never tried again. I came again tonight in spite of the 3 star reviews while laughing with my friend that we might get food poisoning and that is one of the worst rated restaurant in Huddersfield. Most of the reviews look like they are from long time ago. I am not sure if the restaurant is under new management or if they have improved. Or the thing is, most of the time the people won’t leave reviews when they had a good experience, they leave reviews when they had a bad experience. The visit tonight was very pleasant, the place looks better than before and the food was amazing, freshly cooked, with very good ingredients. Had the taste of home, a nice homemade meal. The portions are huge , we couldn’t finish the whole meal but it will make a nice lunch tomorrow. Staff was nice and polite too and they explained the dishes carefully when we asked them. If I could, I would give 10 stars only to make up for the low score they have. Keep going guys, you are doing a great job! I am looking forward to my next visit.

I rarely feel inclined to write reviews for places, due to not eating out very often. With that being said, this restaurant absolutely deserves it, and it would be unsensible for me to not give this place a 5 star. I've eaten here twice with my cousin and aunt. We've tried many of their dishes, and still have many more to go in the future. Out of everything we've tried, it all tastes amazing. The best Chinese food I've had in the UK for sure. Many of the poor reviews of this place disappoint me. If you're coming here to order chips, salt & pepper chicken, curry etc, you're doing it wrong. This place has authentic Chinese Szechuan food, and they clearly specialise in that, as we haven't tasted a single subpar dish. It's all been phenomenal. The staff have been kind and welcome, and they always have a smile of their faces. Even though the service is very warm, I would suggest bringing a Chinese friend if possible to help communicate and recommend dishes etc. I've stuffed myself both times I've eaten here, and enjoyed it very much. Would recommend to everyone and anyone to come here and dine in. For the Chinese people, if you're looking for something authentic, you can finally find it here. You won't be disappointed. I've already recommended this place to the rest of my friends and family, and we'll continute to come here for years as our go-to Chinese restaurant.

The only authentic Szechuan restaurant in Hudds town center. Need to know the dishes in order to fully enjoy what they have to offer, otherwise can end up with unsatisfied westernized Chinese food. Best to eat in, with your Chinese friends if it’s your first time to give you suggestions or google any famous Szechuan dish that suit your palate.

Visited Huddersfield for my girlfriends graduation, she recommended this place and the food was so good we visited twice within two days! Reasonably priced. If you are ever in Huddersfield visit this place!

Ordered alot of food to feed me and my 5 children dont normally order out but was a treat to the kids I spent £62 the chips were raw and another over cooked the chicken was under cooked the rice was gritty the noodles were plain had no taste at all the curry was like gravy generally all the food was not edible I messaged the company they was rude and abusive they wanted me to send all back which they would then send to another customer but I've still got the food here I want a second opinion it was overall awful ive got all messages I got sent very aggressive and abusive not good for a business to reply like that they just wanted food back so no one would see what we was given 😡😡

This restaurant serves quite authentic Sichuan food, beautiful taste, welcoming service. The portion of Spicy fish is very big, my kid likes their dumplings. Certainly one of my favorite Chinese restaurants in the country. 他家的菜是很正宗的四川口味，水煮鱼分量很大，好多鱼 没有刺，锅包肉外酥里嫩，在海外可以吃到这个质量的就很好了，孩子喜欢他家的饺子。绝对是我在英国最喜欢的中餐之一。

Throw out any poor review on here - new!!! chinese owners recently and the food is authentic and excellent!! There is a visual menu in English for different authentic Chinese dishes - portions are substantial -mountains on the plate-and everything tasty and fresh. The owners are from Chengdu -proper Szechuan cuisine - ask for the real Chinese food - you will not be disappointed. Again, I always see Chinese university students eating there - if that’s not a vote of approval what IS. Thank you!!!

Food is delicious. However, be carful with thew lady on the counter taking the money. She charged me more than what on the menu. I am sure this was not just an honest mistake. Just count your change. I believe this place have the best customer service anyway.

Order was due 17:25 came at 18:06 after I had called them to see what had happened?? No apology, there was nothing crispy about the 2 crispy dishes I ordered, the squid was like rubber in soggy batter same with the chicken, my children wouldn’t eat the chips that were over cooked then squashed and soggy the one enjoyable part was the seaweed which was lovely! But customer service and quality were shocking

Don't waste your time! Woman at front desk with cap on called Ewa supposedly the manager extremely rude and argumentative whilst we were asking about specific dishes. Ordered takeaway through just eat for the 2nd time from Wei Wei. Both times the food arrived much earlier than the time stated & was all hot & fresh. The portions are a very good size. My son ordered sweet & sour chicken balls & received 8 huge chicken balls that were all full of big chunks of chicken breast. The Kung Po tofu was delicious, as were the fried beansprouts. The curry was very tasty indeed. Will definitely order again & will probably eat in the restaurant too.

Ordered through just eat and we waited 45 mins as advised so once we we waited an hour and still no food we phoned and was told it was on the way without asking for our address. We then waited 10 mins and then phoned again and then was told the driver tried to deliver and left because he couldn’t find us then was told the driver would come back within 10 mins. After this we said no we don’t want cold food and cancel the order and then within 5 mins the driver was at our door saying the food was only ready 10 mins before and he picked it up with the food being cold No one knows what’s going on and argue on the phone with you even though you are the ones paying for this shocking service.

We spent about £25 of what I thought would have been really nice, I ordered a chicken&sweetcorn soup,chicken balls,egg fried rice and a chicken chow mein. When the delivery guy got here he didn’t knock on the door he rang us and was really rude. When we was unpacking our food we realised that what we asked for we didn’t get we asked for a chicken chow mein and didn’t get that we got something totally different with lots of mushrooms in it which my boyfriend is allergic to them he rang the takeaway and explained the situation the lady on the phone was rude he told her he had a allergy to mushrooms which she apologised for so she sent out another chicken chow mein however when it got here it was the same one from before with mushrooms in even though we had already told them about the allergy

Delivered late cold even after heating in both the oven and microwave still lousy through most of it away, despite telling the owner no refund or replacement so won’t use again.

If you are looking for English-style chinese, they have it, and it's excellent. If, however, you are looking for an authentic chinese kitchen, they have that, also, and it is Mind-Blowingly EXCELLENT. You just have to know what to order. E.g., Dan-Dan Mein, a pork noodle soup dish, is Superb. I've been to China and know. It's Sechuan cuisine, and, from Chengdu area. Do some research, ask for authentic dishes, not chips and hot-sour gravy, which is the UK chinese takeaway norm.

Wei Wei is my go-to restaurant for ordering takeaway. I've never had a problem with these guys, the food is delicious and the delivery time is always good.

Zero stars - this has to be the worst food I have ever tried to eat. It was so bad, I called them and told them so: brown, overcooked and squashed chips, inedible chicken balls, incinerated prawn toasts, I could go on. I like to be balanced, so the rice was ok. My response from Wei, Wei's was "We're sorry, the chef has gone home and we cannot cook you the food again." I explained that I would never want a meal from there again, but needed them to know that food like that should never leave a kitchen...and it was 45 minutes late and barely warm

I cannot tell you enough how disgusting the food was from Wei Wei, it was so bad, not only did it end up in the bin, but I called them to tell them what I thought of it. I expect nothing back, but they need to know that the people of Huddersfield will not accept food of such a poor quality, it is not to be tolerated. I did get told that they were sorry, I explained that such food should never be allowed to leave a kitchen. We ordered this take out via Big Foodie - I have let them know about the lack of quality from this takeaway restaurant.

We ordered a takeaway through bigfoodie. One of the meals did not come at all, and the vegetable spring rolls we ordered as a side dish did not have anything in them. They were just greasy pastry. When we phoned to complain the agressive and rude man on the line told us that is how their spring rolls came, and no-one had ever complained before that there was nothing inside them before. He was not prepared to provide us with a replacement meal as they were too busy.

We ordered 3 starters and main courses from this "restaurant" through the delivery site bigfoodie. One of the main courses did not arrive, and the vegetable spring rolls did not have any vegetables, or anything else, in them. They wever basically just greasy pastry. When we phoned up to complain, they said that they were too busy to provide the missing meal, and that is how their vegetable spring rolls come and they were very popular! The man I spoke to was very rude and agressive and was not willing to do anything about it.

I called up to place my order, roughly 3 minutes later I called to amend the order slightly, literally wanted chicken fried rice rather than egg fried rice. To be told my order had already been made ( in 3 minutes) and I couldn’t change it. He said everything was made and he was waiting for the driver to pick it up but it would still be another 45 minutes. After a quarrel I was told to F off and not order from there again. I would have given 0 stars if it was possible.

Waited nearly 2 hours for my take away. We ordered the food of the just eat app and was told it would be an hour. We had to call 6 times to see where the food was. The food finally arrived just warm. We were given a can of Dr Pepper as a way of apologising. WHAT A JOKE! Will not be ordering from them again.

Their food is really good and customer service is even better. The man who answers the phone is always accommodating when I mess about asking to change things on the set menu and he sometimes throws in free prawn crackers. I highly recommend.

Firstly - the food took 1 1/2 hours to come (3 mains, 3 starters). Secondly - the starters were all dry as a bone, overcooked and tasteless. The 'deep fried crab claws' were pretty much deep friend flour with fish flavour. The ribs were quite literally just the bone with a little sinew surrounding it and the nail in the coffin was that 2 out of 4 spring rolls didn't even have any filling - just pastry! Lastly - the mains were awful. Szechuan Duck had no flavour and was shrouded by chilli heat and some how half of the 'roast duck' was skin! Sweet BBQ Pork was the most edible purely for the fact that I like BBQ sauce but once again no flavour and I could have quite easily done a better job in 20 minutes! DO NOT consider eating here. Hands down the worst experience of any food I've had in Huddersfield.

Easy the best Chinese in Huddersfield been 100s of times and never once had a bad meal. also eaten in the restaurant it self. Safe where fine and food was even better than a takeaway got a lot more on your place.The only down fall is you no you have eaten something spicy the next day haha.

Looking around Huddersfield for ages for somewhere nice to take my partner for a birthday meal and came across this place. Really regret walking through the doors. Made feel very unwelcome by staff. Tried to find out about the menu and the guy spoke to us while speaking on a mobile phone in his own language. Ordered a meal and drink each. Both the drinks and food came out and were dumped on the table. Wanted to walk out but didn't fancy hunting Huddersfield for somewhere to eat as this is the first time in the area. The food was nice but we didn't enjoy it because of feeling so uncomfortable. (We were the only english people there) We quickly had our food and drink, played the bill and left. Totally tuned the evening.

My wife, son and myself ate here last Saturday evening. The restaurant is small and quite basic but the food is excellent and very reasonably priced. We were the only non Asian diners, There was a group of six Chinese lads, another group of four girls and a family of four. If it's well frequented by Asian community of Huddersfield, who am I to argue. We will certainly come again.The only drawback is that it is up a steep set of stairs, which makes it a bit of a bugger for an oldie like myself who suffers with arthritis, never the less they won't stop me from returning.

Disgusting, totally disgusting. I don't like spending 20 pounds on takeout to then sit and eat a bowl of cereal for dinner instead. Food was cold, burned, some even dried out like it was reheated and full of oil. The restaurant told both myself and JustEat that they didn't care about it and would not refund. DO NOT TRUST THEM - really late delivery and then did not deliver all our items that we had ordered and paid for, it was a large order but when i rang to tell them, they laughed and said they were really busy, i asked them to prioritise it as it was one of the children's meals and by then it was past bedtime and they said they couldn't becauses they had other orders out for delivery! Item was still never delivered that night or after that and they did not issue any refund.

Wei Wei in Huddersfield might be a little worn but it's great for a business lunch or a takeaway. The special fried rice is my usual dish and is satisfactorily tasty. The salt and pepper chips are also very nice. It's nothing special and the delivery service isn't the most reliable but the food is tasty and good value.

As long as you don't mind going upstairs and worn decor, the food is good and you can have authentic Chinese which is at the back of the menu. The Chinese students enjoy that, you can always ask about it if you don't know the difference. The English Chinese which we are used to is what you would expect with good portions.

We went to this place first time to eat in. The food was good, the duck and chicken and the usual chinese fare. And the portions are generous.... but a bit too sweet. The hotpot version seems to be good also which we did not order but saw some injoying it.. However, the service is a bit dire with the waitress not speaking english. Place is abit dingy also.

This was our first time at Wei Wei. The restaurant is upstairs, so not very accessible. The food was great - I was beginning to doubt I could find a good Chinese restaurant in Huddersfield. Very pleased we came. Good sized portions - couldn't finish all mine. Beautifully presented though. I had sweet and sour chicken balls, which were full of thick chicken. Best I've had since I moved here! Inside, it is clean and tidy, if a bit worn. The toilets are smart and clean. The place has a homely feel and a good atmosphere, seemed to be a meeting spot for Chinese students. The restaurant clearly did a good trade in takeaway as they seemed to be preparing deliveries between orders. Will come back again and hope to order take-out soon! Highly recommend.

We've used this place several times, eat in, take away and home delivery. The food is always good, especially eating in when it's freshly cooked and the portions are more generous. It's the only thing that made us give it the benefit of doubt time and time again.However, the service is dire. The guy who is always there serving and answering the phone is rude at best. Chinese customers are definitely and obviously favoured. Then what upsets me the most is that every single time we've used them, whether eat in or take away, we have been overcharged every time. And each time you question it there is an excuse or argument from this guy. It happens too often to be a mistake or coincidence, I'm now convinced it must be standard practice. And the guy is so rude and argues so much that in the end you give up. Even though I love the food, I can't deal with the appalling service anymore. Real shame.

When I came to this restaurant it had several Chinese diners already which is such a good sign.Service was rapid with drinks on the table after a couple of minutes. Menus are in English and a separate one in a Chinese language. Dishes are traditional fare though next time I will try the lobster which was being enjoyed at other tables.Prices are modest and quality good. Service excellent. The decor is very basic but with such cheap costs and large portions this was not a worry to our party!All in all a great cheap Chinese meal in modest surrounds a short walk from Huddersfield station.

There are a number of horror stories about this restaurant on Trip Advisor, not all of which are deserved. Still, let's start with the bad. It looks as though the restaurant is being redecorated. The carpets including the one on the stairs need replacing. The loos need replacing too (although working and reasonably clean) while the drier is exhausted. Access to the restaurant is by stairs only which is no good if you are in a wheelchair. One of the group members was sitting back to a window and felt quite cold. Double glazing would be nice. The restaurant also does take away with delivery. Not a bad thing but since restaurant staff also run the take away, you may be interrupted several times when you are trying to order by a phone call or 3. Now the good. We had 2 large tables for our group. Nearly all on our table ordered soup. My soup was nice. Plenty of meat and prawns in it and while hot, it was not overly so. My main was a Szechuan special with noodles. The dish was pretty tasty. The sauce was slightly too sweet and could have been a bit spicier. The noodles were nice and a good accompaniment to the dish. Large portion too. The chicken was quite soft, not as nice as one from a Sunday roast say. The king prawns on the other hand were very nice and there were quite a few of them. I enjoyed the selection of Chinese drinks that are varied and cheap (but the 2 I had were quite sweet). It was a good location for our group. There was Chinese music (pop) but not too loud so we could have conversation. I would happily return.

When I informed them they didn't seem interested at all they said sorry that was it until I said I was gonna make a tripadvisor, then and only then they offered one free dish off my next order. this is the worst restaurant that i have ever had the misfortune to enter in my entire life.i brought some colleagues to enjoy a quiet meal on entering the door no one approached us to sit us down or even acknowledged our presence.the waitress looked as though she would rather we had not arrived at all. the food did arrive promptly but it was the wrong dishes, whether it was down to the waitress or the chef not speaking English im not sure but when i asked for the food to be changed to what we had ordered the manager appeared and explained to me that i would need to pay for the dish that was prepared as he was not willing to change it for free. He shouted and raised his voice and told me that i could not come to his restaurant and waste his money...i politely tried to diffuse the situation but he continued to rant and said that if he found out where i worked he would "mess my life up" and intimidate me and smash my car windows (my car was parked outside) i take as a verbal threat!!!!after being thoroughly embarrassed and now in tears and unwilling to pay for the dish which had arrived but that which was not the dish i had ordered we all decided to leave while the manager still was shouting.i will never ever go there again and i advise all of you to avoid this place like the plague the food is at best mediocre but pricey the service terrible and the manager abusive and rude. if a great chinese is what your looking for i suggest royal city in moldgreen,on a weekday a buffet all you can eat and good service.

We get takeaways from here which we've always enjoyed, but we've now been put off ever getting them from here again. We visited the restaurant for lunch and were shocked. What a tip! There were boxes everywhere and hundreds of bags of prawn crackers stacked up in a corner. The carpet didn't look like it had been vacuumed for weeks. All it needs is some decent table cloths, some slightly less tacky decorations and a good spring clean. There's now't wrong with the food so get rid of the junk and clean this place up....... PLEASE!!

Came recommended from my Brother who still lives in Huddersfield - the place itself is nothing to look at, but who cares? - The food and service was great. Will definitely return when I'm next in town

Went there this evening after a long and stressful day expecting to take away some good comfort food. The issue that really irritated me was that after I paid for my order I was left standing in the front of the restaurant without any sort of acknowledgement that I was there. Basically after I handed over my money not a word was said to me nor did they seem to care that I was there. I was not informed how long it would take to complete my order and I very much felt in the way and pretty much not wanted. The air was thick with tension, it was so bad that at one point I politely left as I'm not one for confrontations but then found the courage to go back since I had already paid for the food (student on a budget). I am not saying that you should not go there but I'd be surprised if you received at the very least, sufficient customer service.

Went once last year, it was okay. If you dont mind the fact that it looks like youre sat in a 1* Blackpool B&B.. the food itself was nice and fairly quick :)

Been here twice, and both times had hot pot. Wonderful to find this in Huddersfield.Food tasty, portions generous. Perhaps not the most efficient or smooth service in the world, but made up for with quality of food.

We chose a table that we regular use, a lady waitress is so miserable and seriously got attitude problem! The food was so greasy, smaller portion than before, now they charge 10% eating in and the writing about it is soooo small can barely read it, the atmosphere was tense and it was my husbands birthday! It used to be the best Chinese we've ever been to but now we are not going again in the future! We are going somewhere else!

I ordered a vegetarian dish from here and I was really enjoying it and said to my partner it was best Chinese id had in a while and then I came across a small piece of meat, so I looked through and found few more pieces and when told waiters was told it was carrot, eventually I got made a fresh one which had no taste to it at all and I didn't eat as was disgusting

Great place for a quick meal before going to the theatre. Also good for groups. Food is tasty and portions are generous.

The food is absolutely lush the portion size is big and the price is fair! Been there couple times, the staff is very nice and helpful, the only thing is the restaurant need to be update but it didnt put me off eating there :) and I will definitely be going back again :)
