Never had an issue before used many times but after ordering a meal for the family last night I have been ill which I can only put down to something in the sweet and sour sauce, chicken balls or salt and pepper crispy chicken as the other members of my family are ok as they had other dishes. I spent a most unpleasant night with stomach cramps and other symptoms which I won't go into but suffice to say it has wiped me out completely and I am still suffering today so I will not be using Mei's again, which is a shame as the food has always been spot on. I just hope I recover enough for work tomorrow.

We like their box meals - very good value - in the round containers. Decent choice and plenty for most appetites.

Didn’t want to cook so ordered one of their box meals for one. Had sweet n sour pork, egg fried rice with sesame prawn toast as an extra. Plenty for one and couldn’t fault it. They also do other box meals, eg, curry, which are great too. Will definitely be back. Cheaper and nicer than fish and chips or a burger!

I thought I would give mei's Kitchen a go, Me and the wife were so disapointed. My wifes sweet and sour HK was dry and tasted as if they had used malt viniga and my sweet and sour chicken balls were soft and chewy and again tasted as if it was old oil (very old.) the two large spring rolls were thrown in the bin before we got round to eating them as they two were soft and well over cooked. People say oh they must have had a bad day but in the catering trade a bad day can ruin a restaurant, If it wasn't for the fact i live out of town I would have taken it back, instead I will not be ordering again from them..such a shame and a let down..

I have tried most of the takeaways in Gainsborough, but Mei's is the best. The food is always freshly prepared and flavourful and arrives piping hot if delivered. Would definitely recommend.

Tofu floating in flavourless oil. Worst take away I’ve had.

Having ordered the Chinese by telephone and 6 phone calls later it finally arrived nearly 3 hours after ordering . Subsequently I can only describe the meat as like the leather on sole of my shoe . The chicken wings were almost desiccated and the smell and taste were very overwhelming if this is appealing to you then crack on

Firstly I asked for plain noodles and they sent me noodles with vegetables. I called to ask about this and they said I had to specify that I wanted no veg? I’m sorry but if I ask for plain, I mean plain, so just a note to improve on. But let me get into the chicken: I ordered the sweet and sour chicken balls (the sauce tasted medicinal it was gross) and the special chow mein (which also had chicken in). The chicken was ELASTIC. Yes so when you bite into it, it would STRETCH, and if you couldn’t bit a piece off it would recoil 🤢🤢. The chicken in the special chow mein wasn’t as elastic but it still had an off taste and texture. The beef was also very chewy and the pork was extremely dry. I also ordered mini vegetable spring rolls which were mostly undercooked batter on the inside (but could have been potato, not 100% sure, either way had a soft texture, which was lacking in vegetables. Overall, I would avoid this place, at the very least avoid the chicken.

Easy to call them and order. It always arrives fresh and hot, quality of food is good and does offer good value for money.
