Hung Wang in West Lindsey

Firstly I asked for plain noodles and they sent me noodles with vegetables. I called to ask about this and they said I had to specify that I wanted no veg? I’m sorry but if I ask for plain, I mean plain, so just a note to improve on. But let me get into the chicken: I ordered the sweet and sour chicken balls (the sauce tasted medicinal it was gross) and the special chow mein (which also had chicken in). The chicken was ELASTIC. Yes so when you bite into it, it would STRETCH, and if you couldn’t bit a piece off it would recoil 🤢🤢. The chicken in the special chow mein wasn’t as elastic but it still had an off taste and texture. The beef was also very chewy and the pork was extremely dry. I also ordered mini vegetable spring rolls which were mostly undercooked batter on the inside (but could have been potato, not 100% sure, either way had a soft texture, which was lacking in vegetables. Overall, I would avoid this place, at the very least avoid the chicken.

After a terrible experience with another Chinese in the area , I am so glad I found hung wang this evening. It was delivered within 35 mins, absolutely stunning food. The fried seaweed is top tier and the spicy soup , not had better 🍜 👌🏻 Portion sizes massive, il eat just as much tomorrow 😋

Great takeaway, food is always good, tasty and plentiful, always give you extras, can't recommend them enough 😋

Got a takeaway delivered for the second time. Absolutely delicious. Definitely the best chinese around

Ahhhhh I just ordered a takeout and found a hair in our food!! We have had numerous takeouts from here so it’s a shame this happened but we won’t be returning again…….

Usually really happy with the food, quality and service from here. Last night however I had some sort of metal in my meal.

This is by far the best Chinese take away in Gainsborough and one of the best I have ever had. £9.99 for a starter share box prawn toast, wan tans, satay chicken skewers, seaweed and pancakes absolutely lovely. The meal was slightly late and we got free pancakes and prawn toast and 2 drinks with the meal. Great quality and not bland like some Chinese take aways, good portions plenty of meat in the dishes. Highly recommended.

Allan was a superb Christmas miracle baby, delivering my hung wang on this chilly Christmas evening. The noodles here are soft and genuinely flavourful I really recommend them though their actually fire. Hung Wangs salt and pepper chicken made my hung balls stand on end. Yummy yummy yumma. Man I need some hung wang in my tum. In all seriousness, hung wang is brilliant for family occasions and birthdays. If you have any unplanned abortions, bar mitzvah’s or circumcisions come to hung wang. They’ll sket you out.

We asked for a order tonight for delivery , it’s my husband’s birthday and we had all the family round everything was made so easy the delivery driver took the order he was brill , and the food was absolutely delicious thank you so much we will call again Waggy Tail Farm Saundby

My sister was up at half 5 in the morning being sick. She's never ill. But the food had really not agreed with her and her tummy had been unsettled. She went to bed early which was odd and then felt awful. Food poisoning maybe.

Was alright, nothing exciting like my usual Chinese back in my home city. The chicken balls were nice, but the chips were dry, the prawn crackers were dry, the noodles were a bit wet somehow. Did the job to fill me up though I guess. Expected better and bigger from a place called Hung Wang

1st order with this company. Very disappointed! Ordered for a specific delivery time and it finally arrived half an hour late. Food was cold and had to reheat in the microwave. Sorry, but I will not be ordering from here again.

Usually I would have given more stars however the past 2 times I've ordered the rice is over cooked to the point that you can't eat .£17.90 later feel like I've wasted my money

had no problems until last night chips were stale as can be with an assortment of old chips and the chicken was tough seems as tho bin cooked a long time or reheated and i had to ring back up becas no bottle of pop was delivered but i had paid iv got to wait till next time now to get my coke but in all honesty they can keep it as i don't want to risk throwing my money away and being let down its not cheep ether and my food was inedible in my opinion and i walked to the shop for some thing for my tea as i was unable to folk out for another take away very unhappy left me skint and hungry i'm even thinking of ringing trading standers i was that peed off unfit foods 4 years on and i have ordered again i fergot about the bad order i had 4 years ago and i was told 45 mins and its been 130 mins and still waiting

Hung Wang is great if you appreciate really BIG portions. Don't mistake this place for smaller wangs, some of which barely touch the sides. Hung Wang fills you up big time.

Our food was 2.5hrs late and when it finally came our chicken was under cooked 🤮 finally got through to someone after ringing for half an hour to say we want refund and don’t want the food due to long wait we got told I can’t request a refund til Monday because it was online order and it’s upto us if we accept the delivery when it arrives, didn’t get any apology just got told that their busy and it’s on the way , we accepted it when it arrived 5 to 11 only to start eating and finding out chicken was luke warm inside and under cooked but by that time they were shut and not even able to take it back to them or ring them to let them know as phone just went to voicemail, as if getting under cooked chicken isn’t bad enough I’m 6 months pregnant and bit into it which is so dangerous 🤢 avoid at all costs !! Absolutely appalling ! I’ve kept the chicken and will be reporting them !

AVOID! Not only did they send me the wrong order but they blamed me for their mistake 🤣 and charged me twice for food I never once said I wanted. They sent 4 people to my house at gone 11pm to intimidate me and bully me into paying for an order I never wanted. Avoid this place!

Worst customer service ever! Unfortunately the person taking my order wrote my order down wrong. When it arrived I called to explain and they offered a small partial refund as their delivery driver was due to finish for the night. I offered to pay the £3.50 delivery fee as a gesture of goodwill to encourage them deliver the order I had placed almost 2 hours prior. At just gone 11pm a car full of people turned up to my house demanding the full price of the food. I tried to explain that’s not what had been agreed, the delivery people (there was 4 of them) immediately got visably agaitated and aggressive towards me and insisted it was my fault I got the order wrong and I should have to pay the full amount, again. As well as the delivery fee. When I tried to call the restaurant to resolve the matter I was hung up on. I will be returning my incorrect food order to them tomorrow for a full refund and have to go hungry for the night as it’s too late to order from elsewhere and I only have gift vouchers to use.

Tried hung wang a few weeks ago and throughly enjoy it portion sizes were good and very tasty it certainly deserved the second visit and again wasnt disappointed

All of the main meal dishes are congealed with a very nasty taste, like sterile washing up liquid Special Satay, Special with Crispy Noodles, inedible. Meat and prawns very bad quality. Sweet and Sour sauce, didn't taste home made, batter more like doughnuts. Possibly the worst iv had.

Order got delivered with the wrong food in. Luke warm at best. Chips are hilariously overcooked. Rice is clumped together. When the correct food got delivered suspiciously quickly, I expected something else to be wrong and I was right, chicken is sopping wet and raw! Peas were under cooked, shredded beef was tasteless. Wouldn't be surprised if it was microwaved food. Would NOT recommend.

Always order Chinese from here but after waiting an hour and 20 minutes for the food we telephone them to be told it hadn't even been started !!! An hour for delivery it said online. If they were busy they shouldn't have been taking online orders they couldn't have ready. Obviously cancelled the order but very disappointed

Had quite a few takeaways and very big orders on birthdays and other occasions with family and friends and never had a bad meal, always hot very generous portions and very good service ,we haven't had anything at all to complain about even our friends have been really impressed, up to now we can't fault it in anyway. Thankyou for good takeaways.

Food was disgusting? Pretty sure it's microwaved too 🤢 first order was stone cold so they sent another after I complained, and the rice was rock hard and all clumped together the chips just awful and the deep fried shredded beef tastes vile and is luke warm still. Safe to say its been binned and I'm getting a refund. Won't be ordering from there again will stick with China chef.....

Absolute joke of a takeaway orderd food at around 6.30 then had to ring at nearly 7.50 to see where it was to be told it hadn't even started being cooked yet and they couldn't tell me when it would arrive.... Rude phone staff telling me to stop shouting when I was merely asking if she could guarantee it would be here within 20min.... Absolutely no way to run a business avoid at all costs... I will never use again

Have been coming here for years. Always great hot food and good potion sizes. Prices are very good. Delivery if used has always been very reasonable about 15 mins. We often get a few free items to try. Never had any problems and the staff always very friendly and helpful. As the title says we love this place..

Mushy wet chow mien wasn’t very good at all Chips was triple cooked Been before for eat in meal was far better than this Given a small free box of nibbles in the bag which was nice of them but my main course was very poor soggy / over cooked

Stayed at a local holiday cottage and ordered from here - definitely a mistake. The Salt and Pepper chicken had no flavour at all and certainly no spice. It was just battered chicken with half a chilli on it. The beef and cashews was equally flavourless but at least the beef was tender. Service was friendly and polite and I can't fairly comment on the prices because the food wasn't good enough to talk about value for money.

Zero starts poor customer service and they always get your order wrong after you have confirmed with them about 5 times. Don't waste your money here the food is left overs from yesterday. Cook at home instead it's better and safer. I won't be returning again.

Ordered 7.40 pm online 40min wait ok... rang at 8.45 to be told 20 mins. Rang again at 9.05pm told just left shop..... cancelled 9.25 we only live up th hills arrived 9.45 we sent them away 2 hrs wait is terrible service I know it’s bank holiday but no way should you have to wait 2 hrs never use again.....

Enjoyed our takeaway here, tasty and plentiful amount. Only downside is the missed an item on my order which I had to pick up again, nevertheless it was still good.

Ordered English meal ROAST chicken and got fillets in batter that were stringy and stretched slightly? The gravy was like burnt soy sauce, made my own, got a free bag of prawn toast and won ton? Where was my cola? Why was I running to the toilet this morning? The menu is in the bin! Been happy before but last night was disgusting, never again

Made a straight forward takeaway order that came quickly (ordered in the shop) was clear when ordering and had correct order read back. 4 mains, x 2 egg fried rice and x 2 portions of chips. When we got home 4 miles away we soon found there were no chips. No big deal but we were over charged £4.40. Four main and rice was £27 from menu and I paid £31.40. Shame as food was fairly good and tasty but obviously not good value as a simple oversight made us pay more than we got. Didn't bother to ring as not worth the hassle to rectify but will probably not order from Hung Wang again now so you have lost our future custom. Mistakes happen but this was a dumb one.

Visited this place last week. The lady serving was rude. I had ordered chicken Chow Mein, egg fried rice, chicken curry and chips. When I got the food home and opened the containers the chips had clearly been reheated more than once. Then I played a game of 'spot the chicken 'in' both main dishes. Just liquid and the occasional very small piece of chicken. Chicken looked like the stuff Tesco's sell in frozen bags. This was my first and last time I will go there.

Stop here quite often for a chinese on the way in from a day out, reasonable prices, good food and quick service.

Tried to book a table for 76 birthday. It was closed on that Sat why? out of the Chinese in Gainsborough this is the only one with a restaurant. The poor rating is not for food but for service.

When you fancy a Chinese take away you can't get much better than Hung Wang. tip- pick up, In busy periods it might be difficult to find anywhere to park close by though.

Greeted with a smile when you walk in. Easy to order, quick preparation, free prawn crackers and above all delicious.

Takeaway great and restaurant is outstanding! unfortunately not open often but if it is then definitely stop in as polite friendly staff good atmosphere and clean last time I went. Am looking forward to going back

Been going to Hung Wang for many years, never had a complaint until now. Placed an order online, only to realise when it arrived part of our order was missing. On ringing the restaurant to explain what had happened and to try and get a solution, the lady on the phone was very rude and unbelievably cocky. Demanding that you whole order had been packed, when it clearly hadn’t. We needed up paying for items we did not have, yet they were adamant they were right. Will never be returning again.

Have food from this takeaway and I have never been disappointed. Good selection of food. Delivery service available too.

Ordered food it came soggy and greasy we didn't touch it. Rang them to get our money back was told to ring just eat to get money back and then was told by just eat that hung Wang had refused to give us it. I will not be going there ever again.

Visiting Hung Wang as part of a large group on a set meal. The food was great and the service was good even given the two large groups in the restaurant at the time. There was not much left of the starters, crispy duck and or the main dishes at the end. This was our second visit here and hopefully not our last.

I've only had takeaways from here,but by all accounts the restaurant is also outstanding. They always "tweak" dishes for me,especially when it comes to wanting extra fresh chilli! Go on give them a go,you certainly won't be disappointed.

Went on a Saturday night without booking but no problem getting a table as it was not very busy , the girl serving was very good and attentive , we ordered spare ribs to share for a starter at £6.50 i thought 3 small spare ribs was a bit mean and pricey also the salt and chilli chips at £3.70 was a small portion and obviously frozen chips that had been cooked before ,One of the mains we had was special Satay it was ok but the Chicken in the dish was the re constituted type , It seems like the only sit down Chinese in Gainsborough but doubt if we would return .

A lovely Chinese restaurant with a takeaway alongside. The facilities are spotless with friendly and efficient staff and a wide selection of sensibly priced food and set menus available. I have never been disappointed with the quality and presentation of meals or the service.

Wow lovely stuff...had menu B + chicken chow mein..prawn toast.. Chips and a curry sauce..30 quid well spent..enough for a family of 4 and plenty more for next day..which having just polished off the last of the special fried rice n curry is just as good the day after....I'll be back soon.

Always use Hung Wang for takeaway but we decided to take a walk and use the restaurant for a change. The food and service was excellent. Decor is clean and tidy and staff very friendly. Let's hope it stays open as in never seems busy.

Normally always visit hung wang as not had a problem with them, until 14th of July we ordered our usual meal set menu b, ordered around 7pm and came about 7.15pm granted it is a set menu which usually get delivered quickly, just found that was too quick , food not good at all, bean sprouts disgusting! Can’t describe the taste to them other than chemical tasting , the rest of the meal just tasted like it had been reheated , I emailed the shop straight away they informed me that this is now the way they cook the bean sprouts , and said if I don’t like how crunchy they are I can specify the amount of time I would like them to be cooked for, I stated that the amount of time they had been cooked was not the problem it was the foul taste of them, as I said we visit all the time and never tasted like this, in a way I wished they had just said it was a one off sorry, but as they said it was because they had changed the way they now cook them I have not ordered from there again , had to go else where which is a shame as we can’t stomach that taste again

Very tasty food, excellent service, pleasant surroundings. I'm amazed it's not busier than it is, they opened up just for us which was good in one way but didn't give much of an atmosphere

Not sure whats going on behind the scenes here, but they have messed our order up twice now, not happy. The second time the owner said it was our fault, not sure how really. Was our regular takeaway but it's time to go elsewhere.

Good food in double quick time particularly in the takeaway. I recommend the crispy aromatic duck, the sweet and sour chicken and the Singapore rice.

The meal was ordered over the phone and 15 mins later was ready to go - we were extremely dissapiunted on this occasion and won’t be going anytime soon , the food has really gone down hill, lacking in flavour , and quality , the spring rolls were stone cold yet full of grease , really put us of eating the meal which wasn’t cheap at 25-00 , as we ended up wasting it all ..
