Easy to call them and order. It always arrives fresh and hot, quality of food is good and does offer good value for money.

I don’t normally leave reviews , but I really enjoyed my Chinese that I felt like I had to. I’ve struggled to find a nice Chinese in Gainsborough after having some bad experiences at some other local Chinese which I won’t name. I was losing hope of ever having a decent Chinese local to me. The meal from china chef arrived before the estimated time , it was very hot. The dishes were tasty. Wandering dragon, special fried rice, beef fried rice, chicken balls. All Dishes were lovely, the meat was all cooked lovely. No complaints, very happy.

Ordered special chow mein. Might aswell of just been a dish of noodles. Food is very poor

I dont normally write reviews or complain. Generally EVERY time we go to china chef its good. However tonight we ordered and where do i begin? We ordered half chps half rice, Wontons, Chicken chow mein and curry sauce. Half the chips were undercooked in the half and half. There was a long hair either in the rice or curry sauce (unsure as she mixed togethe, (which i know wasnt mine as my partner sorted her own food plate and she has short hair). The wontons were overcooked. The only meal that was brilliant was the chicken chow mein and the prawn crackers.

Lovely service, delicious food and reasonably priced. This is my go to Chinese takeaway, and it always delivers great food.

We have been using China chef afew months as recommended by a friend.. Always found the food reasonable sometimes salty.. However when they start to charge £5 delivery is time to move when Beijing kitchen have better star rating and only charge £2 delivery. Sorry guys but the charges have gone up which now equivalents to an extra dish.

Called to pick up a takeaway on our way home. We’d never been and it was a choice of several in the area. Glad we picked it. Service was good and quick and the food was still hot when we got home. They added a bit of extra spice as I’d requested and I think it’s the best Chinese takeaway I’ve had in a long time. I’d certainly recommend them and even though they don’t deliver to us I will certainly be back.

Normally I have no problems but the other night I rang regarding undercooked chicken balls. Waiting for a phone call back which never happened and didn't get a refund.

chips were heavily the seasame toast was amazing and the rice was pretty good overall the food was amazing and I will definitely order them again

recently ordered from china chef for the first time today, just got back and the food is amazing! i will definitely be ordering here from now on. the salt pepper chips are the best!

In the last two months have been disappointing Very small amount of chicken amongst noodles. Also in house special two prawns , three small pieces pork and three unrecognisable bits of beef maybe. Used to be excellent

Never had any issues with China chef, everything is always spot on. Staff are always polite! I order probably 2/3 a month, and I'll never go anywhere else! Highly recommended!

2 hours for a food delivery. Doesn't matter how the food is, that's ridiculous. Never again.

I ordered a family set meal last night (currently eating the leftovers this morning). I don't always leave reviews but as I was eating it last night and now, I'm thinking "this the best Chinese I've had in ages!" Decent size portions, plenty of meat in the dishes, all really flavoursome. I especially like the crispy shredded beef, the batter was genuinely crispy. Its great value too, especially for the set meals. On top of this, the staff are all really friendly too, particularly the lady that often answers the phone when I order. This is my go-to Chinese from now on.

Ordered food tonight at 5pm, website said it would take 2hours to be delivered. 7.25 still no food so ring up, told it would be 30mins max. 8.15 still no food, ring yet again, to be told it will be another 20mins. Went to collect in the end, finally got the food at 8.45, by this time we weren't really hungry. Food wasn't great anyway, chips overcooked, salt & pepper chicken was barely cooked, beef in the curry was chewy and tasteless. We order most weeks, but won't be in the future.

All Gainsborough Chinese takeaway ‘s are hit and miss, but i feel like I’ve dived into a salt mine with my mouth wide open, with this one!!! I like Star Wars, but Chewy takes on a whole new meaning, if you happen to order the beef… The chips must have been bathing for a few hours prior to delivery, as they were wrinklier than a Shar Pei and drier than the sands of time… 👀 A generous 2⭐️’s, due to a delivery driver who could challenge Lewis Hamiltons world title haul….

So slow to actually get food delivered(1hour 15minutes) and then it turns up just warm i was almost tempted to microwave the chips, not impressed at all the service has gone down hill in recent months.

Started Ordering Food From Here,After Our Usual Was Closed. What Can I Say...Staff Are Very Polite,And You Can Have A Good Old Natter And A Laugh. Food Is Delicious,You Get Bags Of Freebies ie Prawn Toast,Spring Rolls Etc.. And Ofcourse Fortune Cookies ( My Daughter Loves Getting These) Takeaway Is Clean And Tidy. You Are Not Waiting Long Either,And Your Food Is Always Cooked Perfectly And Piping Hot. 5⭐

Love Chinese - Love China Chef. Of all the local Chinese Takeaways I have tried these are by far my favourite. Food comes quickly and is still piping hot. House special satay is full of meat and tastes amazing. Highly recommended.

The best Chinese around. Moved to retford and tried them all. Not a patch on this place, food always consistent. Shame they dont deliver you retford. But the drive out is worth it.

Had a set meal - B for home delivery and the food was really tasty, hot on arrival and good portions. Best Chinese we have found in the area and will definitely order again. The freeby spring rolls and prawn cracker was a nice touch, thank you.

Usually very good, but need to improve with their delivery time scales. Told 2 hours tonight but waited nearly 3. Had I known it was going to take 3 hours I would have gone elsewhere. Not the first time, usually at least 15 mins outside their delivery time.

Was looking forward to our first takeaway since the pandemic started. Pancake rolls where nice but not very hot. Sweet and Sour Chicken balls with egg fried rice where standard. The point is for the above. Also ordered Singapore chow mein. It was Awful. One spoon full was enough for anyone . It tasted like neat curry powder. It also looked like it had been cooked about three weeks ago. Phoned the takeaway and all I got was oh well what a shame sorry!!!! Never again. We have had meals from here before which have been okay, but to wait almost two hours and then get this rubbish and a half hearted apology.

Our usual chinese takeaway tonight was closed so we decided to go with china chef OMG fantastic food great service and we will be visiting you from now on Thank you

I was extremely disappointed with china chef tonight we have order from there restaurant many times in the past so feel we are valued customers they got my order wrong and when I phoned up to enquire about it I was spoken to in a very rude manner they tried to blamed me for there mistake she ended the phone call ( next time listen) I'm sorry but there wont be a next time. To add to this awful experience the food was cold by the time the rice arrived and was very dry with not alot of flavour. We will no longer be ordering food from this chinese.

This is our new place to go for Chinese takeaway. Used three times and each time the food has been very good and delivery has been earlier than expected.

Always good food only downside is we collect and after being given a time can still be sat waiting ten minutes otherwise cannot fault it.

We went tonight for the first time and have to say the food was excellent and very polite and the service was nice.

Worst chinese food I've ever tasted, and I have been to hundreds of restaurants and take aways in my life. Any good reviews you see, are either written by themselves, or by very immature palates. Take my advice and stay well clear.

Even before it was called China Chef,I have always used this excellent Chinese takeaway. A great choice of fresh ingredients all add up to a fabulous meal.

One word. Rank. Wouldnt feed this crapola to my dogs. Awful just awful.

Went for the first time to this establishment for takeaway food. Ordered easily through just eat and arrived at the time stated. Food was ready to collect. Food was excellent, hot, tasty and plentiful, maybe a bit salty for my taste. This rates as one of the best takeaway meals I have ever had. Thank you.!

Ok nothing to rave about! Dry chips and Kung PO chicken all stuck together. Maybe try the other dishes!

Having to wait nearly two hours for delivery is rubbish service!

Ordered a takeaway tonight and they send me out the wrong order , so delivery driver phoned them I spoke to them saying they delivered the wrong order and they say no it was right , I checked my order and yes it was wrong , as sweet and sour chicken balls look nothing like crispy chill chicken , one upset pregnant woman , WON'T BE ORDERING FROM HERE AGAIN ..

Delivered order 2 hours early which wasn't convenient due to work, also didn't even give is any prawn crackers even though I asked for them. First time I've ordered from them, not impressed.

Always liked Chinese food and they don't come much better.

Ordered some food to be delivered it was at the door piping hot within 25 minutes. Food was delicious, they also sent freebies with the meal which was so enjoyed. Will return

By far the best Chinese takeaway in town. Usually throw in some freebies if you spend over a certain amount too.
