The best restaurants in United Kingdom serving Chinese food

Food was 3 and half hours late, arrived at 10:15pm, way too late to eat. Tried to phone for an update or to cancel but went to answerphone with a message stating they were closed. Turned the food away as it was too late by then to eat it. Won't be using again.

On Friday night, I had the pleasure of visiting Porth Palace Chinese Takeaway, and while I’ve been to many takeaways in the Rhondda Cynon Taf area, the level of service I received from the young boy at the counter truly stood out. From the moment I stepped in, he greeted me with a warm and genuine smile, setting a welcoming tone for the entire visit. Despite the busy atmosphere, he remained calm, professional, and incredibly efficient, ensuring every customer was served promptly while maintaining a friendly and approachable attitude. What impressed me most was his attention to detail. He took my order with care, double-checking it to ensure everything was correct. Unlike many places where staff can seem rushed or uninterested, he took the time to engage in polite conversation, making the experience feel more personal. Even when faced with a queue of customers, he didn’t let the pressure affect his service. He managed to balance speed and quality, ensuring no one felt neglected. His work ethic and enthusiasm were refreshing, and it was clear that he genuinely cared about providing excellent customer service. It’s rare to come across young staff members who display such professionalism, politeness, and efficiency, especially in a fast-paced environment like a busy takeaway on a Friday night. I hope his efforts are recognized because he is a true asset to the business. If the service I received that night is anything to go by, Porth Palace is fortunate to have him on their team. A fantastic experience that deserves to be acknowledged!

Awful. From the smell in the takeaway itself to the so called food that was provided. How places like this stay in business I don’t know. They are taking the Mickey. I won’t visit here again.

Phoned to order a takeaway. Two chicken curries one extra hot breast chicken only two fried rice only to get told by the women they have legs as well. I replied it was the white chicken I wanted her reply was that we better leave it and hung the phone up on me. She was very rude in her attitude, I have been going to this Chinese takeaway from when they opened which is a lot of years will not be going back and will be telling all my family and friends. Think she should take a course in customer service skills because she obviously hasn’t done one before

I have been looking for great Thai food everywhere. In America, there was a Thai restaurant that I Missed dearly..since then I have been on a voyage to find something atleast close to my beloved restaurant in Florida...well.. . EVERYONE. I FOUND IT. Thai thai's Pad Thai Noodles are phenomenal. The spice is PERFECT and it is All cooked perfectly and fresh. The Satay sauce (peanut sauce) is a MUST. The duck fried rice will make you swoon...hoooyahhh. The Pork ribs have an amazing bbq sauce..the flavors are out of this world. They were also not overly sauce.. however meticulously and thoroughly done. The meat just falls off the bone. Anytime me and my twinsoul and family come through.we will be coming here. ah-Maze-balls..fanny frickin tastic. Thank you!!!

Do not order salt and pepper chicken from this place!taste like they've just generally mixed so many cleaning products and when I rang back their were rather cheeky towards me however we had eaten everything else with our food and they told me they wanted all the food back to examine when it was just the chicken?customer service was awful I also work in a Chinese myself and I would never speak to customers the way they spoke to me tonight it was out of order and very disrespectful

Fantastic food. Not cheap but quality was excellent and staff are a delight. Some of the best Chinese food I have ever had.

Recommended to us while we were on holiday in the area. Food was hot and tasty just what we needed after a long day shopping.

The food is nice - not the best in town - but it’s not worth it for how long you have to wait. What’s worse is that they always mis-estimate how long it’ll be leading to sitting on those horrible benches waiting for 30-40 minutes beyond the time you were told to collect. I’ll be going elsewhere in future.

I am currently in bed with food poisoning after eating chicken wings from here yesterday. Our normal one was closed so we tried this . Within two hours I was in agony with stomach pains and vomiting. It was confirmed by a doctor it was good poisoning this morning. Avoid at all costs

Salt & pepper chicken was a rock hard lump when we opened it. My son couldn’t eat it, it was that bad the small piece he did try eat he couldn’t even bite through and tasted of no chicken at all. The chips to go with this were very over cooked & ended up in the bin. The sausage dinner was the same chips where over cooked and couldn’t be chewed & the sausages where like rubber. Soup wasn’t great either. All ended up in the bin apart from the prawn crackers which where the only things edible.

My food was ready to collect when I called in had wanted something I hadn't tried before and chose satay beef and fried rice. It was hot but I liked it and would order it again, might choose chicken next time.

We have used this take away for many years now, quick delivery even when really busy, always arrives hot and freshly cooked. Very good Chinese indeed. Great value for money.

Wow wow wow - this place never fails me. Hands down the best Chinese food in Hucknall. So I’m a little fussy and not mad for big chucks of fresh onion - every time the personalise my order perfectly! 10/10 - lovely food - hot and tasty
