The food is nice - not the best in town - but it’s not worth it for how long you have to wait. What’s worse is that they always mis-estimate how long it’ll be leading to sitting on those horrible benches waiting for 30-40 minutes beyond the time you were told to collect. I’ll be going elsewhere in future.

Super friendly service with great food freshly cooked. From one dish to many it's always piping hot and super tasty

Have used this place for years, not too regularly, perhaps every 2-3 weeks, but Chinese is our favourite take-away. Always good service, fair prices and cooked to order.

Semi-regular customer here. The food is always decent but we’ve often had to wait a long time, 20 minutes plus longer than what we’re told on the phone. Even when ordering to collect in an hour’s time we’ve still had to wait when we arrive. On one occasion found egg shell in a dish, reported this and the owner gave us our next meal free, which was a show of good customer service.

Although I couldn’t get through on the telephone to order, I decided just to go in and order, thinking it would take forever as it appeared busy, but it didn’t, very friendly person took my order and it was ready within 25 minutes! The food was delicious, looking forward to the next takeaway soon.

Came here for the first time and ordered a chicken noodle and chicken balls. It was delicious and the chicken was so tender and juicy. The workers were also friendly. Will come again soon :)

The food here is Chinese in name, but very much in evidence are the cheap ingredients, such as diced frozen vegetables which have no place in a decent takeaway. The beef Chow Mien tasted of gravy, more akin to what you would expect on a Sunday roast. The pancake rolls were bland, the chicken was tasteless, crispy chilli beef was soft and fatty with no kick, and nothing tasted even remotely authentic. The rice was ok, and the young chap serving was very polite, and there were local papers and nationals to read. Look, don't get me wrong, if you're not well travelled, and you like cheap English pub grub you will probably enjoy the food, but it's lacking authenticity, it's far too fatty, and the Chinese over the road serves a far better meal with a lot more flavour for the same cost. Myself, my wife and my son and his friend who were staying over all felt rather disappointed.

Excellent food as usual. Had friends around and we opted for Chinese. Had to go there as they weren't answering phone which was a let down but the food made up for that.

I used to be a regular at this takeaway, and it used to be excellent, has it changed management? Chicken curry....some pale chicken (which tasted weird) floating around in a glutinous, bright yellow sauce. 3 peas and 5 chunks of onion. Tasted foul. Congealed within 10 minutes. Sauce came out of a tin maybe? Satay beef.... chunks of beef thrown on top of about a millimetre of saucy that tasted of.....nothing! Literally no taste at all. Hard chips. Over cooked rice. The rest of the dishes all the same.....tasteless and lacking in everything really! Threw all of it away after the first few mouthfuls. Will not be bothering again. Waste of money.

Always difficult to make a choice on a Chinese takeaway as it seems there's a huge divide on good/bad experiences. Plumped for the Golden bridge even though we had no menu when ordering. Ultimately all Chinese takeaways offer the same thing don't they!!! Ordering was as per expected really. The usual issues you get with every takeaway, slight curtness and there's always the feeling they don't understand you. On arrival, collection was normal, food was ready and hot. When tasting, was it brilliant? - it was average. It came in nice reusable plastic pots though so always a bonus. Don't get me wrong, it was all OK! Not bad, but not fantastic. Would I order again - probably, but in no rush!

Love this restaurant. The service has always been pleasant and reasonably fast.there is plenty of seating while you wait and the food is hot, tasty and well cooked. I've always had all items and correct charges. I would recommend this place any time :)

What used to be a good Chinese has seriously gone downhill. The food looked, felt and tasted like it had come out of a packet, not at all fresh. I just wasted £30 but the only good thing about that is I WONT be going back!

Definitely not the best Chinese ever but significantly better than On Bong across the road. Chef special fried rice and chicken balls were nice. Tastes like the sauces are homemade. Sweet and sour sauce not the usual luminous red/orange thick glupe. Very reasonable prices and get free fortune cookies.

We've been patrons of The Golden Bridge for years and have always found the food, service and value excellent. My personal favourites are the peppery spare ribs, chicken curry (rich and very tasty) and the spring rolls, big and bursting with flavour. But between us our family have sampled most of the varied and extensive menu and have never been disappointed. I just don't understand the couple of bad reviews here. Guess you just can't please some people!

Random stop after a few beers. Ordered spicy ribs, plum ribs, chips and BBQ sauce. Chips were good. The rest was ruddy awful. BBQ sauce was like surgical spirit. Actually un-edible. Spicy ribs were edible but not tasty. Plum ribs we're completely tasteless! Absolutely could not recommend the place.

Ive had great food from here before and returned with the same expectations. We ordered a variety of things for 4 people. It was all terrible to the point that we phoned to see if either the owners had changed or being August whether they were on holiday. Alas apparently not. The spring rolls are normally lovely large ones non greasy. This was greasy, soft and smelling of garlic?? Most of the dishes had big chunks of chewy meat on the top and the sauces werent the normal that we have had. All in all its very disappointing and doubt we can bring ourselves to revisit in case we get the same again and again waste quite a lot of money.

Always busy so it's a good idea to phone your order in. T1 is our favourite, delicious! But all the dishes are very good, hot and freshly cooked.Polite and friendly service. The only problem is no parking outside, double yellow lines, but there is usually parking spaces further down the High Street. We have been getting take away from the Golden Bridge ever since it opened, which I think was 1978, it has always been good.
